I dropped in one of the subsidiaries in Vienna, in Lower Austria and was really surprised. The equipment was great. In my eyes technical devices, etc. are tools to be used, must be practical, ready for use and affordable. The staff was great, friendly, easy-going and very competent. The moment you enter the stores you feel the atmosphere, lots of friendly faces, no attacks by the sales guys and girls and willing to answer your questions. Now I know why they are so successful!!!

The top floor is mainly dedicated to computer and computer related equipment and the bottom floor covers just about everything else. The Apple section is located as well on the top floor. Prices are decent and are comparable to MediaMarkt (the other big electronics player) and there are also frequent sales. Service can be iffy at times. Its quite possible to stand looking at an expensive piece of kit for 10 minutes before someone comes to help and other times when you are looking at cheap adapters you could be inundated with helpers. Odd at times. Quick insider tip. Don't take the escalators up to Saturn, rather use the lifts. They are "hidden" away on the back wall of the centre and are hardly ever used. Much quicker to get upstairs.

It is finally my turn and I want to pay for the almost 200 Euro purchases with my US credit card, only to be told that it is cash only or some special European debit card - WTF!!!! Nowhere in the store did it say "no credit cards." This is not a small bakery of cafe, items like TVs and computer stuff run into the hundreds of euros. I wasted 40 minutes of my time and was forced to leave my purchase at the cash register.

Trotz der Meldung des Problems auf der Website mediamarkt.at und der Einsendung des Geräts an das Servicezentrum in Wien hat sich bis zum heutigen Tag - das sind mittlerweile über 7 Monate - das Unternehmen Media Markt nicht gerührt, trotz mehrerer Anfragen meinerseits. Es herrscht völlige Funkstille. Ich habe weder eine Rückerstattung noch einen Austausch des defekten Geräts erhalten. Dies ist mit Abstand der schlechteste Laden, mit dem ich je zu tun hatte. Meine Angelegenheit wird vor Gericht gebracht. Wenn du keine Probleme haben willst - meide diesen Laden so weit wie möglich!

MediaMarkt and Saturn, I m looking at you! Great selection of Apple and third party products and fairly reasonably priced too.
