Never going back. Here's why: I went in for a regular adjustment, nothing out of the ordinary. I regularly go to a Chiropractor, so I know the routine. Having been to Chiropractors over the last 20 years, I know when someone is good and when they're not. In my adjustment he only partially moved my neck, it wasn't even a complete neck adjustment. I asked if that was it and he said yes. That has never happened to me with any other Chiropractor. I've always had a full adjustment of my neck and back. I immediately knew I couldn't trust him, so I decided never to return. Weeks after my visit I got a bill for $64 dollars, which is after my insurance already paid the negotiated rates. Everyone's insurance is different, but I have good insurance that already paid $144 for 1 visit. With that insurance, I've never been billed this much for 1 visit from any other Chiropractor. I went back to my old Chiropractor and he told me this guy is taking advantage of me. There's a ton of Chiropractors out there, and I don't need to be paying that much for 1 visit. First I want to say my wife was right. She's been seeing Dr Schuester for years. My first visit I felt better but worse? Weird, right? Now I've seen him and his staff 3 times. WOW! Now I'm seeing why she's been going for 3 years. VERY friendly, caring and professional. First a massage, electro stim with a heat pad and then the adjustments. This was my first experience at a chiropractor and it was far beyond amazing! I tweaked my neck while lifting weights and was unable to move my head left or right. I have been a patient since August 2011. I started going to Total Athleticare due to severe lower back pain. I had gone to see two other chiropractors for this particular problem and I was not getting any relief. I decided to try one more place and I found a winner! Dr. Schuster and Dr. Barreyro are both great. You really get the sense that they both care about their patients' overall well-being. I have never been to another chiropractor that is as thorough as they are at Total Athleticare. Every visit consists of electric stimulation therapy, a spinal adjustment and massage. I haven't used this office since October of 2010. The chiropractor that I was going to isn't even in business anymore. I got a bill from them wanting money from my visits in 2010! When I called the office, some woman with a Minnie Mouse voice would not even listen to why I was angry. Um 1. The doctor that took care of me is GONE and 2. It's been 1 1/2 years since I even went into their offices! Why wasn't I billed previously? I was told by the office that the only charges we would receive was the copay. It's been nearly 2 years. I was having crippling neck pain right before my wedding abroad and I was extremely concerned about being on a plane for 15 hours in this condition. Luckily, they have convenient hours and I was able to get in on a Saturday at around 1pm. Bar none, Dr. B. is my healthcare go-to. Was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia several months ago and neurologists treat this with anti-seizure meds, which have awful side effects. Dr. B. adjusted me and from that point on I've had absolutely no more pain from TN...a miracle to be spared a lifetime of visits to the neurologist and horrible meds. The office setting is nice but they are a bit unprofessional. They have me a massage on a table with no coverings, not even to lay my face in so i just used my arm. When Dr. Schuster adjusrtes me the door is left open and it only takes him a total of 2 minutes each visit and he recommends I come everyday. Great place to go to for effective pain management. To be honest this is the next best chiropractic practice I have found in Schaumburg area after my original chiropractor from Functional Health and Chiropractic moved to Texas. The staff here is extremely helpful especially Diane and Victor who made sure that all my questions were answered. Last but not the least Dr. Barreyro was extremely patient and really took time to understand my problem and give me my prognosis. Even with a "non cooperative" (as I have problem relaxing my muscles during adjustment) patient like me she was extremely patient and made sure that the nerve that was pinching for me got adjusted and I got relieved of my pain to a good extent in just one session.
