This was a quick, sit-down place within the market center. I got the chicken with mole and the grounded beef tostados and loved the beef one. There's a good amount of ingredients on top! I didn't love the mole one because I was hoping for a stronger sauce. The service was very kind and fast! Loved the server's attitude.
I had a chance to try this cute place in the Coyoacán market after visiting the Frida kahlo museum! This was one of my favorite markets and I must say the tostadas here were amazing. If there's a place to try street food this one's a good option. Now the service here is fast, and it's an extremely casual place. A nice stop over honestly for a quick snack. This place specializes in tostadas so definitely get plenty of those! Between my brother and I we shared the following flavors: *chicken tinga - this was our FAVORITE. So flavorful and yummy and went so so so well with the salsas. We could not stop eating this one *cochinita pibil - this was also well seasoned and flavored, the meat was tender and juicy and the marination was on point * shrimp - this was like a ceviche on top and gosh it was yummy and flavorful! They do not skimp on the toppings here Overall, really good food and a great place to stop over!!
Hands down the best camaron tostadas I've ever had! ilIt had the perfect saltiness to it and they have the freshest shrimps! It was also best paired with agua fresca: jamaica! Everything was refreshing! This was located in the heart of Coyoacan market and you won't miss it since it has the brightest yellow signs! We'll definetely be back!
Heard about this place from a friend! It's located in the coyoacan market and has many yellow decorations. The tostadas were delicious and so was the horchata. I liked the pulpo (octopus) the best and we also tried the mole chicken which is a little bit spicy. The bistek of beef steak was okay. Overall, i highly recommend this place!
Nestled inside of the Mercado de Coyoacan, this booth specializes in, well, tostadas obviously. They have more options, but with so many tostadas, you should go for it. They have mole, tinga de pollo, cochinita pibil, pulpo, etc. My boyfriend had a mushroom one since that's the only veg one. He said it was tasty. I really enjoyed the salpicón, which is beef, tomato, onion, and vinegar. They give you a red and green salsa. I was told the green was VERY hot, but I piled it atop my tostada and it was delicious. They also have great agua frescas with many different fruits, including tuna, which is cactus flower. I got maracuya. They even have sinks with soap to wash your hands! So pleasant after eating something messy (and during covid).

