This review is for both the cafe and chocolate shop. The shop is using high end chocolate such as Valrhona and Republica de Cacao and the prices reflect it. The bonbons are outstanding. The outer shells are whisper thin, reflecting true skill on the part of those casting the chocolate. The fruit fillings are bright and sharp and in the multi-flavored fillings the individual flavors meld harmoniously but are each distinctly recognizable. Highly recommended. The cafe is small with both indoor and outdoor seating. Situated on a quiet, leafy corner of Avenida Amsterdam it's a wonderful place to start the with coffee or an indulgent mocha and pastry. I wish they offered their cakes by the slice as I've never been a big fan of laminated pastry but stuff anything with gianduja and it's bound to rock. N.B. The danish is actually a cruffin made from croissant dough but it's buttery and well laminated and unless you're a weird chocolate hater you'll be happy. read more

This is a very classy cafe that features gourmet chocolate in all types of forms. It's nice and chill and not so formal where you can still bring your dog. I ordered a large cookie that they call Tableta Rota de Alamendra y con leche. It means it's a larger size cookie with almonds and milk. I was almost in the mood to also get a large prepared hot chocolate as well. We stayed for about an hour, catching up on a couple of work items on our phone and tablet. I liked the outside seating and sitting there was quite refreshing on a warm December dusk in la Condessa. The cafe is warm and friendly and their chocolate creations are amazing. They even have displays of miniatire chocolate houses for the holiday season. I think the chocolate creations are what make this cafe trendy and unique. read more

I am a dark chocolate connoisseur so I love trying new chocolate shops when I travel. I scoped out 3 different spots in Mexico City and I have to say I was disappointed by all three. Tout Chocolat came closest to fitting the bill for my preferences because they offer mostly single origin chocolates instead of bonbons. We stopped by the shop on Thursday afternoon and there wasn't any chocolate on display which I found odd. I thought about just turning tail and leaving but I asked the man behind the counter and he said that they were only offering pre-boxed chocolates because they were out of so much due to the holidays. Again, I found this unusual because it was a solid 2 weeks after Christmas. No matter, I optimistically purchased a pre put together box of 14 chocolates to take home with me. I have been eating them since I got home, the single origin chocolates are fine but nothing special and the ones with nut filling have an unpleasant grainy texture that I haven't come across with other brands. Maybe I went to the wrong places but I was expecting to find higher quality chocolate in CDMX. Better luck next time I guess! read more

Earl grey + chocolate = liquid heaven. Why can't there be a place near me where I can get an earl grey chocolate drink, the best of both worlds? This is what I found at Tout Chocolat and have been on the hunt ever since. We found out about Tout Chocolat after walking around the area and made a plan to visit the following day when it was open. Right before we entered, someone walked out of Tout Chocolat and said to us it was the best chocolate spot in all of Mexico City. Okurrrr! Tout Chocolat has a separate area for getting chocolates, with a display case of different truffles, as well as bars, pastries and other treats. For drinks, there was a separate counter for where we went to order our beverages. My partner had a spicy hot chocolate while I had an iced earl grey chocolate drink. We then picked a seat outside on the patio where the staff delivered our drinks. Both of our drinks were fantastic! Lots of rich, chocolate flavor, made with high-quality ingredients. It was awesome. My partner's drink was very good, and comforting, from the warmth of his hot chocolate. However, earl grey tea is my favorite tea and I do love chocolate, so the combination of these two flavors in my drink was as if it was made for me. Loved it! For anyone who loves chocolate, which should be everyone, Tout Chocolat is an outstanding place for just that. read more

This cute artisanal chocolate place in Condessa area of Mexico city has amazing collection of hand made chocolates and chocolate drinks. It's not only good for souvenirs back to wherever you are from, but also great place for you to take a break and enjoy their amazing chocolates. I got their mocha but they also have multiple options for non-caffeinated drinks. Their artisanal chocolate bon-bons were one of the best I've ever had around the world. Each of them had such rich chocolate taste but at the same time the flavours that I chose were infused, with a perfect balance. The staffs there were very kind and patient with us. Even though we don't speak Spanish well, they tried their best to explain in mix of English and easy Spanish words. You can take it to-go, but inside the store is so cozy and clean - I'd recommend sipping the drink inside and enjoying their interior :) Amazing experience :) Would 100% recommend and would come back given a chance! read more

Tout Chocolat is one of my favorite places in Mexico City! It is situated on Amsterdam Avenue, right by the charming Hipódromo, in my favorite CDMX neighborhood, Condesa. They have a great little menu that you can use to order drinks (english on one side and spanish on the other) and seats inside and out. My top recommendation is the Gianduja chocolate drink, a delicious blend of hazelnut cream and chocolate. I got it hot, and I loved it so much that I found myself making a return visit the very next day. The shop also offers chocolate gifts, like personalized boxes of chocolates and bags of chocolate-covered nuts. I can't sing their praises enough; I love this shop. I've officially declared it a must-visit for any future trips to this city. read more

OMG! Come for the delectable chocolates and stay for the coffee and pastries , this place is amazing!

We stumbled across this little shop while exploring the neighborhood. The displays inside were very cute and everything looked delicious. This gentleman started helping us. We tried communicating in our broken Spanish but he happened to speak English. He explained how everything works and definitely knew his stuff when we asked about the different flavors and kinds. We ordered chocolates and macaroons. He placed everything in cute little plastic sleeves and asked us if we had any other questions. We also saw a lady purchasing boxes of chocolates and the packaging was so beautiful and elegant looking. Cool place! Thumbs up! And the sweets were indeed delicious, but delicate. read more

Good chocolate but pricey. If you like rich, dark chocolate then definitely go for the chocolate bars, especially the one which has a mix of Mexican and Peruvian cacao, it's decadent. In my opinion good chocolate is to be enjoyed pure and the flavored chocolate truffles, although some may be tasty, take away and distract the palate from the delicious chocolate flavor which is supposed to be the highlight. read more

I haven't tried the dark chocolate I bought for her, but we did buy 4 small chocolates to sample (went to nearby Caffe Toscano to get a cappucino and sit outside). We tried: 1. Passionfruit 2. The chocolate is delicious. Bought the pino grande (I think) set and did a taste test by myself. There were 14 chocolates (~less than $1 usd per). Unfortunately I didn't ask for descriptions as I thought there might've been some inside the box. As mentioned, all of the the chocolate is delicious. A gentleman here spoke near perfect English. We saw other patrons asking him tourist questions too ha. He recommended a bunch of truffles for me to try. They were delicious and good quality. I'm a chocolate snob and only buy from Patric, Stick with me, and Kees in the US. He also recommended a 66% Mexico dark chocolate bar which was perfect for gifting. I prefer milk but he said the Mexican cocoa beans are too acidic for milk chocolate so the milk bars I bought are of Dominican origin. The bar is average but easier to transport for gifting. They also have pretty pastries which my gfs enjoyed. Great service. read more
