What made the situation even more troubling was that we were given information about what treatment and testing would supposedly be needed before any clinical evaluation had taken place. Later, we received completely different information from the provider, leaving us feeling confused and misled. The lack of consistency and professionalism in communication was unacceptable. When people come to an emergency room in the early hours (5am) of the morning, they are often scared, uncomfortable, and looking for help. Instead of feeling supported, we felt dismissed, judged, and pressured. The overall experience demonstrated a concerning lack of compassion, poor communication, and questionable judgment from the front office staff. My 78 y o dad was seen in their ED last night for a fall with head strike. He couldn't even tell me…read morehow exactly it happened. He has a hematoma with a lac on his head. He was seen in that ED a few weeks prior for profuse epistaxis, no labs done, likely from high BP. There's a language barrier and he's not the best historian, so I'm not sure how they were able to obtain info if he is on any blood thinners or his current symptoms. I've been a nurse for 15 years inc at a level 1 trauma center, and I've never heard of a 78 y o with a fall and head strike with unclear mechanism and possible LOC not get a CTH (and maybe a c-spine while at it). It's a 10 min thing and is not unreasonable, it's not like I'm talking about a CTA of the Chest. My mom tells me he's now altered, dizzy and nauseous at home, which prompted this review. I really hope he doesn't have a subdural or an ICH, esp given his high BP. I understand he may not have had sig focal deficits, but given all the above, scan the damn head.

Let me start by saying, crooked doesn't even come close to describing just how corrupt this…read morehospital is. In September of 2025, I was seen for a cut on my thumb. I received 3 stitches. The hospital charged me 900$ for the visit. Based on my insurance, I should have only paid 400$. I was called by the hospitals billing company to pay a remaining balance of roughly $300. I told them, they overcharged me and to refund my money so that I can pay what was left on the bill. I also had my insurance call and notify them of the overcharge. I dont make much money so I dont have a big savings account to pull from. I needed that refund to pay the bill. They proceeded to delay any help, or any communication for the next 7 months. All while, their billing company was threatening to turn me into collections. After just becoming exhausted with having to call every week and repeat myself with literally 0 help, I caved in and just paid the additional money. I was happier to just lose the battle, even though I know they overcharged me, than continue fighting. Well, during their time of silence and me requesting a refund, rather than doing what is right, it appears they were trying to find a way where no refund would be provided. After I gave up, and allowed this hospital to screw me over, they decided that they were going to adjust my bill. I now owe 1300$ more with no explanation. I am now having to call them weekly, simply to get an itemized report. All while their billing department blows me up for more money. This is the United States healthcare at its finest.

Based on my recent surgery last week: My surgeon and the anesthesiologist were absolutely…read morefantastic, all the nurses were fantastic, but there were a few inconsistencies. The discharge paperwork said to eat whatever I wanted, but the surgeon gave me specific guidance, a handout, on a full liquid diet until my post-op appointment in 3 weeks. I am following her guidance, of course, but the discharge paperwork should say something like: follow your doctor's specific instructions. Also, I did not receive a call checking in on my status after I was discharged. I did follow up with my surgeon's office via MyChart with questions and eventually received a call from her nurse helping me with some minor post op issues, but 5 days after my surgery. In the past, I thought someone from either the doctor's office or the hospital itself called to check on the patient within a day or two (from our prior experience with Texas Health Frisco). Also, my husband stayed with me in the room overnight and I had to ask the nurses for him to be provided pillows and blankets, that would have been nice if the nurses attending me would have asked If he needed anything or even allow a caretaker meal. When I stayed at Baylor McKinney to deliver our youngest daughter over a decade ago, they allowed my husband to have a meal or two per each 24 hours of my stay at the hospital. Since I was on a full liquid diet post op, I wasn't having much or anything and I don't think It would have cost a lot to allow the 1 family member staying to take care of me be more comfortable. I understand these are super minor issues, but I would say that would bring my review up to a 5. Overall, the hospital is very clean, bright, welcoming, all the doctors, nurses, and staff were very helpful, attentive and patient, and I would absolutely recommend your hospital to anyone.
