I gave it 4 stars because it wasn't always easy finding someone if I had a question - I had to go near the front & one or two cashiers could not help. The app/website is pretty helpful if you already know what you are looking for. It tells you the aisle and bay number. However, this is not always the case. While searching for the plastic martini cups, the website told me to see a team member. Most of the plastic cups are near the cigar area. Never no one around to help you locate an item. I had to wander around aimlessly searching for one item and stuck inside for 30 minutes. I scoured the aisles, looking for a worker, though it was impossible as no one is walking around to help. I'm not much of a drinker so no, I would not be able to locate many items. I was looking for the mead and found it strange it was listed near Sherry. Also, the taste lady who directed me to walk left to find wasn't helpful, ended up by the canned alcohol aisle. Just fix having workers show customers where items in the store are (walking with them). I'm not an alcoholic so, no I don't know where everything is and don't come in often. You pay a small fee and get to taste various wines while getting the background on each and being educated on wines made in various regions and countries. Small bites (charcuterie) were provided along with water (in addition to wine). You get a pamphlet with more information and are able to jot down notes on each wine you sample for further reference. An item that was listed as $4.99 on the shelf rang up as $10.99. The cashier would not honor the store's price, even after my wife ran back to snap a photo and showed it to her. Perhaps an employee stocked the item in the wrong spot and meanwhile people are making buying decisions based on the inaccurate price only to be charged over double. Liquor stores wasted no time in setting up shop in Pearland once the liquor laws were changed recently. Total Wine is definitely a welcome addition to my hood! This location in particular is smaller compared to the Baybrook location, but still has a great selection I can live with. They have a great humidor for you cigar smokers, as well as a walk in cooler for beer and some wines. The staff was very knowledgeable when I had questions about wines. If you come in during busy times, be ready to sample a few items and spend time walking around. What makes this place stand out amongst it's competitors is the prices. You can't beat them! I am shocked with the service at this location today. I went here with my brothers for some last minute drinks for our family gathering tomorrow. One of my brothers didn't have his ID, but my other two brothers did. They are all of age and two of my brothers came from out of state for our family gathering. Since one of my brothers did not have his ID, they decided not to sell the other two drinks. The manager came to them twice and he refused to sell my brothers who had their IDs and who are over 30 drinks. I'm shocked because I've gone to this store with my niece, who is 6 years old to buy wine and I was never refused service. However, my brothers were refused service for what? I've never heard of an establishment refusing service to individuals of age. I understand them not selling to the individual without an ID, but not selling to individuals of age is new to me. Clearly, they were not in need of our business and I will never visit this location again. Update on my review: the following day, my brother noticed he was charged for the liquor Total wine refused to sell him. He called total wine to get them to refund him his money, since they refused them service. However, the manager told him to come to the store and show him the charges. Unfortunately, my brother was heading back home, they knew he was from out of state because he showed them his ID (which the store clerk thought was false hence why she called the manager the first time). All the manager asked him, instead of apologizing and correcting the mistake, was when was he coming back to Texas to show him the charges. This is the most bizarre thing I've ever witnessed. You have computers and receipts for a reason. When you charge someone a receipt prints for him and the store. Additionally, they were the pray customers on Saturday night. You know you have their receipt. I wish I could give them a zero. Finale update: my brother was able to get a refund for the charges on his card. When he requested the receipt that the cashier did not provide him, he noticed that he was charged for Crowne Royale and Ciroc. This is strange because they had a bottle of Gin and Scotch. They were the only three (3) people in the store besides the cashier and manager. All I can say is check your receipts before leaving the store. read more

Completely incompetent staff. I ordered online, they took the funds out of my card, and called me to tell me that some cigars in my order were not in stock. The AMAZING customer service we received today helped us gain a new favorite tequila! Major kudos to the Spirits Manager, Hannah. Although we were the cliche Cino de mayo tequila shoppers, Hannah took great care of us. She was veryyy knowledgeable on the different tequila distilling methods and their effects after drinking. Under no circumstances would I ever shop here again. Made a purchase Christmas eve and the teller told me that I did not have the right pin for that card and the transaction was denied. No problem, I used another card and the transaction went through. Two days later the transaction was posted to both accounts. Well, thinks happen and I went to the store to let them know of the mistake. The manager claimed they only had one transaction posted and since I only had a receipt for one transaction the could do nothing. he claimed he could only see "1 card" on the video. The manager didn't have enough respect to come and tell me his self. He sent the poor little teller out to tell me. All Chase cards I have are blue and there is no way he could tell he difference on video. SO I left and challenged both transactions with my bank. Never willI go there again. read more

This was my first time going to a total wine and heard good things about it. However, it being my first time, horrible service. I understand that I went at a last minute time, but the way I was treated, probably won't be going here again. I needed a last minute gift and I wanted to go in and get out. There was a tall white male with glasses, possibly a manager but he didn't have a name tag, and warned us maybe 5 minutes before closing to get in line. Instead of breathing down our necks and being rude to "hurry in and get in line stop browsing now" he didn't even bother asking to help us so we could leave quickly. As it was 9:00 and I still couldn't find what I needed, he came back and was standing right behind telling us to get in line now to stop looking. I get it's 9:00, but they way he said it was not needed. Now I'm not the one to pull the race card but as I'm in line, I notice most of all the customers are minorities, and yet I still see white customers "browsing" past the time of closing.
