If you need an MRI of an area of your body that "has hardware" like screws or rods and plates "implants(metal)" used in orthopedic surgeries, the upgraded MARS technology MRI Touchstone in Thornton, off I-25, is an MRI that will reduce the bright "scatter" effect made when it hits implanted metal. With a regular/normal MRI Imaging, the results could become too obscured for use. (The metal implants cause a very bright shimmer/scatter" that makes the MRI show "a bright nothingness" in the area, difficult if not impossible to read. So, if you have a surgical metal implant and need a good MRI for your doctor, look for a place with MARS MRI technology. I was seen on time and was finished faster than I had expected. read more

I had an MRI of my brain, and the technician told me the results would be available in 24 to 48 hours. I called at 48 hours and they said 72 hours. I called at 72 hours and they said "72 business hours" (which would be 9 days). The manager said she would do me a favor and 'stat' the result. I am terrified and they absolutely do not care. No compassion or empathy whatsoever. They operate more like a retail establishment than a health care company. Horrifying. read more

i called to follow up to schedule an appointment following a provider sending an order over. they said they couldn't find it, followed up with my provider and he had sent the order the following day. not sure why they couldn't find it. they then did find the order and scheduled me for later that morning. i arrived 15 minutes early only to be told at the time of my appt that they weren't ready for me and needed to reschedule. absolutely impressive level of incompetence here, i haven't done imaging yet and they've already wasted an hour of my time. Don't go here if you value your time, and dealing with competent people. read more

Unfortunately the only TMI where I could get an appointment was the Lafayette office-not that I would go to any location after my experience. I had sent in every single document they wanted-and none were even looked at by anyone. I even called and confirmed everything that moring. Their front desk/office manager had quit so someone from another office was in front. Finally into a room and a deer-in-the-headlights person entered my room asking questions I had answered in detail. She said I am "new" and all I know is that you are here for an MRI. When I tried to explain the special conditions, you sent me back to the lobby. 10 minutes later, at 4:00, i was told she couldn't do the MRI but I could drive to Thornton to have it done. 70 minutes wasted with no one who could do their job. RUN-DON'T WALK-AWAY FROM ALL LOCATIONS! read more

They are very pushy about making an appointment. First, I got a reminder text at 8pm on a Friday night. The next reminder came via text on a Sunday (as if I could schedule something on a Sunday!). Monday rolls around and I had two voice mails from them before 9am. They called THIRD time and I picked up and said, "Wow, you guys are persistent!" I don't think the scheduler appreciated my sarcasm. But seriously, people are busy. I don't need 50,000 reminders hitting me over the head. Back off. read more

I've had multiple xrays and scans at the facility. Every time I go, I have to pay up front instead of them billing insurance. And on every occasion, I'm overcharged and have to call them and ask for a refund. I'm sure they wouldn't refund if I didn't ask. This seems like bad business and possibly sketchy on making extra money by overcharging. If I wouldn't have kept track of what my insurance paid, they wouldn't have refunded my money as it's been 3 months later this time and I had to call and ask for the money back a second time. Hopefully they will return it as promised! Double standards when doing business. read more

They did a good job of taking my husband's shoulder xray. My only problem was the billing. Even though the appointment was set up as self pay, they asked for my husband's insurance card. Touchstone said my husband asked for the insurance to be billed. We have a high deductible and we pay everything first. Instead of paying $60 we ended up paying $177. Despite reaching put several times to Touchstone they would not correct the payment. Touchstone put all of the blame on the patient and didn't take any responsibility for what they did. Mistakes happen but Touchstone refused to work with me to find a solution. read more

They waited until 18 hours before appointment time to cancel the appointment (due to lack of insurance approval yet), and then say they left a voicemail - which clearly they did not (upon searching call history.). I drove 70 miles and two hours round trip to bring my father to this appointment. The front desk uttered a barely audible and reluctant "sorry", which seemed fake. read more

They're also the rudest bunch of 'care workers'! Condescending and belittling, they act like they don't have or need to answer the phone! I scheduled an appointment to have some hand films taken. I was seen in June and had 3 films taken . All three had both hands in them I paid $159.00 for these films and that was acceptable. Now I get a bill for an additional $ 175.00 . Reason being there were 6 images on 3 films. Hmmm I can see if they took 6 films but I was surprised that they charge me for each hand on each film. Be careful folks this is bad policy. I was told that I signed a paper stating this was just an estimate and I totally get that. Its the price per hand that bothers me. This could have been handled so much better at the office. I would gladly have paid twice as much on the day I came in if I had known. To get this statement is beyond frustrating. read more

If you go here for any service be aware that their billing department will hound you via text and email regarding your bill. I had a scan done in late February and started receiving texts and emails about my bill right away the next day. The due date isn't until April 9th but as of today, I have received 3 texts and 5 emails. They will not see one red cent until the due date because of the harassment. I will NEVER go to this place again due to their policy of harassment. read more

