My husband had a back procedure with Touchstone and after he had his procedure he went in to explain he is now worse they tried offering more surgery. They didnt listen or explained why he is in more pain then when he first came in. The just wanted to ignore the issue and move to a different kind of procedure. My wife and I have been patients at Touchstone for several months. Two weeks ago my wife had a Medtronic Neurostimulator installed in her spine and buttocks. We were called in from the waiting room to preop area. My wife is on oxygen 24/7. She was on her portable concentrator that will last less than one hour. I told them that they need to hook her up to their house oxygen and was confirmed they would do that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The medical assistant that was doing the preop gave us some compression stockings for my wife. I tried to put them on and could not do that, so I told the her that we needed help to put those on. Her comment was she had a bad shoulder and could not help us, I thought she would get someone else to help but that never happened.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After a few minutes she had changed into the gown and equipment they gave us. The IV was installed on her right arm. After a few minutes they came to get her for surgery. About 10 o'clock I was going upstairs to the surgery area to see if how my wife was doing. Before I got up there I received a phone call from one of the medical assistant upstairs and was told to park in the back in the pick up area which I did. I've been went upstairs to get my wife and when I went into the post op area the IV was still her arm and she had not gotten dressed yet. I then noticed the portable oxygen concentrator was hooked up to her nose and she replied that the battery had run down and she was just breathing regular air. So much for them hooking her up to the house oxygen, I don't know how long she was without oxygen. So I went downstairs to the car and obtained a back up battery. I got my wife dressed and they took my wife down to the car in a wheelchair. When we almost got home I got a phone call from Touchstone surgery center and they said I had to take my wife back to the surgeon sooner as soon as possible. They said they forgot to turn my wife's pacemaker back on which was turned off before surgery. So I head back to Touchstone surgery Center. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On the way back I got another call from Touchstone and they told me to take my wife to a doctor that I've never heard of before and we've never seen before to turn her pacemaker back on. I told him that I've never heard of this doctor before I had no idea where he was had asked for name and directions. They seemed irritated that I didn't know this doctor was and where his office was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They gave me his address which was in the cardio building near Asante Hospital. Before arriving at the cardiology building I received a phone call from the office that normally check my wife's pacemaker once a year and was told to take my wife to their office which I did. The gentleman there reset my wife's pacemaker back on. And after about 20 minutes we arrived home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Around 3 o'clock someone called from Touchstone surgery center and asked if we had gotten the pacemaker turned back on and my response was yes. I've been told the person that called to cancel my doctor at touchstones surgery center on Thursday which was two days later. She asked me why and I told her that the big screwup with my wife situation I was never returning to Touchstone for their help. Her sarcastic remark was it was just a mistake and I responded yes with my wife's life.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will never go back there and after to follow up visit for my wife I will not take her back there either. Poor management and leadership to begin with. Terrible place to work for. They loose imaging, charge for sedation thats not actually given. Dr's don't really listen to patients. They charge you for sedation injections when they don't actually give you the sedative. They care and quality of care is garbage. I was in the injection room crying in severe pain begging them to stop. I felt the needle go all the way in my spine and he nicked the nerve. I had a fever all night into the next morning. My body and pain level was beyond shock. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Horrible staff. They lie. Don't trust anyone within Touchstone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Worst people and place ever. Let me be clear: the sting and burn of the numbing agent was uncomfortable, but you didn't give my body 2 seconds before the next needle came into play. I felt everything, I said stop, I can feel the pain, the monitors were going off like a fire alarm. Someone should never feel the pain I felt. Nice try making it out to be me, when in all reality, it's your job to take the pain away. read more

I've been their patient for over 15 years. Their care providers used to be caring & helpful but now their hands are tied as they can't prescribe opiates any longer, only surgical treatment. They 'dumped' what I imagine were 300 patients who have to try to find a new pain management provider who will prescribe opiates that were working fine. In this valley just try to find a new provider (insert sarcasm here). My quality of life is dragging bottom. I remind myself that I'm no quitter & will get thru this eventually. I'm housebound now & cry often. because the pain never stops. All of this because they didn't want to bother with government regulations. getting appointments with them is vary hard 3 to 4 months just to get an appointment then a month or so to get into the office...then you have to wait to get the follow-up appointment if you need more than one treatment then the wait time starts all over again if you call to talk to the person that makes the appointments she NEVER answers the phone and asks for you to leave a message that she will get back to you .....that takes weeks......no matter how many times you try to call her.... I also get the impression that the office manager is not up to date on what is going on the office as far as appointments go... the staff that does the procedures is top notch!!! they are good efficient and vary friendly and seen to really care about you... they are great it's just a problem getting to them read more

Dr Sills is an amazing pain interventional doctor but he only sees patients at their first visit then passes the patients off to a revolving door of doctors that do not have the experience and training required for pain management. The actual doctors seeing patients appear to less interested in resolving patient problems or even decreasing pain through interventions and more interested in seeing as many patients as possible in the shortest amount of time without concern for patient needs. After 7+ years with this clinic and several doctors who do not appear to be trained or even knowledgeable about the interventions available which may help resolve my issues it seems to be time to move on to a clinic with trained, experienced doctors who see you in the clinic and hopefully care. Doctors who order current diagnostic tests upon which they base your treatment plan on and provide the latest treatment options. If Dr Sills had a medical staff with half of his knowledge, training and experience, he'd have an excellent clinic, but sadly he doesn't invest in trained pain management specialist to run his clinic. read more

He's all in for the CDC "guidelines" adopted by the OR medical board to forcibly remove opioids from the treatment options for chronic pain patients, and eager to sell you "new" (but still mostly worthless) neurostimulators, and electronic gadgets to get you "over your addiction to pain medicine" - all of which he gets a cut of, and paid handsomely to install, of course. And he doesn't want to hear about how people have successfully been taking opioid medications for 10-30 years, etc because it doesn't fit his (clearly scripted) narrative. Guy is a quack - as are most of the new toe-the-line "pain doctors". There wont be good pain care in Oregon until patients and doctors either get legislation passed protecting us, or the people on the medical board finally meet the fate they so richly deserve and see first hand why opioids, when properly prescribed and used, are perfectly appropriate - even in "high" dosages. read more

So an update... I figured out that in Oregon doctors have to send people on pain medicine for "chronic" pain to places called "pain clinics"... I am from CA and didnt know about that. Pain clinics treat normal people like me, and twacked out druggies... so as a result you get a lot of patients being seen by few providers, and a staff that is somewhat jaded about patients in general. Nevertheless, for me this does not excuse not helping someone who is in pain, but I understand the reluctance to make call backs somewhat, I guess. I still do not recommend nor give Interventional Pain Clinics a even ok review, but I think that this is symptomatic of the drug abuse in Rogue Valley moreso than a lack of care from the people who work here. My GP was somewhat horrified by the stories about this place I had, and is switching me to another clinic, which he says may be less full of tweaky looking folks. Hopefully noone else has a similar experience at Interventional Pain Clinic. read more

Dr Sills is a great provider. But his scheduling person, named Connie does not And will not do her job. I have contacted her for pre authorized treatments with zero results! Why can't she just do her job. Like any other caring person in a medical office. Seriously would like to know who her supervisor is! Getting No were Fast! Very discouraging! read more
