Everything was very efficiently ran with great customer service - from booking online and finding the location (they have a tent labelled "Parasail Ontario" right by the dock near the lighthouse at Port Credit), to getting outfitted with the PFD lifejackets, getting on the boat, and the whole experience. The person manning the tent and helping with check-ins was super friendly and helpful. You can choose to leave your shoes or sandals on the dock or boat when you do the parasailing (depending on whether you opt for the "dip toes in the water" experience). Don't carry a large backpack or anything big on the boat, as there isn't a lot of space. Everything was on time and on the dot - so be sure to get there at least 15 minutes early to check in, sign waivers, put on PFDs, and get briefing. There were 9 passengers on the boat, and we took turns doing the parasailing (about 10 minutes for each group of 2 or 3). 2 staff were on board - 1 person to steer the boat as captain, and 1 person to help the passengers get outfitted with harness, work the rope, etc. I loved the upbeat hip-hop music on the boat. We felt very secure and stable while up there... very relaxing and you can have conversations (didn't feel or sound too windy). Great view of the surrounding water and city from up above. If you purchase the video package, you get to hold a GoPro in a waterproof case and mounted on a selfie stick for the duration of your parasail adventure. Then they give you the Micro SD card and an adapter to take home. I totally recommend this adventure experience 100%!

On another parasailing adventure, the staff took photos for us and they were excellent and required 0 effort on our part. Really would have preferred this over making us all do the go pro. But it didn't ruin my experience or anything just wasn't my preference. Overall, I highly recommend this experience!

Located by Casimir Gwozski park, you can get a new view of the Toronto skyline and enjoy the cool lakeshore breeze in a highly unique experience. We got some epic sunset views for our visit! We rented the tandem water bike, which has a paddle board between the bike seats. You do not have to peddle in sync, which is always nice. There are baskets on the bike for small bags and other accessories. The bikes are very stable on the water and easy to maneuver. There is a break wall by the beach where you can paddle within if the lake is a bit rougher on your visit. The staff there are very friendly and helpful with information about the bikes. If the water bike isn't your style, they also have kayaks. Just a note: your waiver must use your full government name on your ID, including any middle names.

Unfortunately my Co2 inflator malfunctioned: I had a repaired tire but no air. A quick online search showed that Dream Cyclery was just a few blocks away. I knew as a reputable shop that they would have air available for those who need it in a pinch. And yes, as I arrived, there was the air hose as I had hoped. Noticing it was only Schraeder-ready I went into the shop to borrow an adapter and say thanks for the rescue. No thanks needed. Just 5 bucks. That's right, any cyclist with Presta valves must pay for the tiny brass adapter in order to use the "free air." The staffer seemed embarrassed to be charging me $5 for a piece that costs no more than a nickel. With the next nearest bike shop a significant walk away, I had no other choice. How chintzy is that! It wouldn't be so obnoxious if they were charging a dollar to cover the cost of providing them, or asking for a donation to a favourite charity (Cycle Toronto?) but this feels likes mean-spirited gouging. Looks like a nice shop. Sorry I will not be visiting again.

[ the story ] I wanted to take my parents on a 40km long Sunday bike ride from The Brickworks down to Cherry St (on the lower Don Trail), across the city out to Humber Bay and Mimico (on the Martin Goodman Trail), and back. On Friday night at 6pm I called Danielle at Sweet Pete's Brickworks to ask why the Sunday rental slots on their website were greyed out; she explained that there was a group event on Saturday who had taken out all the bikes, and they weren't sure what time they'd be getting them back. She took my email and phone number and promised to look into the time they'd be returned, and to let me know when she had opened up the rental slots on the website. Two hours later I got an email from her, went online to book the bikes (3 Kona splices - hybrids), and showed up on Sunday with my parents. (By the way there is $8/day parking at the Brickworks lot on weekends - pretty good!) When we arrived we discovered that the Medium Kona Splice was too big for all of us (we're a short family), and they only have two Small Kona Splices, so they agreed to let us switch the Medium Kona Splice out for a mountain bike instead, which we were super grateful for. The bikes themselves rode like a dream - super smooth gear changes, maneuvered well, and kept in great condition. I even got mud all over the mountain bike when someone took a turn too sharply and ran me off the path, and Adam was super understanding. I offered to clean the bike off and he told me not to worry about it. [ verdict ] No, it's not cheap like one of those dinky fixed-gear lakeshore rentals, but so worth it for the great service and the great bikes! We'll definitely be coming back here.