We were promptly seated and ordered chicken mole, pulpo (octopus), and chapulines (grasshopper) tostadas. We were a little bit nervous about eating at a market, but the food was tasty and didn't cause any stomach problems. The chapulines, while intriguing, were not as delicious as the other two. If you're wondering what they taste like, imagine a less umami shrimp skin doused in a lot of lime juice. The octopus and the mole tostadas were very good, and if I were to come back, I would definitely be trying the ceviche tostadas. Overall, a bang for your buck and well worth your time!
Tostadas Coyoacan is known for the best tostadas in Mexico City - and these did not disappoint. They were definitely worth trying while in the Coyoacan neighborhood and market, as this place is popular for their fresh, heaping toppings. My partner and I were at the Coyoacan Market and after having read about Tostadas Coyoacan from many travel sites and articles, I knew I wanted to save my appetite at the market for this very spot. Located right in the center of the market, it wasn't hard to find. Plus, there were huge signs and plenty of bar counter seats available. For my first order, I tried the chicken mole and the shrimp tostadas. They were piled high as I had heard about and were more filling than expected. Of the two, I loved the shrimp one! I could easily tell the shrimp was fresh, and enjoyed the shredded lettuce and avocado with it. The chicken mole was also good, and would recommend for anyone who likes mole. Tostadas were also crunchy and surprisingly, they held up the pile of toppings pretty well. In addition to the long menu of different tostadas they offer, they also provide fresh, fruit juices. Note that this is also right next door to another tostadas vendor, so double check you're at this one if this is the one you're seeking! I'm also glad they accepted card here. Great spot for tostadas.
i took a day trip to Coyoacan and ended up walking around the Coyoacan Market. while it was packed with tourists, it also shined a light on the local people on how they go about their daily lives. after walking around for a bit, and looking at all the different stalls, we saw that this place offered lots of seafood options, and more importantly, it was packed. Its located in the middle of the market, and the walls are painted bright yellow, so its hard to miss. we ended up getting 3 different tostadas and a passion fruit juice. Honestly, the best one i had was the mushroom and octopus one. Whatever you do, make sure you get it. I don't know why i didn't try the ceviche... but looking back i should've gotten that as well. If i ever go back to coyoacan, i'm 100% sure coming back to this place.
This tostada place is great. it has both a mixture of seafood and meats available. The pulpo was my favorite and my friends loved the cochinita pibil one. The especial de camaron was also a favorite. The staff was trying to get us to sit at a table before getting orders which wasn't obvious til a customer helped us with what was going on. You mark your orders on a list and then you get the food. The fruit drinks are very good and fresh. It is a very busy place so be prepared to wait or hawk an open spot. This is probably one of the better places to eat at the coyocan market and the biggest place in the market. read more
The most iconic food to try in the Coyoacan Market is tostadas, crispy fried tortillas topped with a choice of seafood, meat, or vegetables dishes, most of which were preprepared and ready to dish out at the counter. Being a seafood fan, I had the Ceviche, chopped white fish in an acidic marinade, mixed with tomatoes, onions, and herbs, served with guacamole and topped with shredded lettuce; as well as the Pulpo, chopped octopus tentacles mixed with the same refreshing ingredients! Both tostadas were simple but delicious, and the prices were so cheap for the quality and flavor. read more
Came back to the Coyoacan Market on my recent trip to Mexico City and had to as always grab a pulpo tostada. Fresh as always, it was a nice snack and pretty light with the salad and avocado on top. I always love their salsas too and the melon agua fresca was great as well! read more

The place specializes in tostadas. It's is very popular and always packed. The seafood on the tostadas was very fresh. Friendly and efficient service. The drinks were very refreshing. Warning, the large drink is VERY LARGE. read more

We had 4 different tostadas, all were tasty. My favorite was tinga de pollo, hubbys fave was shrimp. You can order one and if you feel like ordering more just order as you go. The longer you sit though you'll want to keep trying more! read more

In A Nutshell: -Make sure you bookmark Tostadas Coyoacan in CDMX. -This is probably the most famous place to eat delicious tostadas. -Located in the heart of the Coyoacan Mercado, just look for the bright yellow tables and stalls. -They take up a pretty big area, so finding a seat shouldn't be too much of a wait, but this place is very popular, so it won't be empty. -They are pretty organized, so you'll be seated. -The seats are tight, so don't be surprised if you rub elbows w/ your fellow tostada muncher. -The variety of tostadas are wide, the ones I enjoyed were the "tinga de polla", which is shredded chicken (highly recommended), the ceviche & the camarone (shrimp). -Of the three, I enjoyed the tinga de pollo the best. -Included in the meal is nice jugo de naranja (orange juice) which is very thirst quenching. -You also get a choice of some salsa's & some fresh lime. -I loved every bite of each tostada, the crunch is very addicting. Overall, I would come back again & I recommend trying this place out, then browse the multitude of stalls in the rest of the Coyoacan Market. read more
Amazing tostadas in the Mercado de Coyoacan. The booths are easy to find and service was fast and friendly. We tried a bit of everything, but our absolute favorite were the chicken mole. The agua frescas were also incredible! If you're in the neighborhood - maybe at Casa Azul like we were - I'd definitely recommend stopping by. read more

This place is no joke. The tostadas here are amazing. This place is located towards the back of the Mercado but you'll know when you reached it because it's bright yellow and there will be a lot a people sitting down in the high chairs. There was a line when we got here but it went by quickly. I recommend getting one of the juices here because it was very refreshing. read more

