Have always been going to BevMo for all my alcohol... but this place is way better... they have a much better collection.... and mostly have the same or lesser prices... If you like the experience of buying liquor, then this is your place.... One advice... not the place for buying snacks like chips and dip... have a small and bad range... I have never been let down when asking for help choosing the perfect wine here. The employees that I have asked have all been knowledgeable and very helpful. Prices are reasonable and since I signed up for their emails, I receive coupons. Even during the busiest times, checking out is quick and seamless and if you're searching for a wine to go with tonight's dinner or to celebrate a special occasion, there's either staff there to recommend a selection (based on quality, not on price) or who will call the local expert to help you out. My favorite place to buy wine ever! The selection is wonderful, the prices are incredible, and the staff is confident and friendly. I've gone on a saturday for a wine tasting and was able to learn more than I had expected in just a short amount of time. And I even bought a couple bottles that I would have otherwise ignored. I'll admit, I did pick up a bit of a buzz from all the wine I got to taste, but who doesn't love that! I was just there yesterday with an out of town co-worker, and he was also quite impressed. One of my favorite parts of this store is the section that has the staff's picks. If you do not know what you might like, or it's a winery you are just not too familiar with, they give you a heads up on some of the basics. I've bought several bottles from that section alone! Wine and liquor mecca! Hallelujah! This store has a much greater selection than Bevmo and even at cheaper prices. It's my one-stop place to shop for a big party or just when I'm itching for a good bottle of wine. The staff is very knowledgeable and always give me great recommendations. The hubby and I did all our shopping here for our open bar wedding reception. They give you a discount if you buy full cases (I think it was either 10 or 15% off per case). I LOVE that they offer a great selection of single bottles. If you like to try different brews but are skeptical about getting a whole 6-pack you have to check out their single bottles aisle. They have a great selection organized by country and you can even mix and match to create your very own six-pack. Booze heaven! read more

Was in town for Super Bowl XLIX and I wanted to pick up some beers I can't get in Washington state. Went in the store, walked passed cashiers, and I wasn't greeted (like I was a ghost or something). Then I went straight to the beer isle. I had a hard time looking for a specific beer because there's a lot of beer inventory there and there were completely no employees around to help me. I asked a guy if he worked there, he said no. Then he said, the beers are in alphabetical order and he directed me to an isle. Funny thing is, he was holding a clip board, in uniform, doing inventory, so I think he did work there. A good twenty minutes later, I found my beer. Walked to the cash register to a cashier on her cell phone, not even acknowledging me. So, I paid for my three cases of beer and she didn't even offer me a bag or a box and she was still on her cell phone. So, I asked for a box, then I boxed my sh*t and walked out of that b*tch ass place. Oh. And they accused my friends of stealing. This place is huge and contain all the wines you can think of. My husband and I actually went to look for imported beer and specialty sodas. He found most of the imports he likes. One of the employees actually split a bottle from 6 pack so my husband and do the create your own 6 pack deal. Very friend and knowledge employees. Best place in town for selection and value. The employees rock it when it comes to helpful selections for gifting and parties. They explain without talking down to you. Help yourself to the cold ones in the beer cooler. One exception to sales is that items with a price ending in 7 are never on sale. This is a fantastic liquor store it's unfortunate that their cashiers aren't as fantastic as the liquor selection. There was a small spray bottle of sanitizer that I thought they put by the cashier for the customers as I sprayed my hands she quickly snapped at me and said "THAT'S NOT FOR YOU"! I told her that in the future she might be a little nicer about letting people know that the sanitizer is not for the customer. I also asked her if she was happy to be working. She appeared to be there for the paycheck and not there to promote a great shopping experience for the customer. She looked at me and ask me if I wanted to talk to her manager and rather than humiliate her in front of her manager I'm just leaving this feedback so that all of the management team can be aware of my experience. This establishment is located northeast of the arrowhead mall (solid location). Its...well...smaller than many of the other total wines located in the greater phoenix area. Great selection of everything alcohol, wine, hard liquor, beer, kegs etc. They do have a nice sampling area in combination with a minibar with several beers on tap for growlers. Best prices I can find in Arizona! Huge selection is an understatement... more like great big ginormous mega giant selection!! Has all those hard to find items. If they don't have it they will