Since I was nearby I thought id pop in and see if they had anything good to read. I ended up not only finding a book for the day but also a book ive been wanting to add to my collection! They have such a large variety of books and everything is laid out so well. Next time i go i plan on picking up a blind bag of books just to see what kind of wanders I find!

What a charming new and used bookstore in fed hill. I've seen this store for years and years and…read morenever stopped in. But I was in the area checking out a new vintage store and thought I'd pop in. Retail is kind of dying in this area, but book escape was thriving. There were lots of people in there browsing and reading. There's a really cute back area with a mermaid mural and a reading nook. There's a lot of brand new books sold at 15% off, which are among the best sellers list. I thought in this economy - what a steal of a deal that is! The front desk is right around the front corner and the owner seemed nice. There's a huge selection of music in the corner and I thought that for a used bookstore, it was really well organized. It is a little clustered, but overall really bright and airy and lots of books!

Just saw that they moved out towards Dallastown on S. Queen Street. Will have to visit soon. Noticed they don't have hours listed on Yelp. Hope they are open. Wonder if they still have coffee. I had to stop in as I love a local bookstore and was blown away. It's a cafe and plant store with the best curated book selection I've seen. It's a tight collection of books and the owners were celebrating their one year opening and were giving out cookies! I would make the hour drive just to spend time in this bookstore! The staff made my friend really good about her book purchase. There's a dedicated children's section that's so cozy and instagrammable. There was also a sale cart which you don't often see in bookstores, if you're looking for a bargain might be a good stop for you. I'm still thinking about this bookstore as I write the review. Check the days and hours before you visit. Lady Matilda and I come to the market for our meats and spices, grab a soft pretzel or three from the Amish kiosk, and see what the Bookworm has to surprise us. It's a friendly shop where they remember you and your tastes. I've converted a lot of clients and friends in the area who were quick to dismiss it as just another dirt-mall book dump. Absolutely not. The store carries the professionalism of classic independent booksellers with the fun of a friendly mom-and-pop store. Take a break from the busy market on your next visit.

There's so much to see inside, with all kinds of book genres all well-organized and easy to search. The staff was incredibly friendly and approached me twice to ask if there was something they could help me find. They knew where everything was and knew sometimes even before they'd look what was on the shelves and what wasn't (or what just sold a couple of days/weeks ago). I went to Shippensburg University and worked in this town for seven years, and never once did I find my way into this shop, but I am so glad that I found it now. It's hidden back an alleyway, and while there's a small sign out front that you can see from the street, you need to know where it is or you'll miss it. The selection available at the Book Junction is truly the best in any shop I've visited. I walked in looking specifically for one book (Neuromancer by William Gibson), and not only did I find it (seriously I've visited 8 other bookstores including Barnes and Noble and none had it), but I also found books five OTHER classic science fiction books I'd been unable to find elsewhere too. Paperback books are generally priced half off of whatever the publisher's price was on the book, which is pretty reasonable. The owner told me this mom and pop shop has been open for 23 years this year. Do yourself a favor and go check the Book Junction out. It's one of the absolute best I've come across and you won't be disappointed!

It's so rare to find a large bookstore, especially at malls nowadays, even if it is a chain. Ansley's talk about the book nerd tchotchkes - unmatched. Dangerous. A true test of self-control. If you've ever wanted socks, mugs, pens, puzzles, stickers, or stuffies that loudly announce I READ, this is your spot. They do tend to run pricey, but I think that's typical of all mall stores, and I'd rather buy from a local shop than Amazon if I can help it. Theres a BAM membership you can sign up for that helps, and they do occasionally have nice sales, so just be on the look out for those if you're looking to save a few bucks.

Still I entertained the notion of supporting the local merchants in a brick and mortar store. I approached the checkout counter with over $70 in merchandise and was rung up. The sales associate then asked if I wanted a bag. Of course I wasn't going to juggle all the merchandise throughout the rest of the mall without a bag so I said, "Yes, please." She then told me that would be $1.99. I was absolutely dumbfounded and taken aback, half tempted to just walk out and not purchase anything, but remembered they were for gifts and I didn't have time to ship them. Next time I will certainly preplan and avoid this store. I'd rather purchase and pay for shipping than for the gas to travel here, the inconvenience of standing in line, having to lug purchases throughout the mall and back home... and be charged $2 for a bag to carry my purchases. This is just in poor form to scam customers into purchasing a bag after you ring up a large order! It's just not worth the hassle. I asked for a free plastic bag and was informed they will no longer provide them. The store is well stocked and organized, but all the items can be obtained elsewhere for less of a cost and more convenience to ship to your front door or remember to take your own bag if you plan on shopping here. Highly disappointing and I'll no longer be shopping or supporting this store.
