After a very thorough inspection of our basement and a very detailed explanation of options, we decided to schedule them to redo the insulation in our basement with the basement to beautiful system. We also had a dehumidifier and a new sump pump with drainage added. One thing I loved about them is they showed up when they said they would, on time, and put in full days to make sure the job was getting done in a timely manner. Anne kept me up-to-date by text every single day to let me know what they'd completed and what was next in the queue. All interactions I had with every member of the family who worked at my home was genuine and pleasant. Additionally, even though they ran into an unexpectedly thick basement floor and had to use a special tool for the trench in the basement, they still somehow managed to finish on time.. Another thing I found very impressive is they actually left any space they used cleaner than they found it. My basement floor and the basement windows were immaculate when the job was finished. They used our garage to cut the insulation boards on a day when it was quite rainy and swept out our entire garage; not just any insulation bits that happened to fall on the floor...the entire floor! There's always a certain level of mess when you're having any type of renovation done, especially if you have cement jackhammered, but the amount of cleaning I had to do afterwards was minimal in part due to the fact that they took precautions to try to keep the rest of my house as clean as possible, and contain the mess to only the basement (which they then cleaned as soon as the job was done). His story line is "I am a Christian, as honest as the day is long, and I want to earn your future business with high quality work". He took 8 weeks to do a job he said would be completed in a week. He said we needed "17 to 20 squares of siding" and never told us if he estimated wrong he could not bring back the rest of it. He charged us $700 a square for the siding, ordered 17 squares, only received 15 squares and only used 12 squares. We were stuck with $2,100 of siding we can't use. Again: he never said he could not return the extra if he measured wrong; and using 12 of 17 means he was off by 30%. He used subcontractors, some of them first-time subcontractors. His son would foreman the work, and always came late and went home early. The excuses for the delays were almost endless; often involving some relative that died or was sick and that he had to leave state. At the end he told one of his employees "the work looks good so I am going to try to squeeze them for more money after the job is done". He told us "I would like some extra money at the end beyond our signed contract because I feel my son did a better than expected job". We only paid him the agreed to amount even though he never sided one portion of the house that was requested; and at the end we had an employee call us asking for some money because he said "Mike never paid me my money". I recommend you use anyone but this company. The owner will act like he knows what he's doing; but in reality he seems like he is new to this. We constantly had to walk around the house and point out the things they got wrong. You end up being the foreman even though you are paying him to be that.
