At the Academy of Gulf Breeze, they were very nice and patient in explaining the various techniques. I felt at home training with the class and comfortable doing the ogoshi throw and various floor holds, even as the only woman. As someone who has lifted weights her entire life, I value instructors who teach proper form and explain the importance of engaging certain muscles when performing an exercise. Sensei Jeremy is really dedicated to teaching the art of judo to and runs the studio in a very professional manner. The studio is extremely nice and filled with the basic amenities (e.g. mats, bathroom, water station, storage area). I will definitely return to this studio and I recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent place to learn self defense and/or get a great workout.

While I was there, the curriculum focused on strong fundamentals and that's why I elected to stay. This is the perfect place for those looking to build a solid foundation in jiu jitsu in the Pensacola area. David will teach you the textbook execution of jiu jitsu and provide skillful insight on what he finds the most successful. He is also open minded to new techniques without the ego that I often find at some gyms. All the training partners were friendly and provided a great learning environment for all levels. If you are new, there is a strong group of white belts that you can join your jiu jitsu journey with. The gym is well maintained and always clean. I haven't been back since he started compelling me to practice Karate only, a side sport for fun for me. The staff is very knowledable when it comes to Karate, and I'm sure they'll forget more then I'll ever learn. Great for the kids. I'm going to miss mentoring them.
