Sebastien Girard, the owner/operator, did much more than that. A piece of our luggage was delayed, and Sebastien made several calls and helped get us the missing bag. He was our transfer from the airport to the hotel, took us on wonderful tours of Peyrouge, the Beaujolais and Annecy, gave us suggestions for our time alone in Lyon, and was the highlight of our time in Lyon. He was punctual, charming, funny, and solicitous of our needs. His large 7 seater van was spotlessly clean and spacious enough for us and out luggage. Sebastien speaks perfect English, and is himself well travelled not only in France, but around the world. When we go back to The Beaujolais region we will not consider using anyone else.

I can't confirm whether that is only one session or if you can have multiple. I thought I initially saw one person smoking inside, but never saw another person. The bus station departure stalls are clearly labeled which is great. They also only have stock restaurant options upstairs, nothing too interesting for food.

The bike was in great condition and the pricing was very reasonable. We got a comfortable bike that could hold all of our belongings for day trips. We will definitely come back and rent again when we are in the area. It is quite a car ride to get here from downtown Lyon but it is totally worth it! Having the motorcycle was completely worth it in Europe! Gloves and helmets are required. We brought our own helmets and gloves but I believe they sell gloves and offer helmets for rent. They also supply you with a lock and safety vest if you desire. We used the lock but never stopped on the side of the highway to need the safety vests. I would recommend bringing your own phone mount for the bike. They offered one but it didn't fit our phones and wasn't very usable.

The first winery was a small family affair and the owner served us our wine and spoke extensively about the varieties he produces. It was intimate and educational. Vince told us all about himself which included all the places he has traveled to learn more about all wines! From Australia to South Africa to Oregon USA! He took the time to explain the winemaking process, show us the machines used, the storage area, etc. Vincent drove us by the worlds most beautiful vineyards and ended up at his very own wine shop which he opened a couple of years ago, during Covid people. We opted for the full day Beaujolais tour on a 2018 visit and our group of 7 people visited three excellent wineries showing different aspects of Beaujolais. Lunch was great as well, with excellent food on a beautiful outdoor patio space and an opportunity to get to know your group a little better. Next year, we'll be back for the Rhone tour if Vincent hasn't jetted off yet to make wine somewhere else in the world. You're likely to find a good number of Americans on this tour and people with all levels of wine knowledge, but Vincent does a great job of making the experience fun for everyone. I wouldn't want to maneuver his van around Lyon traffic all the time but he does it with aplomb. You'll be picked up outside your lodging, then dropped back off at the end of the day, likely with some wine to take home. After all, that's how the wineries make money so it's good courtesy to buy a couple of your favorite bottles at each stop. If you're considering a wine tour from Lyon, this is going to be one of your best bets. Bravo!

The beds are pretty hard and the floors are pergo. I liked that because carpet always grosses me out, especially in a place that allows pets. Slippers and robes in all rooms. I was on the top floor because that's always my preference. my travel partner was not and experienced the down side to pergo floors... someone upstairs not taking their shoes off and putting on the slippers. So, the food.... BEST HAMBURGER EVER! Part if it was just the fabulous bread everywhere in Lyon. The other was a bit of a twist on the cheese, pickle and dressing. I ate that FIVE nights. I ordered breakfast in my room every morning. Scrabmled eggs, sausage and coffee turned into a large tray with eggs, amazing sausage with pistachios in it, 4-6 mini croissants or some such pastries, the obligatory 3 kinds of bread, salted and unsalted butter, fresh juice, etc. I ate the hot food and took the rest for lunch and the office. (oink!) Only down side was in room coffee. Nescafe. Blech! I ended up seeking a grocery store and bought pre-sweetend and pre-flavored coffee (mocha). I don't much care for sweet coffee but I do like good coffee with real cream. Bad coffee with no cream was just beyond my tolerance. TV had only 2 english channels. The first was the fashion channel which held my interest for about 3 minutes. The other was broadcast from Japan and was in English (not dubbed) and had interesting stuff but only 3 things that played over and over and over again. I streamed Netflix on my laptop after giving up on my horrible French. That being said, it's super convenient to the airport, trains, etc. Way outside the city (I stayed in Lyon proper 4 days prior) Lyon is beautiful, charming and people are overall polite and friendly. They have earned their reputation as a culinary capital. Definitely want to go back!

The room became very hot as I realized that and called for help. They immediately acknowledged it's broken and moved me to the room next door which was nice and chilly. The restaurant offers a great, albeit expensive, buffet. The cold Mediterranean buffet is actually a huge giant meal with hot soup, potatoes, rice, meats, fish, shrimp, cheeses, deserts, nuts and the list goes on! €26 but worth it. The hot adds entrees for another €10ish but good luck fitting them in your tummy!! There is a gym and a Hammam (steam room!).

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Lucas and Abdel, two of the friendliest people we've met in all of France. They informed us we'd been upgraded to a beautiful suite with a partial view of the river. They also took time to provide us with a map of the city where the noted several landmarks and restaurants we should try. The room we stayed in was huge with a balcony, a spacious bathroom, and a handwritten note and chocolates from the staff. Breakfast was a delicious spread with pastries from a nearby local bakery. While the hotel was old, it was clear it's been extremely well taken care of and it was immaculately clean. It was also only a 15 minute walk (through a gorgeous area) to the old town and city center. We will most definitely be coming back as soon as possible.
