Stars is great, it's like a step back in time for me as the general shop is still the same as it was when I was a little kid in the 80's. You can buy magazines and newspapers from here, as well as a small selection of groceries such as tea bags, sugar, Oxo cubes, Pot Noodle and things like that. Prices on the groceries are a little higher than other local shops, but I love the fact that I can be in Stars buying my mags and also get a few essentials without having to brave the queues in the Co-Op next door. They also sell stationery, a selection of cheapo pocket money toys (and don't knock them, they're a lifesaver when it comes to distracting the kids), greetings cards and lots of other bits and pieces that I couldn't possibly remember or list at the moment. This branch sells a bit of everything, in a good way it reminds me of a bric-a-brac shop because looking around the shop you'll see little unusual things that you want to buy for absolutely no reason at all. Another excellent thing about Stars is their Christmas club. Around May they'll start putting the Christmas catalogues out which you can take home to look at. When you've decided what you want to buy you order it at the till and you'll be able to pay however much you want each week, providing the balance is paid by the beginning of December. Then a week before Christmas simply pop into the shop and pick up your goods. The shop is laid out well and also houses a Post Office which is convenient for me, it's completely wheelchair friendly although turns can be a little tight towards the back of the shop so beware of this.

this is a small newsagents part of west heath shops. the size of the shop is small which limits the…read moreamount of items they can sell. they have a good magazine section and will reserve weekly/monthly editions for you. they also offer a newspaper delivery service. they sell cards, gift wrap and stationery and the usual confectionery and a small range of toys. they have recently added a small range of alcohol but personally i think that this eats up valuable space and is unnecessary as they is an off license a few doors up. they prices are more expesive than a supermarket but no higher than you would expect from a small shop. they do the lottery. major problem is the amount of space. it is difficult to get into the shop with a pushchair because of a heacy door and step. Once you are in it is hard to get round the shop as the aisles are very narrow. The staff are pleasant but you can queue for quite a while during busy times due to only 2 staff being on.

The main downside to this shop is its quite pricey, but its situated over the road from a pub so the main custom are probably intoxicated anyway!

It is a really useful shop to have it will provide you with pretty much everything you need i.e sweets, papers etc. The prices are really cheap and the customer interaction is good staff are really friendly. It isn't the biggest of shops so do expect it to be fairly cramped especially when the school kids are out on there lunch time but if you manage to miss them then its fine.

The staff are genrerally helpful. They store is usually well equiped and well lit too. They are open quite long hours so suit many peoples needs and it is open late and early. They do a good range of food stuff for a newsagents so if you are only popping out for a fe bits it's a good place to go. The prices are pretty resonable too although a little more than somewhere like tesco.

Located just above New Street Station in the Pallasades shopping centre, Newsflow is a small,…read moreunassuming newsagent. However, despite its appearances, don't be fooled. If I'm every after a drink, snack, or something to read on the train, I always head here instead of the much larger Smiths down on the station concourse. Newsflow's main selling point is the surprisingly expansive selection of magazines that they have on offer, with more than their wall space seems capable of holding. The prices haven't been ramped up with the proximity to the station in mind, either (a sharing bag of sweets retails for less than £2, which is competitive for anywhere, even large supermarkets), and the staff are always friendly. Even better, there's rarely a queue, meaning it can often prove to faster to go upstairs to Newsflow and then come back down to catch your train than it is to go to the nearby Smiths and queue for five minutes.

There was even a personal door-opening service when I visited. I'm not sure if the door is opened for every customer. I'd like to think they were just being chivalrous towards me personally, but in fact I think they were probably just wondering what the heck I was doing loitering outside their shop, taking photos of the front. That said, I was personally escorted out the door on the way out also, so they can't have been that suspicious. This seems extremely well stocked, if not a little bafflingly so: in a sort of 'Is it a newsagent? Is it a cafe? Is it a stationers? Is it a home store?' way. But then again, better to have too much stuff than too little, I suppose. The sandwich ingredients didn't look amazing, I have to say. But I appreciated the slightly random doorman service.

It is fairly roomy inside and I popped in just to grab a few bits and bobs for my evening; so mainly snacks and girly magazines! The staff in there were really friendly and very polite, which always makes a nice change these days. I found what I wanted fairly quickly and ended up buying lots of junk food and about three magazines. They put it all in a bag for me and asked me what I had planned for the evening (although I think they could guess I had no exciting plans). Overall, I think that this is a really good store, it stocks more than expected and the staff are very pleasant.

It's only a small shop but does sell all sorts and they are usually quite helpful and friendly. They are usually open quite late too. It's a very handy shop for locals and it is on a street with a few other things close by like a chippy and butchers so you can go and get a loaf of bread for your chip butty.

It's a great little newsagents which I believe is part of a chain, but this branch is absolutely brilliant. They have a large selection of magazines and newspapers which is great for me as I love my trashy celeb mags, the magazines are laid out logically which is great compared to the newsagents nearby who seems to think it's a good idea to place Heat magazine next to Coarse Fishing books! They have a couple of fridges stocked with a nice selection of soft drinks which are reasonably priced and always well stocked. The 'munchies' section is the best part of Supercigs; they sell a brilliant range of crisps, boxed cakes, chocolate bars, sweets, chewing gum and bagged sweets. My daughters' love the bagged sweets because as well as the usual pineapple chunks and jelly beans they can also choose more exciting sweets such as chocolate Brazil nuts or dried banana chips. The sweets are all very reasonably priced, not just the bagged ones but across the board in this branch. The use-by dates are aways a way off in the future so I'm not such how they can offer such large discounts, but on my last visit I bought multi-packs of Monster Munch for £1 and a bag containing six Cadbury's chocolate bars for just 99p! My kids love it in here because the couple of quid I give them for sweets lasts so much further than if they spent it in the Co-Op. You can also buy greetings cards in here and in the centre of the shop are usually some discount baskets which can hold anything from kids' gardening sets (£1.99, although this was a couple of Summers ago) to huge boxes of marshmallows. Another thing I love about this branch of Supercigs is the fact that I can pay all my bills in there, it's a Paypoint outlet so any bill I have which requires a card or statement for payment I would simply hand over for them to scan and pay the money owed with no charges for this service. Saves a trip to the bank, and believe me I'd much rather be in a shop than a bank!
