Raleigh 21-speed bike... Pretty comfy ride enough for 4 hours
    Aimee H.

This is a review of just the bike rental itself as we skipped out on the tour. We reserved in advance and the bikes were ready and adjusted roughly to our heights when we arrived. The bikes are comfortable even after almost 4 hours of riding. They come with 21-speeds, a clear ringing bell, a bottle cage and a kick stand. Both picking up and returning them was super easy. We opted for this option for $40/person for the day even though the Toronto Bike Share is cheaper at $7/person for the day pass just because we wanted to avoid having to check in and out bikes every 30 min to avoid the $4 overage fees.

Did the am Toronto Islands tour and it was A+ the whole way. Bikes were ready to go as soon as we arrived and it's an easy ride from the office to the ferry. You start early to avoid the crowds, which was a good call considering how long the ferry lines were when we got back. The ferry ride over provides stunning views of downtown Toronto. When we went in May the mask mandate was still in effect on public transportation but you were able to remove them as soon as you got off the ferry. The ride around the island is leisurely with no big hills. There are multiple stops so the guides can tell you stories about the history of the islands. You ride along the boardwalk, through neighborhoods, over a couple of bridges, and past numerous beaches and parks. Terrance and Liam took good care of us. Would gladly recommend them to anyone visiting Toronto.

This bicycle tour was incredible! A fabulously comprehensive look at all the major sections of downtown Toronto. (my fitness tracker showed we were actively riding for about 75 minutes/8 miles, with lots of stops/talks. Hills were minimal). The bikes are in great condition: sturdy + effortless gear shifting. The guide (Jim) was fun and very knowledgeable about the city's history (with great recommendations for things to do) I'd recommend this as a day ONE adventure to all Toronto visitors, as it is certain to fill out your "must do" list while in town!

Jenny and Buzz were amazing tour guides. You'll see places that you would not see on foot or by car. Highly recommended.

The tour is about an hour which is the perfect amount of time for this area as it isn't huge. We had 4 other people with us so it was a pretty small tour. Our guide Caeli was great. She was enthusiastic and really had a passion for the city and it's history. She was half the fun of the tour. We learned a lot in a small amount of time. The tour ended with a couple of samples of chocolate from SOMA, which were incredible and led to us going back and purchasing some chocolates. There were also some beer samples included, and while we could have walked in and got samples on our own it was fun to do it with the group and to have Caeli's commentary while we sampled some of the different offerings. I would highly recommend the tour for anyone who is interested in history.

tl;dr: Great rentals, great service from Danielle and Adam, worth the price. Definitely coming…read moreback. [ the story ] I wanted to take my parents on a 40km long Sunday bike ride from The Brickworks down to Cherry St (on the lower Don Trail), across the city out to Humber Bay and Mimico (on the Martin Goodman Trail), and back. On Friday night at 6pm I called Danielle at Sweet Pete's Brickworks to ask why the Sunday rental slots on their website were greyed out; she explained that there was a group event on Saturday who had taken out all the bikes, and they weren't sure what time they'd be getting them back. She took my email and phone number and promised to look into the time they'd be returned, and to let me know when she had opened up the rental slots on the website. Two hours later I got an email from her, went online to book the bikes (3 Kona splices - hybrids), and showed up on Sunday with my parents. (By the way there is $8/day parking at the Brickworks lot on weekends - pretty good!) When we arrived we discovered that the Medium Kona Splice was too big for all of us (we're a short family), and they only have two Small Kona Splices, so they agreed to let us switch the Medium Kona Splice out for a mountain bike instead, which we were super grateful for. The bikes themselves rode like a dream - super smooth gear changes, maneuvered well, and kept in great condition. I even got mud all over the mountain bike when someone took a turn too sharply and ran me off the path, and Adam was super understanding. I offered to clean the bike off and he told me not to worry about it. [ verdict ] No, it's not cheap like one of those dinky fixed-gear lakeshore rentals, but so worth it for the great service and the great bikes! We'll definitely be coming back here.
