The outer shells are whisper thin, reflecting true skill on the part of those casting the chocolate. The fruit fillings are bright and sharp and in the multi-flavored fillings the individual flavors meld harmoniously but are each distinctly recognizable. Highly recommended. The cafe is small with both indoor and outdoor seating. Situated on a quiet, leafy corner of Avenida Amsterdam it's a wonderful place to start the with coffee or an indulgent mocha and pastry. I wish they offered their cakes by the slice as I've never been a big fan of laminated pastry but stuff anything with gianduja and it's bound to rock. N.B. The danish is actually a cruffin made from croissant dough but it's buttery and well laminated and unless you're a weird chocolate hater you'll be happy.

There's a huge selection of sweets, so you are bound to find something you like. I tried a few items and thought they were good...sweet.but not wayyyy too sweet either. Overall, the shop prices its sweet very reasonably...if anything, it's very affordable for those American tourists with USD. The only minor draw back is it's really a to-go shop. You order your sweets and everything is in a bag/box. There's no place really to sit around and enjoy your treats in their shop.

We grabbed some scrumptious truffles, small filled hard candy balls, and chocolate covered coffee beans. It was def cacao. Per Belgium standards, I think it has to be 63% cacao to be called chocolate; not milk chocolate (think of a Toblerone). The guava pastry and puerquito were very fresh, soft and not crummy at all. The cafe de olla was addicting with the spices being perfectly balanced. It sets the standard for cafe de olla... it's not clear if I'll ever get one as good as the one they make here. We ordered a slice of the tres leches and napoleon. Tres leches was moist and the napoleon also was delish. Everything was well priced and a decent size for the price. The concha was also good, not too dry. They have an outdoor patio with shades. The menu also offer a variety of coffee drinks although we didn't try it this time. Overall, a great stop for a sweet treat.