If you are in Coyoacan and looking for a good and very cheap tostada, go here. It is in the middle of the market and its very easy to find once you see all of the yellow, that is it. Ambiance/Service: Very simple and nothing fancy at all. It is in the middle of the market and is just for the tostadas, nothing else. The service is quick though. Food/Drink: I didn't have anything to drink here, but did have two tostadas, the tinga and the ceviche. Wasn't a huge fan of the ceviche one, but the tinga tostada was really good. Definitely recommend the tinga. read more

This place is such a hidden gem in the heart of the Coyoacán Market. I was blown away by the simplicity of the menu and the no-frills seating. Their tostadas are MAGIC and their juices are fresh. Though I wasn't a particular fan of my juice, I tried a couple of others and they are really just fresh. Inexpensive, authentic, and really everything that you should be looking for when traveling. read more

Tostadas Coyoacán is a neighborhood staple and it is a great experience for anyone visiting for the first or 50th time. You will need to walk into the market (mercado) and make your way through the different stalls until you find the famous yellow signs. It is a very popular spot, so be ready to wait for some stops to open. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes but splitting bigger groups might result in faster seating . As the name mentions, this place only sells tostadas. However there are 20 different types of tostadas to choose from, chicken, beef, pork, octopus, cheese, ceviche, you name it. My personal favorites are chicken tinga (spicy pulled chicken), ceviche and picadillo (ground beef) All tostadas are topped with cream cheese, lettuce and avocado. Don't miss it! read more

I wasn't too impressed by this spot. My wife and I ordered a chicken tostada with mole, a ceviche, and a shrimp. It was tasty, but we both didn't feel like this was worth the trip or the hype. There are a lot of options in the area. I also didn't feel too strongly about the cleanliness. The area where the food was being prepared had these large pots that had a lot of each type of tostada topping sitting around. I would give this place a 3/5. I wouldn't go out of your way for it, but if you're in the area and craving a tostada, it's a solid option. read more

Known as the best tostadas in CDMX for a reason. I've never had a bad bite here and the juices and smoothies are also fresh and delicious. The cochinita, mole, and ceviche tostadas are my go to and they're absolutely delicious. read more

This place -- four squares at a central pedestrian intersection deep inside the Coyoacan market -- is hard to miss given its bright carnary and red color scheme. The snap-and-crunch of tostadas made by the happy dinners perched on tiny stools around the counters is also a glue. I am glad to have been drawn in by the sound and sight. I had a ceviche tostada and a pollo, two varieties out of at least sixteen available. Two was all I could eat. They there delicious as served -- which was immediately even though the place was busy. Each tostada is served cold, as far as I could tell. Ordering is easy for the non-spanish speaker since you get a ticket and a pencil. No alcohol but my narjana aguas was also delicious and colorful just like everything at Tostadas Coyoacan. read more

After our visit to Museo Frida Kahlo late afternoon, we walked back to Mercado de Coyoacán to try this well known place that specialized in Tostadas. The lady who was taking care of our section quickly sit us down, and we started with 1 Tostadas De Camaron and 1 Tostada De Ceviche, with a cold Horchata to accompany. Although the price is relatively high for the locals, we find many visit this place to treat themselves. The locals were helping us get the Limes, and directed us to wash our hands at a nearby faucet. We feel helped and welcomed in Mexico City, and generally have friendly and positive experience with nice local people. The ingredients are super simple, but that's the magic and charm. We just love these Tostadas, especially with the variety of Salsas available that enhances the flavors. The Shrimp and Ceviche were so awesome. Vanessa and I were so absorbed in devouring those fresh seafood, with greens and avocado, on top of crispy toasted round Tortillas. I add another order of Tostada De Pulpo after we finished those two, and truly enjoyed this simple yet fulfilling snack. The visit to Tostadas Coyoacán was a wonderful and memorable experience for us. We want to go back and try all the other toppings available. Until next time then! read more
