They did several breathing treatments on me and gave a round of IV cortisteroids then sent me home and said if I didn't feel better to come back. Well about 12 hours later I was worse again and had to come back. This time they admitted me. Once admitted the first MD examined me and really didn't ever say anything at all and just left. They were basically just watching me and giving breathing treatments every six hours. Next day my breathing wasn't any better and blood work was getting worse so more IV cortisteroids and antibiotics. Next day no better and at one point the MD told me that it was probably just a hold over from covid and that I might be like this for 6 months and that I just needed to relax. They sent me home the next day with me feeling no better and not being able to stop coughing or breath well. I sent all of my labs from the hospital to my personal MD who doesn't have privileges at this hospital and after a phone conversation she changed my antibiotic and the next day started feeling better. It turns out I had a relatively rare bacterial infection in my lungs that the hospital didn't catch and could have caused severe organ damage or even death if left untreated. All the while the MD's at the hospital didn't even think there was anything really wrong with me. They gave me enough Steroids to keep me going but not fix anything. I would not ever go back here or recommend it to anyone.

This is typical of many physicians and understandable as they usually like to hear it to diagnose. I get it, it's dismissive but normal. He then told me, 'he's not even congested'. Even though, I had just washed off his nose prior to him coming in and he still had crusted residue on his upper lip. Why would he dismiss him for not seeing snot run out at that exact moment? Did he think I don't know what congestion is? Croup is often worse at night and can be fine during the day, but he informed me it had to be consistent. That is actually not true, so very weird he said that. Maybe he was referring to a more minute part of the croup symptoms? He said he wouldn't give an infant a steroid, which I understand. I didn't ask for one and it's not the only treatment option. But then, he didn't give any advice on how to help my child at home. No mention of anything (e.g. humidifier, nebulizer, Motrin). Nothing was offered beyond 'I won't give an infant a steroid'? I brought my infant in because the day prior and this morning he was drooling excessively, as a baby who doesn't drool and the barking cough was now present after serval days of a cold. He didn't even ask about drooling, which is an indicator for throat pain. All my observations were shut down. Felt like a very worthless office visit with no actual assistance. Seems like a great guy, but not a great communicator, thorough examiner or helpful doctor. Weird and not worth the money.

Our experience was less than stellar…read more 1. They need to "check you in" with cumbersome typing before seeing someone in excruciating pain. As if that cannot be done simultaneously like other hospitals. We needed empathy and urgency. The administrative can and should've been done later in my opinion. 2. The staff appeared nervous and unsure. As if newly experienced. I had to ask them to run a specific test which the nurse's response was "oh. I should've thought to do that." 3. They do not have important equipment onsite. We needed to come in for an ultrasound abruptly, which they do not have the machine onsite. Luckily, they had an existing appointment 1hr after we arrived, where another person needed one too; so they had already planned for the machine expert to travel onsite, but had that not been pre-planned then we likely would've needed to go elsewhere. 4. Wait times. The wait time to be seen (after check in) was quick, but the time to receive the care mentioned above was very long. We arrived around 8:50am. Were in the back getting the basics (IV, bp, answering basic questions) at 9am. We expected the ultrasound representative onsite at 9:45am, but did not receive until ~ 10:15 Overall- It's a nice, clean, friendly place for sure. Best for basic care. But it doesn't not appear to be the best place to go for advanced care when you truly need it.
