I'm writing this review even though I never heard of them or directly hired them! I hired a…read morecontractor to install travertine pavers, pool tile and resurface our pool. The contractor learned that since his company wasn't trained/accredited to apply the PebbleTec PebbleBrilliance pool surface material, he had to hire one of two companies in south FL who are authorized to do the work. Florida Pool Surfaces was one of the companies! You should rub me for luck because I'm very, very fortunate the contractor hired this company! Jason came to see the pool first - he drained the water at the base of the pool (we filled it so it wouldn't pop from pressure), he checked out the bonding on the pool surface and added more bonding agent to help ensure good adherence with the surface material. He told me to expect another crew to come to apply the PebbleTec material. What is PebbleTec material? It's the coolest thing, ever. Our surface has small pebbles and glass beads, so the pool looks like a natural swimming hole with water sparkling top to bottom. Really! Look at the pics and you'll see why this is not the Diamondbrite/Marcite of yesteryear! It's not a color on pool walls - it's an organic-looking, shimmering pool surface material. The application crew rolled in on a huge truck of supplies - think 18 wheeler - and pick up truck filled with muriatic acid. They covered the travertine floor and coping around the pool and then sprayed PebbleTec's PebbleBrilliance product onto the pool walls. They patted the sprayed material into the pool crevices. In 5 hours' time, the pool was completely done, the floors around the pool were pristine and they were back on their truck. They were like magic creatures, transforming a gray bonded pool surface into a jewel-tone stunner. PebbleTec only warranties pool surfaces that are installed by companies whose people were trained on their application techniques. At work completion, we registered the warranty on their site (it's a 25 year warranty). Our pool service company treated the filtered water used to fill the pool. They and my husband will brush the pool surface every day during the first 2 weeks. The pool company will keep checking the pH for the next 2 weeks and add acid as needed. It's labor-intensive initially, but the pool surface will last for decades to come. Now we look forward to waking up and opening the window treatment or walking the dog! Any excuse to see the pool works for us! We're DAZZLED by the look of the material and the quick, professional, spotlessly clean way Florida Pool Surfaces' people worked. No wonder PebbleTec trusts them to do the work - we do too!

With each and every problem, Carl was not only rude and dismissive to our builder, but personally insulted us because he was too lazy to finish the project properly. We had a significant leak in our pool requiring additional water every day. They correctly…read moreidentified multiple leaks in the skimmer basket and return line in the side of the pool. They also put in a fix at no extra charge (part of their leak detection service) and while they warned us this was a temporary fix they did not pressure us to spend 5x more on the permanent fix they provided as an estimate. Now we are coming up on a year and their "temporary" fix is starting to wane and we will be requesting a second opinion on the replacement cost for the skimmer basket. My wife and I were very happy with their service and will likely give them a chance to beat any 2nd opinion.

They said they liked Crystal Clear Pools and the owner himself had installed their salt system. I had the pool system checked out by a good friend with a lot of knowledge of pools and my pool company that we have been using for almost 20yrs. They both noticed that the salt system was not working and that that Crystal Clear Pools had been using chlorine instead of the salt system to treat the pool. No one had let the previous owners know their salt system was not working but were aware since they were using chlorine instead. Also the pump was not priming all the way. The pump was the first thing noticed by my pool company and friend when they walked up to the system. The previous owners were surprised and had the owner himself come out and fix the salt system. He replaced the main board and charged them $600. They told me that the owner said that particular pump was supposed to only fill half way up and that was normal. I doubled checked with my pool company and my friend and they said that was not normal. Then I called the manufacturer of the pump. They also said it was not normal and that someone needed to look at the pump. I called Crystal Clear Pools and left a message for the owner. After a few days someone from the company called and said the owner would get back to me. He never did. I called the company again and still did not get a hold of anyone who could help or the owner. The previous owners of my house gave me the direct contact for the owner of Crystal Clear Pools. When I called his cell phone he answered. I explained about the pump. He was very nice and told me he would be out in a few days to look at it. I asked if the warranty on the pump was transferable to me and he said it was. Neither the owner from the pool company or anyone else showed up. I called a week later and left a message. I did not hear back. About a week after that I called and the owner picked up again. He was just as nice as the first time I talked to him. He apologized for not coming about and assured me he would be out in a week. When he did not show up again I texted him (see uploaded screen shot) and he responded back. I asked him to be honest if he was going to show up. He assured me he would. He never got back to me and I told him I was moving forward without him. Its now been over a month. I never heard back from him. I was very polite and I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. He was always nice and assured me he would be out but his actions sadly showed me that he had no intention of looking at the problem. I had my pool company fix the issue. While working it they noticed Crystal Clear Pools plumbed the pool pump to where you could barely remove the cap to get the basket out of the pump (See picture). I do not like leaving bad reviews but feel I need to in this case. The owner has not provided quality work, service, or honesty to the previous owner or myself. There are a lot of pool companies in the area. I would try one of them before I would try Crystal Clear Pools.

Horrible service. When I complained about the water flow and I was willing to be they had not…read morecleaned a brand new filter in 6 weeks, they said I should cancel their service. The skimmer basket was filled with old leaves. They did not vacuum the pool when they came this week (I know, because the hat I dropped in the pool on Sunday was still there on Wednesday. No "we will do better", no excuses, they must have known it was a problem. They scarred the grab tiles with their poles, and the pool looks worse and worse every month, lots more yellow mold, and more grey on the bottom. Now, I am not so sure I actually needed a new salt board. I cut checks twice a month, and they must be really short on cash flow, as this seems to be a problem for them. I am sorry to say they are not very professional, and apparently strapped for cash flow.
