Due to a family death, I couldn't make one fitting. So was mailed the waistcoat 3 weeks before my wedding, it was too big. Sent photos to be told it'd 'flatten out after a pressing'. I pushed to get the alterations I wanted. It came back fitting much better but they took in the sides not just the darts I asked for, making it a bit tight over the hips. Also no pockets. I couldn't unpick them. This was super frustrating as I specifically asked for a pocket watch pocket. I was told 'all of our pockets open' yet when I took it to a local tailor he couldn't find any pocket and had to put in a small pocket for me. I also never got the embroidery I asked for of both of our initials and the date, not on my waistcoat inner collar or shirt. When I mentioned this, it was never responded to. I feel as soon as I paid my last payment (just before my waistcoat was posted out to me) they dropped me like I was too much trouble. I would of thought 7 months would be plenty of time, but 5 days out and it's not what I paid for. So dissapointed as I paid over $2000, I will never use or recommend these people to anyone ever. It seems all the men are happy they just can't cope with women's bodies, no matter what they tell you.

As a testament to Mariana Hardwick craftsmanship, she was still looking beautiful, but after all that travel, heat and a bit of mud (our wedding was outdoors), it was definitely time for some care. When the people at MH insisted that Ferrari Wedding Gown Cleaners were the best in the biz for delicate fabrics, I knew they had to be good. Ferrari is totally across town from their store, so this wasn't a case of plugging their neighbor. They were right. Ferrari made my dress look absolutely new. It's beautifully pressed and preserved in acid-free tissue, stored very neatly in a white box, with easy care instructions affixed to it (which the lady detailed to me in person). They also held it for me for a few weeks after it was done, without hassling me in any way. It takes time (at least a few weeks) and can be a bit pricey depending on fabric. And it is a bit of a drive from the city (but there's a little parking lot outside. And! You can drive thru). All things considered, absolutely worth it.

My partner and I are both in hospo so we wash our clothes quite regularly. One day while I was there doing my laundry, I had three 2.00$ coins and the washing machines only cost 5$/load. Instead of bothering the ladies for the exact change, I saw that there was a return slot under the coin slot so I put in my 6$ with the expectation that I would receive my change. The machine did not return my coin and when I let the ladies working there know of what happened they responded saying there was nothing they could do about it and "they have nothing to do with the machines". After hearing this ridiculous, unprofessional response I simply walked away as it was only 1$. If you offer a service for 5$ but refuse to refund your customers who overpay, I view that as stealing. I can no longer give this company my business and would recommend to others to find a place where the owners treat their customers with respect and fairness.

Unlike the chain stores that have been dominating the clothing alterations market in recent years, the service at Brunswick Alterations is personable and practical. The staff will patiently explain the limitations in what can and can't be done. It's also very reasonably priced, although I've never had anything too complicated or high end done. They're also relatively fast. Brunswick Alterations is definitely worth a look in for all your clothing adjustment needs.
