Great place to be. Great for all ages. Activities range from lakes, zip line, field days, Bebe guns, archery and more.

Located near Payson, this camp is the perfect place to get away from the summer heat. My older children have attended several camps/programs at Camp Geronimo. They have enjoyed each visit. I am giving the camp 5 stars for the weather, as well as the views. Having picked them up from camps, I can attest to how beautiful the weather is during the summer. If attending BSA summer camp, there are a plethora of merit badge classes, adventures, day and night programs, swimming, boating, shooting sports, fishing and horses programs. Horse and fishing programs have extra fees. One of my kids loved the rock climbing wall. The summer camp programs are designed so that there is something for each Scout. There is a small shop. Shop is a mixture of Scout items, stickers, patches, snacks, and random goodies. This is also where leaders pick up advancement and awards earned at camp. Some of the facilities can use updating. Maybe it adds to the rustic charm. Geronimo is open to more than just Scouts BSA. Their 200 acres are available for rent by groups other than the Boy Scouts. Cabin and campsites are available. That is in addition to staff cabins. There is also a pool, amphitheater, creek, hiking trails, shower facilities, and health lodge. Reservations for outside groups may be made at: https://www.campgeronimo.org/reserve/ The ride up can be a bit tricky. If you have a truck or off-road vehicle, I highly recommend it. Upon leaving Payson, the road gets bumpy and steep. It can be a difficult drive in a small car.

We found out about the outage when other kids posted about it on Facebook...Phones? The staff was busy using their own phones and never took away phones from other campers, as I was told. Our children were not placed in the same cabins. Their medication never made it to the nurse, and so they self administered the entire week. The kids were hungry, and lived off of microwave popcorn and ramen noodles from the canteen. They were placed on the wrong activities, and the staff lied to me about it. My son was punished and placed in girls' hula "for complaining." My son said that he was treated differently because the staff was informed that I had called supervisors with concerns. I am disturbed by the lack of communication, safety, and professionalism demonstrated by this camp and its leadership. I have been waiting to hear back from a staff member from Salvation Army for the last four days. Still no word. Parents-beware!
