Went to Dr. Guthrie's office for my daughters first checkup (she's just under 2) and was impressed…read moreright when we walked in the door. The lobby was a child's playroom, equipped with toys, Legos, video games and an indoor treehouse type play structure. When Theresa took us back, she explained all the paperwork that I would have to look through and gave us a thorough tour of the facility. It is a very child friendly environment and my toddler loved it, she especially liked the fact that she got to choose her own toothbrush, toothpaste, and sand timer. She was sat down in an open area where all the children get checked up, had her own tv in the ceiling to keep her distracted while getting examined, and she got to wear cool pink shades for protection. Theresa explained all the instruments to my daughter and also let her touch them before they were used on her, which made her more comfortable. Amazingly, she did really well throughout her exam and then Dr. Guthrie came in to make sure there were no X-rays needed or any other dental problems. He also explained that he would be counting my daughters teeth to make her comfortable and was very quick and thorough so that my daughter didn't get scared or antsy. After her exam, she got to choose a toy to take home from their toy chest, stickers while I was signing paperwork, she received a dollar for not having any cavities and a balloon on our way out. She definitely did well on her first visit and am so glad that she didn't get traumatized by the dentist, which I'm sure a lot of toddlers do. I am glad I found this pediatric dentistry and thrilled that my daughter is going to be a happy patient here!

One of the worst experiences I've had as a mom! I took my daughter here last year, she had a couple…read moreof teeth she broke while rough housing. They quoted me $5,000 (out of pocket) for ceramic caps for 4 teeth-2 broken & 2 had cavities. I asked them how much my insurance was covering. They said "oh we did a rough estimate & your insurance is covering only $1400). Mind you these are baby teeth, not permanent teeth. I had a gut feeling that this wasn't right + their customer service was horrible!!! Every receptionist / xray tech / dental hygienist treated us like a number, not a patient!! I obviously decided to get a second opinion.... The new dentist said there is no way she would put 2 caps on those broken teeth, but unfortunately she found another cavity on a back molar.... They quoted me 900.00 out of pocket for 3 caps! My insurance is covering $2400.00.... Tell me what sense that makes?! That shows me pediatric dental didn't even try to run my dental insurance!! I would definitely get a second opinion before using this place.

But as soon as we walked in the door we could feel the warmth and kindness of dental staff! From the moment Carlee and Mia got in the dentist chair for the overall clean & checkup to the check out of our visit, I felt safe and cared for by a very loving staff! Im so glad my gut guided us to Children's Dental Haven.. now I no longer worry about who our girls dentist will be! The assistant -Annie did a marvelous job and should be commended! She explained everything that would be going on she even explained all costs that possibly insurance didn't cover that we could easily decline with no judgement. I don't think my girls ever had pain or discomfort and definitely will return to her ! She hit her tooth so hard from a fall it bled and turned grey. This office was able to work me into a quick appointment and was easy to work with for the payment. My daughter doesn't like to leave my side so they had to pick her up to take her back since adults aren't allowed in the back, but by the time they were done with her exam she was happy and asked when she would get to go back. Icing on the cake is that when I sat down to talk about her results, Dr. Heim put me at ease and got rid of my mom guilt.

Was the dentist at Smiling Faces not doing her job to see that he needed more work done months ago??!?! I will now have to reschedule all my other children to be re examined because smiling faces obviously just like charging insurance for a job not done! Dont take your kids here.
