Sometimes trees are nice, but I like that this park has many open expanses for kids to run and play in a very safe space. Softball, basketball and soccer areas are here also - though I don't know much about reserving them or anything. There are a few different playground areas, and admittedly, these could use some updating, but I think there are lots of places with splash pads and new playground equipment - what Eldon Lyon provides is room, and lots of it. In a time when parents feel they can't just let their kids roam free in the neighborhoods and the creek beds of our youth, this park helps address that need. I love the two mile trail that loops around and sometimes through the entire park, the nice picnic areas, and people watching.

The walk around the park is nice and flat and there are even distance markers so you know how far you've gone. There are several ares with many picnic tables. There are two playground areas for kids and several wide open fields. These fields would be great for getting together with friends and playing ultimate, kickball, or soccer if they were not full of stickers that will cover your socks and shoes if you walk through them. Overall, if you need a good afternoon walk or a shaded playground for the kids, I would recommend this park.

You can see some pretty greenery in the spring and summer. There's a little stream and a walking bridge that you can go over. There's a dog park for small dogs and big dogs. Sometimes I notice people in the small dog park with large dogs, so we are not able to go in. Little annoying. Most of the people do not pick up their dog's poop along the trail. Good to go for a nice summer day for outdoor activities.

They even placed a pecan sheller for those tht harvest them. The trail winds thru the trees and behind done neighborhoods. This section is approximately 2+ miles and winds along soldier creek. It is fully paved with a slight grade in some areas. It is totally wheelchair accessible. As always just pay attention to your surrounding.

I was visiting nearby and I decided to take a detour and bring my toddler to play. I googled nearby parks and this is what I got. UGH. Decent parking. Nice playground, safe even for the littler ones. This park has seating, pavilions, and a splash pad. Not to be confused with the daycare on the property that ALSO has a playground. Now. I love parks, but even my toddler was FULLY aware of how bad the trash was. And I quote, "EWWWW MOMMY TRASH." So, to no surprise, being the good boy he is (almost three) he walked around picking up ALL SORTS OF TRASH. it's pretty bad. Literally no matter where I look I can see some. What's even worse, is BROKEN GLASS! in several DIFFERENT areas... Good thing I don't let my son run barefoot. It's as if people drink and smash the bottles here.. Hmmmm..... Don't think I'll come here again. Also don't really recommend due to the state of the park and the area its in. I hate giving bad reviews like this. But really, it's a place for children and it's really not safe with all the glass and litter EVERYWHERE!

This is a nice little park located just west of the OKC Zoo. You can actually see the back of some…read moreof the animal pen areas. It's a park tht runs along a busy road. I only seen parking on the south end and there is no parking along where the animal pens are for obvious reasons. There are playscapes, tennis and basketball areas, pavilions and other protected shelters. This is adjacent to the Lincoln Park Golf Course.

They have put up some very nice apartment buildings and this park is located just across the street. The main area has seating and benches plus a large grass area and as you get near the back there are swings and a playscape area. This is a pretty depressed area of town but they are trying to bring it back to its glory especially with all the medical facilities in this area. Looking forward to watching this grow.

Jenkins Ave, east of the OU Track and Field and OK Memorial Stadium, on the University of Oklahoma (OU) campus. Just west of the railroad tracks. Description: The OU Duck Pond inside Brandt Park runs the length of the park to the north and south on the western side. The park has numerous trees and a large grassy area, mostly on the eastern side. It's extremely peaceful and tranquil. There are a few benches close to the pond and a stone walking bridge across the pond. The pond has moss over a portion of it, making it look like an English countryside. The main attraction is, of course, the ducks and the pond. The ducks are sharing it with the geese, who at times can get out of hand; as one was running after two of it's own when they came onto land into his space. History: The Park was named after the sixth President of OU, Joseph August Brandt, who was the only alumnus to serve as President.
