La Torre de los Ingleses was built in 1916, it is Buenos Aires version of the Big Ben. The tower was constructed by Englishmen and the materials came from the United Kingdom. During the time the tower was often the victim of graffiti and fires on the base of the monument. As a signal of rage against the UK.
The Torre Monumental is open weekdays from 10:30 until 4:30 & weekends from 09:30 until 6:30. The entrance fee is around $4 but free on Wednesdays. Happily, there's an elevator because it's brutally hot today. The views from the top were lovely, we walked outside & around the tower. Sights were identified on the glass. read more
