I had one of the worst salon experiences of my life…read more I contacted this stylist through Instagram after seeing his advertisements. Before making the appointment, I asked for the price, and I have screenshots showing that I was quoted $120, including a highlight touch-up, toner/gloss, haircut, and blow-dry. When I arrived at the salon, I was suddenly told the service would cost over $400. I was shocked because this was completely different from what I had been told in writing. I started to leave, but the stylist stopped me and eventually lowered the price to $300. Unfortunately, the pricing issue ended up being the smallest problem. During the bleaching process, after about 20 minutes, my scalp and even my ears became extremely hot and painful. I immediately told the stylist that something was wrong. Instead of checking my hair, I was told the bleach needed to stay on for about an hour. I trusted his professional judgment. That trust cost me years of healthy hair growth. After washing my hair, he deliberately stood in front of the mirror while blow-drying so I couldn't clearly see the condition of my hair until he had finished. He never performed the haircut that had been included in the agreed service, quickly parted my hair differently from how I normally wear it, rushed me to pay through Venmo, and I left before realizing the full extent of the damage. Once I got home, I discovered that many of the highlighted sections throughout the sides, back, and underneath my hair had been chemically burned off and broken. My hair had previously reached my waist. Now, many highlighted sections have snapped off dramatically, leaving parts of my hair several inches shorter. The color is also uneven, with dark ends, greenish tones, and a result that looks nothing like what I requested. To make matters worse, the bleach also permanently damaged my clothing. This is far beyond simply being unhappy with a color. My hair suffered severe chemical damage, and I lost years of growth in a single appointment. I have photographs, screenshots of our conversations, proof of the quoted price, proof of payment, and documentation of the damage. I cannot recommend this salon or stylist to anyone.

I have platinum hair and have had nearly every color of the rainbow on my head. This can be very hard on the hair. All stylists at this salon will deliver input on whether a hair dream will be attainable in one visit or not. Bombshell stylists care about maintaining hair integrity! My hair looks healthy, even after being processed as many times as it as. I recommend this salon to anyone that wants a relaxing and professional hair experience. I see Sierra regularly, but have seen almost every stylist at Bombshell from cuts, to color, to styling. All stylists here deliver consistent results, you will not be disappointed!

Just staring until one finally said "someone will be with you". My stylist herself was fine, but didn't ask for inspiration pictures or ask many questions. I booked a partial highlight no cut because Im used to a highlight and cut being 2-3 hours at my former salon due to my thick, fine hair. Imagine my surprise when I am rushed through and my highlight, processing, washing, drying and curling all in 1 hour and 15 minutes. It felt like the Jiffy Lube of salon service and definitely did not resemble good customer service or hospitality. I left feeling like I was an inconvenience to them. Overall I was not wow'd by my result, but the price point was solid. I waited to post this experience which was in May, because I tried a new salon after, to see if maybe I was overreacting to my rushed experience at Bombshell. I was not. My experience at another local salon was about 3 hours for all parts of a partial highlight and a quick dead end trim. My stylist there was brand new to me but took time to hear my wants and to make sure I left satisfied. So having compared to my before and after, I cannot say I would return to Bombshell or recommend to anyone.

