Compared to other photographers I got quotes from, there was just so much more included with these guys it almost didn't seem possible! 2. There are two of them. Trust me - this is a HUGE added benefit. Just think about all of the moments in your wedding where you want a photo of more than one vantage point but won't get them with a single photographer. Think about when you're walking down the aisle - you want a photo of the grooms reaction too don't you? Maybe everyone is dancing with the cute flower girl but the cake comes out while everyone is distracted - perfect time to get both shots. 3. They are laid back and open to your ideas. Both of their demeanor is really relaxed and calm. This isn't as important during an engagement shoot, but during the craziness of a wedding it is really nice to have a team that is confident in what they do, with a quiet authority among wrangling family members, the chaos that comes with a wedding day's schedule of events, etc. I really wanted several specific photos and they were open to seeing my vision come to life and they captured it perfectly! 4. There truly aren't words that I could convey to describe the magic Sarah creates behind the lens, but humor me as I attempt. Living in California, I'm used to overpaying for mediocre everything. This is typically the name of the game. The thought of spending $8,000 for a photographer I wasn't crazy about was keeping me up at night; but unfortunately was our reality. It never occurred to me to reach outside of our overpriced-California-bubble, until a good friend was researching for her own Wedding. At first I thought she was nuts, considering photographers in Hawai'i, Washington, Arizona, Oregon; and initially wrote off her notion. Enter, Sarah Willey. Upon the first "check this photographer out" text, I was hooked. It was a done deal in my head, but still I grappled with the idea of travel costs, distance, unfamiliarity with the area, etc. etc. etc. Upon my first contact and phone conversation with Sarah, all those concerns melted away.
