My nephew helped me find this on our way home from the Amish market. I had a spark of feeling to go find a record from a local store in PA so I quickly had him pull up on Apple Maps a record store that was close by while we were on a highway three places came up the first two seemed like they would've been extremely disappointing based on reviews and how they appear to be from photos, however, my nephew quickly found this place, which was #3. The second he read off to me about the photos and the reviews. I said OK let's switch the GPS to go to this location. To say "I'm glad I went" would be an understatement. When we first arrived, I quickly realize it's a small town that it's located in but a warming aesthetic, standing from the outside looking in you can just tell it's nothing but treasures awaiting to be found. From the warm greeting from Tom himself, down to him taking notice to the people that walk in and placing a track on the player they may like or even if they ask for certain artists record, he will go and run and put that on for them which I thought was extremely caring, but it also let me know how much he cares about the people who come in, what he do, and how his store is ran. He was kind enough to recommend places for my husband and I to visit in London for our honeymoon. I really enjoyed mingling with other people who share alike interests in this shop. Tom has created a great community place to meet new people and perhaps make new friendships. I adore all he has in his shop its the black hole of records or doom scroll of records lol. I drive 1hr and 7 mins from Maryland just to come to this store; Rock and Roll Graveyard is a great 36min spot from me but this one I fell in love with. Thank you Tom! read more

Not a lot of room but definitely lots of albums, 45s, CD to choose from. You can spend hours here. So many to look through. Thank goodness the owner is there to assist. If not available, he can order. Memorabilia covers every inch of the space also. Interesting. My husband used to be in a band. He enjoyed reminiscing while we took in everything. I describe Tom's as a glorious mess! That's a good thing. The store is packed, literally, with new and used vinyl and used CDs. If you want a new CD, ask Tom, he'll order it for you. This is my go-to record shop near my home! It's actually not too close to my home, which tells you how much I enjoy it...considering I drive almost an hour to get there and I consider it my go-to! Since I started re-collecting records last year, I've been here at least 6 or 7 times. Each time I stop in, I leave with at least 2 or 3 purchases. Great vibe/decor and always different music playing every time I go, which keeps it fresh. As far as records...it's wall to wall of everything from classic rock, jazz, blues, heavy metal, punk, hip hop and classical! Tom's got a good mix of new releases and reissues as well. But don't worry, it's about 80 to 90% used vinyl so make sure you set some time aside for some good old fashioned crate diggin! I like to take my time and usually spend at least 2 hours a visit digging. Of all my purchases, I've never been disappointed when I put one on the turntable! Most of the records sold are in VG condition or better and if not...it's priced accordingly. Speaking of prices...very reasonable! I would say that in the stores that I visit in the Baltimore area and Southern Pennsylvania, Tom's prices are tops in the sense of bargains! I haven't even mentioned the owner/curator of this great shop...Tom. He's a cool laid back dude, the kind of owner that's more than willing for a chat or to answer your questions about his stock. But don't worry, he's not like some record store owners: pushy, aloof or grouchy. Very approachable! Lastly, I'll mention that I was in the shop today for Record Store Day. I got there pretty early and was fifth in line. Maybe it was because I was early or maybe it was just good foresight by the owner to have ordered tons of RSD releases...but I was able to get 6 of the 7 records on my list! (I'll say it was his foresight!). I probably could've got the seventh if I didn't get distracted by all the other releases. Either way it was a very productive visit and my one stop for today's record holiday. Btw, the place was packed with folks but things seemed to run pretty smooth thanks to Tom's organization. Toms has a lot of stuff. Maybe too much. A lot of doubles and triples that make browsing really hard. Also the bins are really low and killer on your back if you're over 5'7". ( I'm 5'11") Lots of late 80's-mid 90's hardcore EPs but some of the prices are a bit much. Metal selection is very lacking unless you like 80's hair metal. The indie section was all new, overpriced LPs. The bulk of the store is typical used classic rock-80's Rock and nothing that you can't find somewhere else. Tom's did have collector records for bigger bands like the Beatles. Also had CDs, DVDs and cassettes, mostly 80-90's corporate stuff. But there is stuff everywhere so maybe I missed a jem hidden in a box under a table, I don't know. This was my first trip and its a nice spot but I wasn't highly impressed. I'll come back and maybe there will be better stuff. read more