My wife went to Bubbles Salon in Columbia at 8am with clear inspiration photos and a very simple…read morerequest: a dimensional blonde with warmer, slightly darker tones, including lowlights and highlights to add depth. Her hair was already a light ashy champagne blonde with fresh root growth and a solid base. She intentionally left it alone so there would be zero confusion about the goal. We were fully prepared to pay for quality work. She expected over $300 for the service and was ready to tip about the same. She factored in processing time, toning, even test strands if needed. With her starting point and today's hair trends, this should have been a straightforward appointment for any experienced colorist. Instead, she spent five hours in a chair watching her hair get worse in real time. A shadow root was attempted and applied so poorly it looked almost black against her blonde and had to be corrected. Her hair was then highlighted in multiple rounds, and somehow still ended up yellow, brassy, and completely untoned. At no point did the result resemble the reference photos she brought in. Iman told her he "can't make her hair thicker," which had nothing to do with anything she asked for. She never requested thicker hair, she requested color placement. That comment honestly felt like the theme of the entire appointment: not listening, not understanding, and then reframing the confusion as if it was coming from her. When I came in, this happened again and they basically tried to blame her not being clear which offended me greatly as I know she had the reference picture ready to go. I would have respected it more if the stylist just admitted she messed up, instead of blaming it on my wife. Billy, a senior stylist, told her she should just do it herself. That alone should tell you everything about the level of professionalism here. She was also told her hair didn't match the reference because it wasn't styled, which is an unbelievable excuse when the issue was color, tone, and placement, not curls and volume. She was even handed a color book mid-appointment as if she hadn't already provided clear visual references. There was no manager on site when she asked. By the end, she left with yellow, uneven, brassy hair that didn't resemble her starting point or her request in any way. She went to another salon afterward, where they were immediately confused by what had been done and suggested corrective work. The entire experience felt disorganized, dismissive, and careless. She came in ready to pay for professional results and left with something she wouldn't have expected from a beginner trying it at home. We did not pay for the service, and we will not be returning. The most frustrating part is how easily this could have been avoided with basic honesty at the start. If this was outside their skill set, that should have been said before five hours of trial-and-error damage control.

I had asked the price to begin with because I don't like being surprised and sometimes they try to add on things later and the price ends up being more than agreed. The hairdresser was a Spanish woman in her 40s or 50s maybe and she said she was not familiar with a roller set and that already didn't sound good since she acted like she had never heard of it. She said she is more familiar with blow-dry so I said ok. She ended up cutting more than expected like a lot more and said it needed a trim. I specifically said very small trim and she said ok, I barely touched it, but somehow afterwards it was a lot shorter. After a year later, my hair was not even at the length it was when I got there. Also, it was weird that she tried to say we were done after a blow-dry and I had to basically repeat a few times that the straightening was included in the price she discussed so why was she saying we were done if she hadn't done it. I had to ask a few times to straighten it which I thought was common sense and then I had to even ask again for some type of body since I had originally asked for a blow out and she went from completely straight now with no bump at the end or anything like straight down and barely look like you went to a hair salon. After I had to ask to add some type of curls or waves and maybe that would help her get body, she tried that and it helped a little but at that point, the hair was much shorter and barely had some curls. I still had much shorter hair than if I were to not have gotten my hair done there and it was a year later.

I went from cutting my locs of 16 years to coming in for a Brazilian blowout and pixie cut. She skipped the last 3 steps of the brazilian blowout, cut my hair in the shape of a 70s Afro instead of pixie and didn't seal the style so my hair was ruined within 30 minutes of being outside directly after my appointment. There are quite a few things wrong with my experience. She was aware the brazilian was not done correctly and said she was willing to go over the areas that were not done correctly. When I mentioned how the cut was wrong her reply was, "I did the best I could". She did not mention how my hair was so badly damaged but said that is why certain parts are too short, when they were no were near that short when I came in. She told me to come in to get it fixed but also tried to make me get a hair treatment and when I denied she was conveniently unable to answer her phone or return my call/message so my hair was never fixed. She also waited until I was halfway through my hair appointment to tell me that she normally charges $450 for a Brazilian but because I have LITERALLY one inch of hair she did it for $300. After the product is put in the hair, it is supposed to be blow dried and then flat iron and then rinsed and then style. However, she did not rinse it, but the flat iron after the blow dry of the initial Brazilian product was how she finished my hair. And then told me afterwards that my hair texture takes better that way, which I find hard to believe. Bad experience once I got the true results. Do not recommend. Very money hungry lady that appears friendly and well meaning. She also gave me a warning that she is not gentle so yes, she yanked my hair plenty of times. I was patient while in the chair but now I'm actually furious about my experience, lack of customer service and transparency.
