We hired him to…read morerestore and re-dye a high-end Italian-made leather sofa, chair and ottoman, a one-day job, he assured us, by a craftsman, he promised. After the first day, he left the sofa and chair cushions all in a pile in our family room, scruffed up and taped for dyeing, the ottoman dyed a bright ugly green vs the original blue-ish green he was to rematch - destroying the set completely. It's 21 days since we've heard from him, despite repeated attempts. He not only left without completing the work he started, but also subjected us to one no-show after another plus constant ranting and raving and mumbling about his phone being tapped, his personal woes and more. We were patient with him, we fed him, we gave him space to get his act together, all for nothing except the loss of a leather set of a quality just not found anymore. Perhaps he once was a real craftsman but in 2024, do NOT fall for his promises.