Tom's is one of the best music stores in the area. Fair pricing, great selection, and a wonderful, friendly, appreciative owner. I have never left the place empty handed and always find something I didn't know existed or on my want list. My only complaint is that he is running out of room and has a massive inventory so unless you have several hours to spend there, you may not get through every crate. Tom's is what you want. I come once a week because every time I am blown away by what comes in and how often, I can't believe how good this place is. Another great thing are the prices of original pressings and rare vinyl that is priced very well and it essentially feels like you're always getting a steal. Never have I had any issues with the records either, they are all usually VG+ or NM. You're always going to find way more than you expected. The owner is great and is always willing to help. Visited Tom's for the first time and came with a load of cds to sell. They were mostly outdated junk and I knew that but I figured Tom could do me a favor and take them off my hands. He gave me a fair amount in store credit. After selecting several cds and going over my credit amount, he shook my hand, said "We're good", and sent me on my way. Tom's a good guy with a nice selection of vinyl, cds, dvds, and other music related items. I only gave 4 stars because the store is small and very crowded and difficult to get through. If he had a store that was double in size, it would be more organized and easier to navigate. Oh well, I'm just glad to see that there is a music store w/in a decent distance of my place. If you like treasure hunting in music stores, this is your butter and jam! So much stuff to choose from. You can dig through vinyls and cd's in one store, but do it on a day that you can take your time, as Tom's is a mini subway full of goodies to dig through. He will let you hunt on your own and give you your space or is up for help anytime. I only know of one other proper music store in the area (meaning not the mall and big box stores) and Tom's has so much more in his lunch box any day! One of my favorite places. Small, cramped, and somewhat disorganized but worth the time to dig for treasures. Tom doesn't discriminate much on his trade ins so the selection is very eclectic. I've found some things on CD that I didn't know had ever been released. This place is a goldmine for true music lovers. 1000's of albums on both vinyl and CD as well as music memorabilia. You could literally spend hours in this shop that's hardly large enough to turn around in. I highly recommend this business. read more

This place is a music lover's dream and a surprise find for a market this size. Tom has plenty of used CDs and they're about $5 on average, but you can find bargains for a buck or two. The vinyl selection is also very good and most records are about $5 as well. There are a large number of used DVDs, but there aren't many used video games. Tom also carries record players and accessories, but the selection is fairly limited and hit or miss. Its a joy to see what treasures you can uncover in the stacks. Give yourself plenty of time to peruse. Some of the merchandise is well organized, but much of it is just albums thrown at random into boxes, but that only adds to the thrill of the hunt. You can really build your collection without breaking the bank if you shop at Tom's. The biggest problem with Tom's is that the shop is too tiny to handle all the merchandise. If you want to thoroughly search the stacks, you'll find yourself digging through towers of boxes, and it gets tricky to find enough space to move them around. You'll also find yourself squeezing past other customers as you try to make your way through the place. I highly recommend stopping by during the day before school lets out, because once it does, the place gets overrun by teenagers who do more gawking than buying. Unfortunately there is no room for Tom to expand, so the tight quarters are here to stay unless he relocates. Tom is very helpful and knows his merchandise well, so if you are looking for something specific, be sure to ask him if he has it. He's like the guy with the cluttered office who always knows exactly what stack something is buried in. Music stores like this just don't exist anymore! That's why I still give it 5 stars despite the cramped quarters. There is only street parking, so bring quarters. read more

Every time I come I find a couple records that I know I will end up buying within the first 10 minutes, one of the best things about this record store is the amount of records and the wealth of great albums from every genre, under the main tables there are boxes full of good albums aswell. I can highly recommend Tom's Music Trade. After the death of my husband, I needed to find a home for his 2,000 LPs. I wanted them to go to someone who appreciated them as much as my husband did. A good friend mentioned that she had read about Tom's Music in a newspaper article. I called. Tom himself made a 'housecall' and paid a fair price. He took all the LPs, except a few I kept for myself, that same evening. I appreciated his interest in the albums, his professionalism, and his sunny outlook at what was such a difficult time for me. I find real comfort in the knowledge that my husband's albums are appreciated and will be sold to other enthusiasts. The money I got from Tom will be used for a memorial scholarship in my husband's name. It all worked out so much better than I ever expected and I want to pass this information on to anyone who may need to find a home for beloved LPs and especially to anyone who wants to purchase them. First of all, Tom is the owner of the store and he is there opening to close so if you have questions, the owner is there to answer them. Second, if you are going to sell a record or a CD or a library Tom is going to give you a great offer. He is fair and as honest a guy as you will ever meet.