order it for you. Wine tasting booth on certain days is very nice to try a new wine. There is very helpful informative workers willing and eager to help pick out a wine or other item. I am not a huge wine drinker, I love it but I don't know much about picking out a good wine and I am often on a budget. The employees have never steered me wrong with a wine and the discription I was looking for. Never have they tried to force a product on me out of my price ranger either. This is where I come for any of my liquor needs. If I'm cooking a special dinner and need to pair it with that perfect hard to find wine I go here. When my coworker was home sick for their home town I recommended this as the place to find that beer they wouldn't find anywhere else in phoenix. Whenever I'm throwing a party for any theme, I'm guaranteed to find anything and everything I need here. They have gins, wines, champagne, beers, anything from all over the world, something for anyones taste no matter how picky you are. They have something for any budget too from cheap to expensive it's all here. The workers are pretty knowledgable and whenever I've been there and given someone the vaguest of information to help me find a wine I tasted out at a restaurant, they seem to know exactly what I'm talking about and help me track it down. Every aisle is labeled so it makes it extremely easy to find things on your own too. The only down side is, if you buy plain soda they card you anyway. I'm guessing that's a company thing but I thought it was awkward they wanted my cousin's and my ID when we purchased lavender soda pop. No booze at all involved and had to whip out our ID proving we were both over 21. And their bathrooms are kind of gross but in all the years I've been shopping there I've only ever used it twice. But still it looks nasty and even if it was scrubbed clean it would still look gross. I think it could use a makeover but that would never stop me from shopping there. Great place for the selection and the price. The hours are great. Love that they are open when my favorite cigar place is not. Awesome that they have the brand of cigar that I smoke! Read another review that said customer service was "hit or miss" , so true! Especially when you want to check out and there's a long line. You look over at the customer service desk and see all the white shirts just stand around. Sometimes three or four of them. Not a one will open the register at the service desk. They just stare at us in line and do nothing. They don't even attempt to look busy with something else. Today the cashier ( Leilani) was awesome! So nice and helpful. I went here to buy a birthday present for a friend. I was looking for 100% copper Moscow Mule cups. They did not have them (no one did) but they were very helpful when I asked if they knew where to find them. They have an amazing selection, I found several things to put in my cart that I wasn't looking for ha ha ha! I don't drink wine. I drink beer. The selection and pricing on all beer is by far the best in the area. You can piece your own 6r or even fill a growler with a beer list on tap. Service can be hit and miss but I won't ding them since they offer order by call or online and have it ready to go upfront for you. Some of the employees are the coolest ever. Let me start by saying that I love this place. I have been shopping here for years and they always have a great selection and very good prices, the store is very nice and clean and the people are usually very helpful and friendly. With COVID-19, I thought it would be great to make an order online and then just pick up my order and not have to spend much time risking exposure to the virus. I went to their website and placed an order as a guest (not creating an account). Everything appeared to go smoothly, I made my selections, checked out and a message was displayed thanking me for my order and telling me an email would be sent confirming my order. I waited for several hours but no email. I did check my credit card account and found that I had been billed for the order but then, almost immediately, credited for the same amount. Strange, what the heck happened? The next day, I decided to make another order for the same items but this time created an account. This all went smoothly also but immediately after submitting my order I went to my order history and discovered that the status of this order was "canceled." Weird. So I called my local store and after several tries talked to someone who said they couldn't help and that I would have to call the main customer support line, which I did. After waiting on hold for a full hour (I understand there are extenuating circumstances with COVID-10 and all so I'm not upset about the wait) I finally talked to someone who was very friendly and explained something about Total Wine doing some extra verification steps after the card authorization and that they were rejecting my card. He said it had happened to him. He tried to resubmit my order but it immediately went back into cancelled status so he suggested that I should just make a new order with a different credit card. I have done IT consulting work for American Express in the past and am familiar with card authorization procedures and thought that perhaps my name or something about my address didn't line up causing the cancellation of the order. So I tried various combinations of my name (Jeff vs Jeffrey, etc.) and my address (street vs st) and tried three different cards. I was never able to get my order through. My wife also created an account and tried to make the order with the same results. I'm sure people must successfully make online orders with Total Wine but we can't. Very annoying! So, I'm trying to find someplace else that will take my order but I must admit that it's very difficult to find anyplace else with as such good prices and selection. I can't wait until Amazon starts selling beer and wine! They have never rejected my card. Not once! And I order from them all the time. read more

