Based on other favorable reviews we found, we gave Sergiy a call and we're very glad we did! Sergiy quoted on performing several repairs around our home, such as replacing rotted fascia, re-aligning gutters so they now drain properly, replacing roof shingles damaged by SuperStorm Sandy, and replacing a rotted 4x4 supporting an overhanging roof. He and his Dad did what they said they'd do, and more. They used quality materials as I requested, matched the roof shingles perfectly, and sealed a roof leak that a roofing contractor - the guy who replaced the roof - was unable to fix in the past. Sergiy did a top-quality job, pouring a correct concrete footing for the pressure-treated 4x4 and using a stainless-steel retaining anchor to properly seat the 4x4 on the concrete pad so it will never rot in the future. Sergiy is personable, friendly and dependable. He is a man of his word. He and his Dad worked very hard, left the site clean, bagged all the trash (they even swept!) and he wants you to be happy with his craftsmanship, which we are. My husband and I hired My Town Handyman in December of 2013 to refinish a full bathroom (shower) down to and including some of the original studs. The job included the following: - new subfloor; - new sheetrock throughout (walls,ceiling, skylight); - tile floor; - fully tiled shower (floor, walls, ceiling; they followed our chosen design); - custom shower glass door installation (we ordered the door & panel); - new baseboard hot warter pipes and cover; - primer & paint; - double vanity & dual sink installation; - toilet installation; - sink and shower hardware; - bathroom door (stain one side, paint the other); - new fan installation with roof discharge (mounted in the attic, not the ceiling); Their price for the job fair, but not the lowest bid we received. We're a bit more focused on the details than the average homeowner, so the potential for conflict is always there on our contracting jobs. Sergiy and his guys were a pleasure to work with. Sergiy and his team just fixed my kitchen ceiling. They did a professional job from putting up the dry wall, spackling, sanding, priming and painting; everything was done in a proper procedure with lots of attention to details. They went above and beyond, even fixed some areas that were not done properly by my previous contractor. The end result was amazing, the kitchen ceiling is smooth as new, and you cannot tell that it has been patched up. In addition, they kept the work area clean, covering all my cabinets and even blackboard with plastic sheets. Every day before they left my house, they cleaned up work area thoroughly.
