I was wanting the Keryflex treatment for a broken toe nail that never grew back. I called about 3 weeks to a month ago. The person who answered the phone repeated said she would call me back to schedule an appointment and never did. I was the one who had to keep calling to try to get service. She said that I had to see the doctor which I was willing to do, but after further discussion she said that she could schedule an apt and if the technician saw it and deemed it ok to do the treatment they would, if not I would be turned away. FINE. I have been to doctors and I know I do not have any problems, so I was fine with this being that I am sure I do not have issues, but I was also willing to go see their doctor. I a runner and a hiker, so that the cause. I have nothing, no fungus, no discoloration, no nothing, it is just super short. I kept calling and finally got an apt with the technician, I asked for the address but was driving and she said she would text me, never did, said I would get a text confirmation, never did. I had to call again and finally she did text the address the day before treatment (actually while I was typing yesterday's review). Mind you, all this happen more than just once. Today, the day of, I get a call from the technician that they cannot perform the procedure. I live about 40 minutes away and was about to leave. Who knows about the spa side of this, but the office side is ridiculous. NO common sense, no knowledge of procedures, and no customer service. The person who answers the phones is a complete idiot. I had been looking forward to the service. Why in the world would I have NOT seen the doctor if I had to? Why would she have scheduled an appointment for me if I had NOT seen the doctor and knew I had to in order to receive the treatment? Unfortunately these idiots are the only people in SA who do this. My recommendation, don't go to these people for anything. There are a lot of podiatrist in SA that are professional and have a knowledgeable office staff. To be clear, the customer service was so bad, I will never know how the "actual service" really is. I wouldn't bother. Funny how I was weary about it to begin with. Also when you call, it sounds like a cell phone, I even wondered if it was a real doctors office. Go somewhere else, don't even chance it.

I immediately felt at ease with both the location and visit. I saw Dr. Hughes at both the Ridgewood and Med Center locations. Both facilities were well-maintained and welcoming. I appreciated the time Dr. Hughes spent in answering my questions and I felt confident that he was prescribing the best care possible. I also appreciated his plan for not immediately recommending surgery and instead planned on taking new x-rays three weeks later to ensure recovery was progressing as expected. It would have been very easy to say "surgery is needed" as an easy way to get paid, so it made me feel I was truly being valued as a patient and with the best care in mind vs. making money off of me. After two follow-up visits with X-rays, he confirmed my foot was healing as expected and no surgery was needed. Now, 4 months post-injury, my foot is fully functional again and I know that wouldn't have been the case if I didn't trust my gut and get a second opinion from Dr. Hughes and TSAOG. Would absolutely use again if ever needed.

After initial exam, he provided 3 possible scenarios, 1 of which I anticipated. MRI confirmed portion of finger needed to be amputated and pathology confirmed osteomyelitis in portion removed. Surgery was done under a nerve block so no need for general anesthesia. Six stitches and a dressing later I was on my way home. Wound healed without issue. Dr Stein is very kind. He was very open and honest during initial exam. He asked lots of questions and answered the ones I had. He didn't push surgery but let's face it. If the problem existed for over a year , my physicians kept prescribing antibiotics and the finger had become misshapen, I knew surgery was the only option.

I wound up seeking a 2nd opinion because I just wasn't getting any better. Next time I'll bother to check how long a surgeon has had actual hands on experience before I bother letting one operate on me because I've been in pain ever since my surgery & nothing has helped. It took more than a year for me to get back to walking semi normal. It's probably due to how I healed but if your considering surgery on your foot, please know it's a long & painful experience.

He showed me some but kept trying to upsell the ones he created. He told me they wouldn't have my size for a few weeks and prescribed me a pain medication. The pain medication did not help at all and I let him know that away my follow up appointment in October. He told me there wasn't really much they could do until I started wearing the inserts (which they still didn't have). He then told me they were delayed again and would have them in December and that one of the staff would call. Well now it's January and I have yet to hear a thing from these people. My foot problem has gotten worse but I was waiting for this insert because of the information I was given. I had really high hopes coming here because of reviews I read on different websites, but I was let down. I won't be coming back here and am finally seeking out a second opinion.
