Their special , and what they are renouned for, are their sizzling steak lunches ( circa £5.99 and available until 6.00pm ).
It is absolutely first class - the sirloin steak is cooked on a cast iron platter, with fresh chips, tomatoes,peas and onions. You will be hard pushed to get a steak dinner anywhere in the UK, both at this price, and for deliciousness.
They have a good choice of ales, I normally opt for Guinness or Bombardier Ale, with my sizzling steak. The landlord John is a no-nonsense, but very friendly chap, and his staff, are extremely friendly also, especially Bev.
A well earned 10 out of 10, and another member of the Best Of British pub grub list. Try it, you won't regret it.
