Two of our party had bruschetta for starters and absolutely loved it . Main courses of salmon , beef and lamb were consumed with much enthusiasm and were rated very highly indeed. Bread and butter sticky toffee pudding was out of this world. Coffees were accompanied by oohs and arrs so I can only assume that they were superb. Others had fish cakes, pork tenderloin, lamb, and a variety of starters and desserts; but really everyone was complimentary of their food. Service was also above par. Then one morning I happended to be there quite early when they were baking that days cakes and breads and quiches and I have never smelt anything so good. Unless I had seen it with my own eyes I wouldn't have beleived that such a small place would make everything from scratch! We now make sure we always get a cake when we pick up our coffee! They do takeaways but there is aslso a small seating area downstairs as well as upstairs. I had a chocolate rocky road sort of cake the other day and it was fab, it had almonds loads of chocolate and amaretto biscuits, mmmm, and it was huge! They sell out every day, so if you want a good selection to be tempted by you need to go early.

Stopped into Cemlyn which is situated on the High St, around the corner from the castle. We were seated as soon as we arrived on the terrace by the friendly staff - who also told us that a carrot cake had just been prepared. The views of the castle are great. The menu was perfect for a morning coffee, with an endless list of teas (this being their thing). We had coffee however, and had a choice of rich roast or medium blend, and either hot or cold milk. Also ordered a toasted tea cake and a piece of the aforementioned carrot cake. All came out quickly to our wonky table on the terrace. The coffee was delicious, I had full roast and cold milk. My partner and I split the tea cake and the carrot cake. Both were amazing! The carrot cake moist and tasty, and the tea cake was one of the best I have had. Toasted to perfection and just the right amount of butter pre spread. The owner popped round the tables too to see if everything was ok...a nice gesture. We stayed a bit longer then we thought we would as it was so nice (we stayed way past our car parking ticket of 1hour!) Do visit this area...it great, and do visit this tea shop!

When someone isn't happy with the coffee they've just sent out (which tasted great by the way) And spends time fixing it until they feel it's right. And then gives you more coffee! FREE. That's perfection and that is customer service. This is a lovely quaint station house attached to Prescot train station. We only went downstairs which was lovely and cozy and has a toilet. Just as well after two large cups of coffee. The rustic vibe is perfect and the menu looked really good. I could even select vegan options. More of that on my next visit. The staff are lovely polite and engaging. You feel more like part of the family than a customer. Tune in on my next visit. I will venture upstairs and add more photos then. And also try something from the menu. Thanks to the staff for being very professional. And thanks for the perfect coffee.
