Over the past 5 or 6 years I have been a loyal customer of Total Battery and have purchased 35 to 40 automotive batteries from their Barrie location. (Plus chargers, jump packs, and accessories). Without fail every year 2 or 3 batteries would develop a dead cell or fail to hold a charge and although an inconvenience I had returned them for replacement under warranty. This past Saturday (June 5th, 2021). I brought in 3 batteries to be checked for warranty. (Would only hold a surface charge). I also purchased 3 more new batteries. I was told that I would receive a call from the store in a couple days regarding the warranty claim. No calls Monday or Tuesday, so on the afternoon of the 9th (Wednesday) I called to request an update. The chap I spoke with told me that all 3 batteries had failed the testing. (2 with dead cells and 1 despite being an 800 caa battery was only delivering 600 caa). I said ya I knew they all had issues...and asked when can I come to get the replacement batteries? Thats when he told me that none of them would be replaced under warranty. I asked why and he said well the 600 cca was still within acceptable tolerances...to which I replied BS I purchased an 800 cca battery not a 600 cca battery. I then asked about the other 2 and he then said Oh it's because in reviewing my customer history I had a 33% failure/return rate. I asked what that had to do with myself or the warranty...he could not explain...simply said it was not his decision. I then asked to speak to a Manager...I was told that no Manager was available but that one would call me the following day. (Thursday the 10th)...it's now Friday evening 9:30 PM and still no call.
I have to tell you that as a customer who has given you my business, put up with the inconvenience of having 2 or 3 batteries a year fail to be treated like this is totally unacceptable and not in keeping with the "customer testimonials" that you so proudly post on your company's website.
I sincerely hope someone from Management or from the Corporate office reaches out to me to review and correct this transaction as if not...not only will you loose my patronage but I will be sure to share my experiences with anyone who cares to inquire.
