I've visited a few times since I'm always sending postcards from beautiful places. The staff has always been very nice and can sell you individual stamps which is always appreciated. If you stay at the Zion National Park Lodge, you can drive down a little further after entering a gate code, but you can't proceed down past the lodge. Therefore, if you want to enjoy the drive to its fullest, I would recommend biking in (unless you want to walk the entire length). My opinion is that the shuttle has enough stops to let you off at, and that the park is so scenic, that taking the shuttle will take you 99% of the way there for the full experience of the drive. This is a great way to experience Zion if you have mobility issues or don't want to hike.

It's lesser known I think because the…read morevisitors all swarm to Bryce, but I think it's a good thing too, which gives it a different vibe. There a bunch of informational signs outside the visitor center which provide information driving tours, hikes, ecology of the area, etc. From the parking lot are trail heads to hoodoo & birdseye trail, and also pink ledges trailhead. It is 7 miles from Panguitch, UT and 13 miles from Bryce Canyon National Park. TIP: It's only open from late Spring to early October. There are educational displays here. You can purchase clothing, magnets, bottles, toys, books, and other souvenirs. As always, you can ask staff questions and get a map of the area. Outside are large panels with information pertinent to the area for recreation activities, wildlife and plants here in the Dixie National Forest. Lots of good advice and particulars! About 1.3 miles (maybe 3 minutes out) East from this Visitor Center, there are 2 Red Canyon Arches (or tunnels). They span Highway 12 and you drive through them. They are close in distance. Be prepared to take pictures or stop at the turnout. Along this road to & from Bryce Canyon you can see some magnificent hoodoos & cliffs. It's no wonder this is called a Scenic Byway! For those interested in rubber stamp images, they have one for Dixie National Forest, Red Canyon _ Dixie National Forest, and Smokey (paw print). Take time to stop in at this visitor center! Stretch your legs. There are short trails where you can explore the area. If we have time the next time we stop in, I would love to explore the Pink Ledges Trail and the Hoodoo Trail.

Hubby & I were in awe of how pretty and serene St. George was when we explored the area and spent…read morethe night. It's a fairly small town named after George A. Smith, an LDS Church apostle. I loved the Downtown St. George! There are so many pieces of art that are free to see as you walk around! Art Around The Corner has done an amazing job with lots of great sculptures out in the open! They are scattered all around Downtown. The website lists 36 of them and you can use the map to take a walking tour. It was quite hot when we arrived, so we didn't walk around more than 30 minutes. We went to the St. George Town Square Park and checked it out. There are lots of sculptures as well! There are some great water features where we saw children enjoying themselves! We ate at J. Dawg's and then went to Zeppe's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard, both recommended by my son & his wife. These are really inexpensive and delicious options! After eating at both places, I highly recommend them, too! I don't even like hot dogs, but I'd go again! Be sure to get their fries ... super!! If you're headed to Zion or Bryce National Parks, this is a great place to stop for the night. It is only about 45 minutes to Zion. We have been through St. George a handful of times, but never really stopped to enjoy it. This is a really great little town and I'm sure we'll stop again next time we are this way!!

This review is for the St. George City, Utah Water Department for their introduction of the…read moreEyeOnWater program where they've installed Leak Alert Detector devices on our water meters and an app to download and review the usage in real-time. Recently, I received an email notice from the Water Department, stating that my water meter was now equipped with the leak detector and at no additional cost, I could download the EyeOnWater app, enroll and monitor my usage in real time. That day I received a push notice I had an 8 1/2 gal/hr. (192 gal/day) leak since installing the leak detector on September 18th that I was completely unaware of. The leak was observed at that time only because the detector was installed that day, but most likely, the leak could have been there for years. Then the quest to find it began. Since I already knew, thank God, where the water system for the Main and irrigation system met at the south side of my house, I began digging there (I was unable to find any areas of puddling water anywhere on my property that could indicate a possible leak) luckily within a short time the ground began showing moisture, then mud, then finally water. It was my Main water line that the geniuses who backfilled the trench when the home was built, dumped a 50 lb. boulder on it. (SMH), thanks, Ence Homes! In the end, the repair went well, saving thousands of dollars from having to pay plumbing professionals $$$$$. I am extremely grateful that the St. George Water Department made the decision to put these leak detectors on and make them available for us to monitor. Update: 11.24.25 Now, having the opportunity to use the EyeOnWater app and monitor my water usage without the 192gal/day water leak, I find most days we're using under that amount in total unless we're doing laundry and/or outside irrigation. So, for possibly some years now, we've lost 192 gal/day, everyday thanks to the incompetent people Ence Homes contracted to backfill our irrigation/main water line trench. Our new Ence Homes slogan is, Ence Homes, the ROCK of homebuilding. (No pun intended.) We couldn't be more grateful to our St. George City Water Department for the incredible decision to place leak meters on our systems, which, again, was the deciding factor that exposed our leak. It is also fantastic to have an app that is as well, extremely useful for monitoring our water usage (every 15 minutes if we want to see how much water a flush, shower, washing machine or the outside irrigation usage is. Otherwise, we can monitor the usage weekly, monthly and/or annually.) from now on. Again, we are so grateful to our Water Department, THANK YOU!

Our cabin was like 10 minutes away from one of the ponds which was semi-frozen. The duck Creek Village had a few good size Ace Hardware that's sold groceries, there was also a gas station, coffee shop, and I did see a pizza place all within walking distance. I most definitely will be back during one of the other season.

You turn off at Cedar City and then have about a 50 minute drive up a mountain that is very steep and scary. I hate driving so close to the edge, I white knuckled it all the way up! I definitely would not want to drive this at night! Duck Creek Village is near Cedar Breaks National Monument and Brian Head. It is in the Dixie National Forest. The temperature the third week of June was roughly around 68-70 during the day, but at night it drops to 40 degrees! You need pants and long sleeve shirts! It is near Lake Navajo and it is so beautiful and peaceful up here! You will see deer, chipmunks, and lots of birds! I noticed there were places where you could rent ATVs. There was also a place to go horseback riding. You have to get your food in Cedar City and there is a Walmart you should stop at BEFORE going up the mountain. Try to get everything that you need before you go up, because once you are at the cabin, you won't really want to leave! FYI there is very little reception on the mountain, so unless your cabin has Wi-fi, you will be out of touch with everyone!
