This course is challenging! I just hipe they maintain it well ober the summer! I like the staff! Golf pros are very accommodating!

I play a good amount of course around western MA and CT and Topstone is always one of my favorites. For the price I can't think of many that are as good or better. Conditions are great, layout is great, and environment is great. The only downside is the sometimes slow play, but on a nice day I can live with that. read more

Love this course. It's always in great shape. The surroundings are beautiful. Prices are very fair. Not sure what else to say. Just play! And eat. The food is quite good-Evelyn they don't have any vegan options other than a simple salad or two. I got a basket of fries and onion rings. They were salted so perfectly. I don't know how they did it. Better wear your hard hat when you play here. Almost got hit twice in the first nine holes. Guy sliced his drive way right into our fairway and missed me by a couple of feet and didn't even yell a warning. One hole later 2 women playing behind us hit onto the green we were putting on from about 40 yards away. We asked them why they would do something like this and they just shrugged their shoulders. On August 12,2017 I hosted an 80th birthday party for our mother in their downstairs banquet room. I was sooooo pleasantly surprised on how tasteful the food was and it's presentation was just as wonderful. We had a wine bar that was a great hit with our guests. The staff was exceptionally professional and was very attentive to each and every need or request. I personally would highly recommend this facility for any type of gathering wether it is with 10 people or 70 like ours was. A big kudos to your restaurant staff for an unforgettable evening!!!! I play this course twice a week almost every week from the time they open until they close for the season. Topstone's condition rarely varies with the exception of aerating which even then has minimal impact. For the money, you will not find a better shape public course in the state of CT. What makes the experience even better is how accommodating, friendly and professional the entire staff is- from the head pro, Casey to all the starters and rangers. This claim most certainly includes the restaurant staff at the "Three seasons" restaurant and bar. Restaurant & bar atmosphere matches the course condition and staff treatment, second to none! If you want a friendly non-patronizing experience while being treated like a private club member without private club rates, then you must play Topstone! I'd give this course 6 stars if I could. I have played this course for years and it is consistantly in great condition. Greens, Fairways and Tee Boxes are country club quality. This course also drains very well. You can play on it after days of rain and your feet will not get wet. Casey (Pro Shop) and Gary (superintendent) do a great job on both ends of the spectrum and the restaurant serves great club house food and drink. You can't go wrong and the price is right. Neil R. The golf course itself is not an issue.The lack of adhering to guidelines during the pandemic is. No one wears masks or gloves. You are encouraged to share a cart. If you do not you will pay a premium fee for a single rider. The lack of understanding during this difficult time amazes me. Even though our state is doing well that does not me we should be lax. We should encourage business to stay vigilant and protect their clientele. I will not patronize this course any time soon. read more

Great local course. Regardless of the weather conditions, this place is well groomed and dry. Only downside is that there isn't a range.

This is a great course. Quite open but lots of sand traps and they keep the course in great shape.

I have never played golf here before. The course layout was confusing at times (between the 3rd and 5th holes, especially). We had mistakenly skipped over a couple of holes, being informed by a couple of players of our error (they too had made this mistake when they first play this course due to it being poorly marked). After a couple of hours of play, we thought we were on the last hole. A staff member hurried out and yelled out our names, informing us that if we intended on playing another 9 holes, we had to pay for it first. I stared at this guy dumbfounded. I thought to myself: "we haven't even finished the 9th hole. Why would he be accusing us of "stealing" another round." He then pointed out that we were on the 10th hole and that we had only paid for 9 holes. His tone was accusatory and condescending AND he acted this all out loudly in front of a dozen or so people waiting behind us. We felt publicly humiliated. The jerk could easily have come to us quietly and informed us of our error. Too say the least, we promptly left. I refuse to give my money to establishments that treat their customers this way. This guy should be fired. I'm insuring I let others know of this incident. I won't return and my golfing friends have also scratched Topstone off their list. read more

Topstone is tops in every area but one; they are TOPS in: course maintenance; excellent fairways and reasonable rough starter, friendly and clear about course expectations ranger golf cart girl restaurant, excellent choice of hot dogs, burgers, beers, and great lemonade greens fees $36 for seniors and this included a $5 chit for restaurant. well manicured greens, and oftentimes, subtle breaks, but very fair. The only drawback and it might be a deal breaker for a second round was the pace of play. It was probably our longest 18 in the last couple of years. We had to wait on every hole, and on the par threes, there were two groups on all the tees when we rolled in. We are accustomed to going around in about 3 &1/2 hours; today, it was closer to five hours. read more

This is one of my two favorite places to play. The greens are always in terrific shape, and it always makes me use a lot of the clubs in my bag. The traps have real sand in them (not concrete like some places) and a good shot is always rewarded. They encourage playing in reasonable time so you can fit in a round in the evening late in the fall. Finish off with a drink and a good meal in the grill and you have a very good day to look back on. read more

The course is well maintained and very playable for the average golfer. It is very playable just hours after heavy rains and their fall leaf removal keeps lost balls to a minimum. As a 20+ handicapper it's nice that Topstone has wide fairways and large greens. It's challenge lies in (well maintained) bunker placement with the need to fly onto most of the greens. Pricing is fair, Casey, the Pro, and his staff are very pleasant to deal with and restaurant serves great food (they have a hot lobster roll that is as good as it gets). read more

Topstone golf course is a very good place to play and dine after golf. The course is always maintained well with excellent greens. The only drawback is in the course design. Not enough thinking was put into car paths which causes delay and "traffic jams" on some holes. This is particularly difficult for golfers who have a physical problem like myself. But all in all a good golfing experience. read more

Great public course, centrally located, and nice scenic layout, especially in the fall. Quality of the greens compares to some private clubs, and while there are bunkers fronting a number of greens, the sand is consistent and good shotmaking is always rewarded. Nice vibe in the restaurant, with good selection of drinks & food. Golf pro and his assistants are pleasant, helpful and bring a good sense of humor regardless of what score you shoot. read more
