They sort the clothing by gender and type of clothing, with regular ongoing sales on certain items. The prices were quite fair for the selection and quality of stuff they have. The shop is located along the iconic Chapel Street, where there's lots of weird vintage shops and eclectic clothing shops, so I figured this would be a good place to scope out some weird clothes. Storehouse didn't disappoint! They had ugly Christmas sweaters on display, and all kinds of old stuff. They not only sell clothes, but have plates, dishes, cups, bowls, and some cookware. They've got a good selection of old books at cheap prices, so if you leave the book on the train, it's not a big deal. The staff was on the ball, running the register and answering questions.

From great quality cardigans that won't lose their shape, to quirky dresses to fashion-forward tops and bottoms with the cutest prints. This is one store that doesn't shy away from prints. In fact, Friends of Couture seems to thrive on prints. If you're serious about dots, stripes, hearts, bows, checks, horses, owls, bears, moose, deer and cats, you'll love the stuff here. If you hate these prints - go elsewhere! Serious, monochromatic-addicts will hate it here. I love the quirky patterns, vintage inspired buys and spin-offs on classic prints that this shop does so well. Plus, it carries a good selection of handbags and accessories to complete your outfit with. Always make sure to check the back racks for sale products. Very often you'll find that perfect dress, scarf or cardi just waiting to be brought home by you.

There are heaps of designer clothes that go for next to nothing but a lot are priced quite high so be prepared if you get that feeling of, "I have to HAVE this", you might be digging deep into your wallet. I like how big it is and I think it's getting even bigger because last time I went there it looked like a space had been made for a furniture section. So if this does happen then it truly will be the ultimate Op Shop. The people are reasonable there as well so if you think something is over priced don't be afraid to ask and usually they'll drop a couple of dollars (good tip). I've picked up some great shoes there as well as bags, lights, kitchen ware, a coffee machine (that works), shirts, jackets and was tempted to buy a dresser but contained myself, as it was probably for the best, because sometimes you get home and realise you don't really need half the things you buy!

The articles were all beautiful and well priced and the gentleman setting the store up was absolutely wonderful. He was so helpful and couldn't speak highly enough of the respective people involved in the business. His plans for the store sound absolutely incredible and we can't wait to see what happens with the store. It's a perfect mix of nostalgic pieces that remind you of a time where dishes, rent and all the other annoying things about being an adult didn't occupy your mind and unworldly articles of history that make you want to don a pair of bloomers and churn some butter. We can't wait to fill our little apartment with the quirky oddities and absolute gems that we know we will unearth here! I know where my paycheque will be going in the future!

I live just down the street from this op shop, and I've probably been in no fewer than 50 times in the last year. It's a bold statement, but... this is the best op shop I have found in Melbourne! And trust when I say, I know second hand. This store is a treasure. Something about the grit of Grey St and the snob of St K come together in a beautifully affordable syncretism that is a new-with-tags French Connection dress or a stunning 1950s painted bureau. The staff here are always wonderfully friendly, working hard to add new stock in daily. The store itself is not much on looks, but the racks and stacks of donated goods are well worth a dig. A word of advice: If you see it once, you won't see it twice. This shop is top pickings for the acquainted, so if you think you might want something you'd better snag it while you can.
