We were met by a compere that had the cheek to say there may not be any tables available, after letting him know that over half the restaurant was empty I wouldn't think that was a problem. No one likes to be made to look silly and he wasn't very friendly after that. That was the last problem with unfriendly staff as our water was so delightful. He did really make our day with his upbeat personality and we ended up having a good laugh with him. I do believe that this Chiquito does take aways too, which includes the full menu. I'm not sure the Cardiff Centre one does that, don't quote me on that though.

The menu itself is stocked full of 'Mexican' dishes, although typically these consist of the more Westernised meals like fajitas and nachos, rather than genuinely authentic Mexican cuisine. Perfectly edible and tasty, the meals aren't anything to write home about. I do enjoy Mexican food particularly, but I wouldn't rank this as much higher than anything I could prepare for myself at home. Who knows, maybe i'm just a great chef.
