I reached out two days in advance on Yelp and she responded immediately about her availability and also about the type of hairstyle I wanted. During my appointment she was nice, funny, and allowed me to relax. I never have a good experience with getting braids, even weaves done in the DC/MD area, typically the braider is rude, they pull your hair, and just overall very very unprofessional but Dina was the complete opposite. I decided to give her another chance, hoping things had improved. Unfortunately, they had not. I paid for a sew-in installation and within a two days noticed that the top was very bumpy, uneven, and not laying flat. The issue was obvious in photos and noticeable enough that others commented on it. I reached out promptly, sent pictures, and politely asked if she could fix it. Rather than taking accountability or offering a solution, she acknowledged the issue by telling me the wefts were thick. As the professional, if the hair was going to create a bulky or uneven result, that should have been communicated before completing the service. At no point was I advised that the finished product would look the way it did. When I asked if it could be fixed, I was ignored. After following up, I was met with a dismissive response about not discussing work on her days off and was told she would revisit the issue the next day. She never followed up, never offered a correction, and never attempted to make the situation right. The most disappointing part wasn't even the hair--it was the customer service. Mistakes happen, but professionalism is demonstrated by how you handle them. Instead of addressing a legitimate concern from a paying customer, I was left feeling dismissed and ignored. Because the issue was never resolved, I had to pay an additional $190 to another stylist to remove and redo the installation (@sheweaves). She installed the exact same hair and my install is SUPER flat. I gave this business a second chance despite my previous concerns about customer service, and unfortunately the experience confirmed why I stopped going in the first place. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this stylist and will be filing complaints with the appropriate consumer protection agencies regarding the handling of this matter.

I was introduced to Ms. Toya who listened to my situation and in return was very sympathetic and understanding. Thus, she made time in her busy Friday schedule to fit me in and yes, Ms. Toya got me all the way right. I am so grateful to her and not to mention, pleased. My hair is amazing.
