I have an upcoming wedding in Early June. I came in with my wedding dress hoping that it can be done before the wedding. I went in a few times to get the right measurements and so far it's going pretty well. The price is pricey, but I know it's going to be worth it and of course adding all of the extra cost. Small family owned and operated dry cleaner/alterations. It appears to be run by a pair of siblings where the sister does most the alterations and the brother handles the day to day customer interactions. I would have never noticed the shop if not for Google and yelp. Its in a shopping center where you walk into a main entrance and then through another set of interior doors. THEN another door to your left. Mall like entrance, however a little confusing since from the exterior it appears its only a dry cleaners front entrance. I came in after 5pm. I walked into the tailors and ended up right in the center of the store. The tailors is only about a 200 sq feet room with a rack of dry cleaned or tailored clothing hanging over 80% of the room. The room also consists of a dressing room and a small side table for taking payments. I was greeted by the brother and he came over to have me mark where I wanted my blazers sleeves brought up to. The marked it and then took my payment for $75 for 2 blazer sleeves (lined and with buttons). He gave me an estimate of 30 days for the estimated finish time. He gave me my ticket and another customer showed up for a new service. I received a phone call about the 25th day and came in to pick up. I arrived about 1.5 hr before close on a Saturday. I walked into the shop and waited 15 minutes. The shop was empty. Perhaps a quick break for the brother. I am sure there was not a restroom in the shop. The brother returned and he remembered me. He handed me my items and I went to the car to try on my blazers. They appeared to be in good order. Brother doesn't do the tailoring. Sister does tailoring but not sure if it's from the store or at home. I have never worked with anyone but the brother. He had to call the sister for a quote on the sleeves when I originally dropped off. Overall, the work and value were great. Communications good based on the fact that English is their second language and culture. Asians generally aren't exactly known for their enthusiasm and especially if you are a male. I would recommend their services. If you have something valuable to get tailored, their prices seem to be the market rate. I always say, you get the quality you pay for. Just don't come here expecting anything fancy with regards to decor or long conversations. I'd compare it to the hole in the wall Chinese food that is the bomb which they are efficient at taking your order. Then getting on to the next person. I'm visiting the area from LA and needless to say have never experienced cold like this. The only thick jacket I own got a huge rip in the inner lining after snagging it on a chair. Came in to see Molly and she fixed it in 10 mins and made it look like new again. She was so friendly, understanding and accommodating. Matter of fact, my friend who was with me had a few loose buttons on his jacket and was so impressed with Molly that he had her fix his jacket as well. I did not have a good experience here and will find another place to go to in the future. I am pear shaped and needed some pants taken in at the waist, everywhere else (like thighs and booty) fit fine. The tailor had a very difficult time thinking about how to make this alteration which confused me. I've had this done on other pants and jeans and it has never confounded a seamstress before. When I had picked it up and tried the pants on she had not only taken in the waist but continued the taper all the way down to the knees on both legs (so that it was taken in uniformly from waist to knee). If that had been my issue I just would have bought a smaller pair of pants! She was the gal who had taken the measurements and had seen that I only needed the waist taken in. Kind of nuts! Fortunately, she hadn't cut the excess material (I'm grateful for that, but find it weird that a seamstress wouldn't remove all the excess material that she believed was unnecessary). She was able to remove the new stitches and when I came back the next time she had put an elastic band in the waist. I can understand why, but it's not what I wanted. The elastic piece is also pretty small so it is tighter than I would like and gathers the materials too much around the waist. At that point though, I just paid for the pants and will live with them as is. Certainly will find a new seamstress who knows how to take in pants at the waist next time! read more
