Tom's Tailors did not give me the alteration I asked for, in fact he did just the opposite of what we agreed upon. Tom's Tailors had no interest in correcting the problem rather he blamed me and demanded I pay as he is "not making any money on me." Ton's Tailors used cheap materials. Top notch skill and customer service at reasonable prices. It's not uncommon to see wedding dresses hanging in this place and it doesn't surprise me that brides trust TT with one of the most important and expensive items they will ever wear. My husband, daughter and I are all short and have to hem EVERYTHING and redo waists frequently. I tried Sew What in St. Paul because I can walk there from my house, but had to take my jeans to Tom to do a re-fix Sew What didn't get quite right. I will go straight to Tom's from now on, which by the way, was recommended to me in the first place by a very picky friend. read more

I went to Tom's to get a formal dress altered for a wedding. With the 5 star rating I figured I wouldn't have any problems. The alterations I needed done was shortening the length of the dress and shortening a one shoulder sash-like strap. It seemed like a pretty easy fix. When I picked up the dress, there were noticeable chalk marks on it that wouldn't just rub off. The lady gave me attitude when I asked her to clean them off. The sash hung in the back awkwardly and when I asked to have it brought up with the rest of the material I was told that was the way the dress was made. Well I was the only bridesmaid with this problem (out of 7) so I am pretty sure that could have been fixed. The mother of the bride ended up pinning it for the wedding, which was very embarrassing. I also noticed that the dress was about an inch longer than what we agreed on in the fitting. I didn't being my shoes back with me when I picked up the dress so I didn't notice this until the day of the wedding. So my whole walk down the aisle I feared tripping on my dress. I'm sure many of the guests thought I didn't even have alterations done on the dress. Between all of those issues along with spending over $100 for 2 very simple alterations, I do not plan on going back. Ever. read more

The zipper broke on my $200+ winter jacket. After reading another review on yelp, I decided to take it to Tom's Tailor. The zipper was replaced for $28 and nobody would ever know that it's not the original zipper. It looks perfect! read more

Tom's tailor is fantastic. I first went there to get my shirts tailored in for a slim fit and they did an amazing job. Now I bring all my dress shirts there. The also do a great job with suits. They know exactly what to do to solve your problem. They are a little expensive, but you get what you pay for! $24 for bringing in sides of shirts and sleeve. Another $24 for length. I still recommend it highly. read more

Awesome. Just awesome. I have a sweater that got totally ravaged by moths and I took it to Tom's to see if they could fix it. I wasn't too optimistic, but they fixed it up and it looks great. It was $50 and they fixed ALL of the holes. They also fixed another sweater and replaced the pull on a zipper of a jacket that was broken. Fast, friendly service and excellent repairs. read more

Best tailor in the Twin Cities. I have several tailors closer to where I live, but I always drive to Tom's every time.

This is by far the best tailor I've ever used. I have brought many pairs of denim to Tom and they always come back perfectly cut. I've even had him alter boot cut jeans into straight cut (which I figured would be very hard to do well) and they were cut far better than I could have ever expected. I'm always met with smiles when I walk in, and thanked multiple times before leaving. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I took 3 pair of dress pants in to be hemmed and when I got them back, 2 of the 3 pairs had been hemmed up above my ankle bone. Needless to say, take your business elsewhere! read more

I used to love Tom's and would refer friends. Things were great when they did as you requested, but beware because when they make a mistake like hemmed four out of my six pairs of pants too short, they refused to offer a discount or replace the product. It is unfortunate. read more

I had caught the pocket of my prized leather jacket bought in Istanbul on the door jam of my office. Not only was the side of the pocket torn (along the seam) but it took out a big flap of leather on the bottom front of the pocket. I was pretty upset about it and thought the jacket might be ruined. (As did one of my co-workers who heard me use every swear word in the book!) I found Tom's Tailor on Yelp and saw all his wonderful reviews. I just picked up my jacket yesterday and am AMAZED at the quality of work Tom did. The stitched part of the pocket looks brand new and the flap where he glued the leather back in place looks incredible. The original tear there was probably 4 inches long across the bottom of the pocket and if I look hard, I can see perhaps 1" of where he glued it back together. I cannot see the rest of the tear at all. No one else would ever notice! Tom had my work done in just one week and charged me a very fair price. Needless to say, I'll be brining future tailoring needs (just hopefully no more torn jackets) to Tom! read more
