This morning I found out what everyone else was talking about -- and am transferring our records away from Oasis. We won't go back. Our appointment was at 8:30 AM. We arrived at 8:11 AM and walked to the door with an employee who said "I have to go in the staff door. I'll just walk around and let you in." Instead, she completely forgot about us, leaving my 5-year-old son and me just sitting on the hallway floor waiting. When my son told me he needed the bathroom, I had to knock on the staff door just to get someone to hand me a key to the locked hallway bathroom -- which they initially were reluctant to do (!). When the clinic door finally opened at 8:26 AM, I saw the employee who had told us she'd let us in, and asked why she didn't either let us in or at least tell us that she couldn't do it. She hemmed and hawed and said nothing. No apology. Nothing like "you're right, I should have told you. I just got so busy that I forgot. I'm sorry about that." Nothing. The receptionist then asked me "what do you want me to say?" When I said "you could start with a simple apology for treating us inconsiderately", she literally shrugged her shoulders, and said nothing. I asked if they would rather lose a patient than offer a basic apology, and she stared at me in silence. The lack of empathy and basic courtesy from this staff is mind-boggling. Avoid this place if you value good care and customer service.

They really take the time to help them get comfortable with letting him brush a stuffed dragons teeth while cheering him on and answering all my questions to explaining how we'd get his cleaning down via teamwork between myself and the dentist to discussing tips on how to create positive dentist memories. I never felt rushed. I also appreciated the private room for little ones first time and an employee even came in just to hold my phone so he could see and hear his favorite songs to help him through the cleaning which honestly took just a few minutes for the whole thing and as soon as it was done they brought out a bubble blower that helped him quickly get over being upset about getting his teeth brushed. The bathroom was beautiful and clean as was the front waiting area which was colorful and had many activities for toddlers and older children and best of all giant vending machines that your child gets a special token to use after they are done- his adorable rubber duck from the machine quickly brought a smile to his face! The also take and provide you with a cute first visit dental photo printed out -it has a qr code to download the file- what more could you ask for!? The employees at the front desk also went above and beyond helping us check to see if another insurance would have better coverage and now we can add him to one of our other policies to get coverage at a much higher rate!

So I made 2 appointments back to back one with Tyson's Pediatric Dentistry and one with Arlington Pediatric Dentistry for consultations. I called the TPD told the front desk lady who booked my appointment my concerns, provided my sons initial referral from the dental office we were referred to along with X-rays via email as requested. explained why I didn't go with the office (no sooner available dates) and told her i wanted to get him in soon after his consultation. She was VERY nice and scheduled me to come in that same day at 12 (I have to pull my son out of school). get to TPD (looks outdated and as if the owner doesn't care for his practice) we're told to wait and later brought back. Let me just said for a pediatric dental office the assistants were TERRIBLE not friendly, nervous and confused. She sits us down the Dr pop out of his office (there's only 2 dental chairs so the one closest to the wall/office door) he's holding the referral looks up at me as says "why are you here today" . I respond and state for his consult possible cavities and crowns. He says "why didn't you get it done here" points at the paper. I respond "personal reasons" he said "well what happened" at this point I'm HOT. So my response was "we're here to consult with you, what happened at another practice shouldn't concern your appointment with us today". He brushed her off and told her do the X-rays came out the room waved for the front desk to come into his office so atp my son and I are standing around for about 7 minutes clueless and confused all this over a question about availability appointments. Anyway the front desk said within a week so we do to X-rays. He's taken back to the dental chair and the nurse says so your all done. WHATTTTTT??? I look at her and said "ma'am is he not going to come out and examine my son for a treatment plan? " she said hold on and knocked on his door LOL he told her he did it to look on the screen. WOW. So she told me and I asked is this with or without the gas mask, she turned around knocked on the door for yet more guidance. I chuckle and say never mind it please just send me the X-rays. We go upfront and the SAME lady says the next available we have is a month from now. ‍ I look at her say please email me the X-rays we won't be doing business with your practice. (Dr walked out of his office mugs me and processed to walk past me) I pulled my son out of school for this mess it was literally a waste of time. In conclusion the next morning we had our appointment with APD we arrive super friendly staff gave him a toy at arrival. We consult with the nurse who asks questions first takes a look at old X-rays and new ones from day prior with TPD and then the Dr comes in and does her consult and gives us her plan. Everything was VERY professional and amazing. I then say to her how soon could he come in? Her and the assistant look on their screen turn to me and say we can get him started today. This was just a blessings. I literally was thrilled and relieved all in one sitting they were so attentive!!!!!! We got his cleaning and second appointment scheduled for 2 weeks after. I came to doctor Roca in AUGUST of 2024 with symptoms I'd been dealing with my whole life. Stuffy nose upon waking, sleep apnea, TIRED ALL OF THE TIME, sinus pressure when I was sick, not able to fully breathe through my nose even AFTER a septoplasty, and CHRONIC headaches since my teens. I had gone to so many medical professionals for help with my headaches, including a neurologist that pretty much just dismissed me. I'd looked at my diet, saw a naturopathic doctor, went to acupuncture, gotten massages, seen a chiropractor, but the headaches till persisted. It wasn't until I went and had a consultation with Doctor Roca that my mind was BLOWN with what was really the underlying cause to all of my lifelong symptoms. She very confidently said we needed to expand my maxilla and nasal cavity via a MARPE device because of how small my jaw was... and the rest is history! She doesn't just expand the jaw and leave you to your own devices. She requires CONSTANT weekly check-ins from you. Each person's program is customized specifically to your needs. She has me seeing a physical therapist to realign lifelong imbalances due to my skull sitting improperly on my spinal cord because of the incorrect jaw position and lack of oxygen to my brain. She tests your sleep apnea, scans your teeth multiple times, and she also has you under the care of a myo-functional therapist towards the end of your expansion to re-teach your tongue how to work properly after a life of not knowing how with a narrow airway. I was so blown away by Dr. Roca and her progressive knowledge and deep passion for her work, that my son is also getting expanded as well at the age of 3! (Chronic mouth breather...He's now 4 and the happiest little kid!) Like I said, 5 stars does NOT do Dr. Roca and her team justice. Before and after the cleaning she explained why she was recommending X-rays and the three issues she'd identified, stating that she would confirm the level of urgency via the X-rays. The equipment used was modern and Dr. Gul provided a thorough assessment of my teeth and gums based on the X-rays. In the end, she explained that she would continue to monitor the situations vs. take immediate action and counseled me on how to avoid making things worse.