If you need an ultrasound, this is a great place to go. We were sent here by my husband's urologist for a follow up ultrasound, and this office could not have made the process any easier. The front desk staff was really friendly and helpful, and we were led to a room right on schedule for our ultrasound (I know, unheard of in medical offices!). The ultrasound tech was amazing. She was sweet, gentle, and explained what she was doing while she was doing it. She was able to answer some of our questions, and made sure to let us know when a question was more appropriate for our doctor than her. She made us feel safe, treated us warmly, and we felt she did a really effective job. Today (a day post-ultrasound), when we decided to seek another doctor's opinion, I called because I figured this doctor was going to need to review the images and report. The front desk staff made it so simple and explained my options for doing obtaining these. When we decided to just drive over and pick it up, she said she would prepare it immediately for us. This office was efficient, had great and highly competent staff, and was incredibly easy to work with. If you have to have imaging done, this is an excellent option. Also, and maybe most importantly, they have delicious COOKIES! read more

The first few times we great. I do wish their radiologists were a bit more detailed in their felorts especially for spine imaging. My reports from different facility in 2014-present weres far more detailed and liated things not listed here. These are types of things that sont go away... sorry Ive in healthcare imaging for over 15 years and see thousands of reports and their. Corresponding studies I love their hours,very convenient hours. The imaging techs were very comforting during MRIs when i have extreme anxiety even with meds form doc. read more

I've been to this location a few years back and don't recall the experience being as bad as it was today. Today I walked in to your establishment on time for my scheduled appointment. There were 3 receptionists at their desks. The one on the far right (when facing the reception area) looked at me and kept working. The one in the middle never looked up at all to even acknowledge my presence. It wasn't until the person on the end was about to get up from her desk that she just happened to notice I was standing there and proceeded to check me in. She wasn't friendly by any means but at least she noticed me. Did I mention there were NO other patients in the office?!? Once checked in, I sat down and waited to be called to the back. Another patient walked in, and was immediately greeted. They even went as far as greeting the next person that walked in and told them they'd be right with them. The only difference between myself and the others that walked in shortly after me was the color of my skin. It was an extremely uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience. Soon after I left the facility, I realized I'd left my water bottle. I walked back in there and still no one acknowledged me. I was able to walk straight to the back and retrieve my water bottle unnoticed and never acknowledged. I'm sure that's a security breach for a medical provider. My doctor referred me to this facility and I'll be letting her know about this experience and request that she provide an alternate imaging center because I'll never set foot in this racist establishment. It doesn't cost a dime to be kind. The fact that all 3 of these women were hired as receptionists and are the first impression a patient experiences when entering this establishment is more than unfortunate. I don't know if it's a lack of social intelligence, policies not being consistently enforced, or an overall bias when it comes to who they decide to greet but it's unacceptable and unkind. read more

I hate that I even have to give one star! This company has the worst record keeping I have ever encountered. They still have not updated our address on our account. So when the bills were sent out, it went to the wrong address until they sent me to collections. They had coded my claim incorrectly and didn't apply In network discounts which sat in collections for a year before they corrected the claim. I had to pay out even though it was the Touchstones incompetence that landed me there in first place. I will never use this company again. read more

Rude does not define the conversation I had with this office. First I was asked to hold for a "minute". Ultimately my hold time became 12 minutes. I understand business' are short-staffed. I understand we are amidst covid-19. I do not need defensiveness; on multiple levels. Do not talk over me as if your information is more important than mine. Take my call with some kind appropriate service level. This rates up there with the most offensive call I've ever encountered! Touchstone's billing department is a nightmare and I would recommend people stay away from them just because of that. Despite the fact they actually owe me money, which I told them more than once, they turned my account over to a collection agency. The techs at the Thornton office were all wonderful but the front desk woman was rude. read more

This outfit would not provide me with my MRI report by fax or email. They would fax it to my doctor, but not to me. They claimed it was a HIPAA violation, but I don't agree. I was contacted recently and advised they had changed their practice. Too late to help me, but I'm glad that this won't impact any future patients. read more

Worst experience ever. Referred to SCL Health to get an x-ray. My wife was in extreme pain in her back and unable to sit. The front desk person rolled their eyes when we told her that SCL Health sent us. She gave us the forms to fill out. When I took them back I asked what the cost might be with our insurance and how long this would take since my wife was in excruciating pain. She said she had no idea what the insurance would pay and would not even take the time to try and find out. She also told us we would just have to wait our turn and had no idea how long it would take and again would not even try to find out any information. After waiting for 1/2 hour we told them we were leaving. Our Dr. gave us another place to go which only took 15 minutes. Forms were pre-populated and all we had to do was sign and the estimate given us immediately. Wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. Lack of compassion, unprofessional, and plain lazy! read more

I don't recommend them for any service they are very rude to people they are not very considerate. They were so rude to my very sick child coming in for a MRI to see what was wrong that she didn't want to let them do it. I had to call my pediatrician to go to North suburban and I will go back to North suburban before I'll ever go back to Touchstone imaging ever again. read more
