Went in there to get my bindings mounted on my skis and to casually look for a pair of boots. They were quick at helping me out and getting my skis mounted ASAP. I thought I would have to come pick them up another day, but they had them mounted within an hour and a half. While waiting I started looking at ski boots and the guys/girls there were a huge amount of help. Listened to what I had to say, what I was looking for, and gave me a number of options. While I was trying out sets of boots they said was a good fit, they also helped out my girlfriend even though she admitted she wasn't going to buy anything that day. They listened to what she wanted and told her not only about which boots they had in store that matched that description, but also about other boots they didn't have in store that would be great for her (and which shops in the area had them). Overall it was a sweet experience and I'll definitely be going back there for ski gear (or any other gear for that matter). Cheers to some sweet service read more

Took my family of 4 early-season skiing at Marmot. We've been to this shop each time we go to Marmot. The fitting and checkout went fine. Upon returning the equipment we were told that there was excessive damage to the bottom of the skis, and that we should be charged the damage amount. He then went on to explain that with early season skiing there are small pebbles on the hill that do this damage. So, let me get this straight..., you know there are pebbles on the hill and you choose to rent out equipment without letting the customer know this??? Had we been informed of the small pebbles on the hill we would have gotten the damage insurance!!! Will not be going back, you've lost our business forever and will be sharing our experience with those we know around the Edmonton region. read more

It is a great place to find clothing. I went in to look for a summer/fall jacket because I often have problems find a jacket that will fit and I didn't have trouble finding one. The clothing in the store isn't too expensive and it will last you for years. read more

We were arranging (by phone) in advance for a good pair of demo skis to rent for 6 or 7 days for 2-3 people We spoke with 3 different staff who said no problem. When we decided to go ahead, the owner said he would not do it. His rational was that he rents these skis with the hope of selling them at the end of the rental. So all our preliminary work was for naught. He was rude and completely contradicted his staff and web site. Needless to say, he will never receive our business. read more

I went in here to get a pair of ski boots because I often have problems finding ones that fit properly and left with a full set of skiing gear. Someone found me and offered help pretty much as soon as I walked into the store, but I definitely got he feeling that if I said I was just browsing they would have been fine with that (I've been to ski shops where if they figure out your'e just looking around they pretty much don't want you there). I was immediately directed to someone who helped me pick out boots that fit perfectly. I have small feet and large calves so it wasn't easy to find something right away but he was patient and helped me find what was right for me. I was impressed with the service and he showed me some great mid-season deals on skis that were available and told me what sort of deals would be available if I bought a full set of gear. The deals were actually fairly comparable to what I would have been able to find had I gone to Edmonton. They was a little pricier but Edmonton is so far away it's just not worth going there to save such a small amount of cash. Then he told me that they'd be able to get my skis set up and have them ready for me in about 20 minutes and I'd have time to make it up to Marmot for the afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised because I had expected to be told that I would have to come back the next week or something to pick them up. I was impressed with the service and will definitely be back if I ever need new gear as well as for maintaining my skis. I plan on checking out what summer sports gear they have as well. read more

Today I walked into totem ski shop simply looking for a price for rentals for a child for the season. When I walked in I had a hard time finding someone who worked there. Finally as I was looking around like crazy someone stepped up. I then asked "how much are you renting kids skis for the year?" And she replied quick with "30$ a day" I then clarified I was looking for a whole season rental ( as I am a local and have rented there before I knew approximately how much to expect but wanted an exact price for this season). She then kept looking at her sheet and could not figure it out, she then told me it would be 12.87$ a day. I again asked for a full season price and she seemed confused. She then asked me how long "my" ski season was. Wondering what she meant exactly I looked at her and she added "around here its from November to may". ( I then really wondered who rented skis for a whole season in a different town) She was unable to help me at this point but told me she would pass me on to her manager Val. After she told him I was looking for rentals ( which I was not( I was simply looking for a price)) he told me to go wait in the area where they size people for skis. I happily went there and waited with my husband and my two kids. After waiting for a long time my husband decided to go outside with our 3 year old because it was becoming to be too long for all of us. After still waiting a while I decided to go find him. He was at the till and when I approached Him he Looked at me and said "I'm still coming" and due to him being at a computer I simply said " I don't need my child to be fitted ( I already one the size I need) I simply need a price" and he looked at me and seemed like I had clarified things for him. He told me he had to go check so he walked towards the back of the store where I assumed he was going to check a different computer or ask someone but as I was trying to fallow him I got cut off by someone and was a bit behind when getting to the back. To my horror ( by this time I had been in the store nearly an hour and I was getting quite annoyed) but to my horror when I made it past those people I saw him talking about a pair of skis on the wall with new customers that walked in. I was livid!!!!!!!!! I then looked at him and said " excuse me!!!!!, should I come back later?" In a firm tone wondering if my business meant anything? And he replied "Yeah maybe" I then was soooooooo angry that I thanked him VERY much for his help today and walked out and I could hear him trying to tell me to come back in a couple days and he would try to find a price for me. But do i need to tell you that I will never ever ever bring my business there again!?! This was the second time I was very upset with this shop and I will never return. read more