Beats the competition. I can find things that are more rare here more easily. For example, once I read about a drink called a Black Jack in a novel. So I Googled that, learned what the ingredients are, and went to Total Wine to find Tia Maria. Found it all by myself without having to bother some poor worker who roams the floor area looking for us lost souls. And when I cannot find something, if it is in that store, an employee will find it for me. And if it is something they do not stock, the employee knows that off the top of his head and does not have to run to a computer or another employee to ask about it. That means they have a knowledgeable staff! I once took my 94-year-old father-in-law to Total Wine. He was amazed. I don't think his eyes blinked for the first 3 minutes he toured the store. Dear reviewers reading, I had HORRIBLE UGLY service here. It was my first and last time coming here. Firstly they ONLY had one brand of Soju I been to other stores that sell more and more authentic. Secondly, THIS IS WHERE ALL THE UGLY HAPPENS, I first enter the building and no one greets us instead they greet all the elder people that are like 50+, but the rudeness does not stop there I get what I need a couple of spirits and then head for check out there were two ladies talking about something and there lines were open with the light on, they just stood there and talked, even another man went to another line since they were just carrying on there conversation but I walked up and they just glared at me and continued talking I walked up to the conveyor belt and asked if they were working? one of the ladies rolled her eyes and was waiting for me she didn't even say "hi or is that all?" she didn't even speak one word to me, she seemed upset looking that I broke up there conversation. So I asked her what do I do with my little hand basket I had and she finally spoke and told me "YOU have to put it away at the exit door" and just pointed sharply at the door. So I went to put it away and then she demanded to see my ID I gave her my ID and she wrote stuff down on a paper and called the manager up since I have an ID that isn't sideways but I am 21+ and I had no complaints I understand why the manager was called, he came up and checked it and that was all, THEN she continued with the sell and she ranged my items up AND THREW THEM IN THE BAG. She didn't lightly or gently placed my glass bottles in a bag but TOSSED AND THREW them like it didn't matter if they break and she continued to slouch and roll her eyes and just handed me my receipt and went back to talking to her friend. No thank you or smile or anything she was just straight up rude. I'm never going back to this one maybe none since other places sell better products and are nicer. read more

It's like Disneyland for winos! Although I'm not much of a wine drinker, their selection is outstanding. But that goes for the beer and other liquors, too. The prices are great and are usually lower than most other places. They offer wine classes and wine tastings, but I've never partook in either. The staff is nice, friendly, and very helpful with suggestions and answers. My favorite indulgences I seem to only find here: Lindt Chocolate Bar with Almonds and Darrell Lea Soft Liquorice. :) read more

I never think of checking in when I am here, which is quite often...lol. I was on a mission today to find a bottle of red blend but a little on the sweeter side for my wife. I was approached by numerous employees asking if I required assistance but I said no However when the fifth one asked me I told him what I was wanting, I regretfully don't have his name and I am ashamed of that, he was fantastic! He spent a good forty minutes with me informing me of the various grapes and how they taste, as well as telling me how to interpret the lingo used on the bottle. This is not unusual for this place they are always quick to help and provide you with any knowledge you may require to make your mind up! I love that they have little signs to tell you their faves because if you see you like the same stuff one of them like you may branch out and try something new based on their recommendation! Total wine has total shitty customer service. We arrived well before 5 to do the wine tasting as we always select our wines after a tasting. We asked the employee leaning on the wine bar what they were sampling and he like "we're closed"- my husband said its not 5 yet and the employee grunted. Of all 10 employees working in the store no one could reasonably answer why they state they have wine tasting with specific times and it's actually only open when they chose. I love coming here to get cigars at a great price. Their walk-in humidor has a great assortment including my favorites Arturo Fuente, Nub, Ashton, Rocky Patel, Partagas & Olivia.
