I just had my wedding here (reception only) and it was amazing! Sally was super responsive to my emails and phone calls from the time we signed the contract to the day of. She gave me a check-in call the week of the wedding to make sure we were both on the same page with plans. My coordinator went in the morning of the wedding to set everything up and it went very smoothly. There was another woman there from the clubhouse helping throughout the whole night bussing tables and cleaning up which was a surprise and bonus! At the end of the night, Sally helped carry things out to cars and dealt with trash and cleanup. Sally is opinionated and I can see how it may feel like she's pushing you to do something, but we were firm on our decisions and she respected that. We never had an incident of her yelling or being rude whatsoever. Respect the historical clubhouse and the rules she has in place, and you'll have no problem with her. And Make sure you're as clear as possible with what you want and your expectations! Overall, I had a great experience at Vermilion on the Lake Clubhouse!!

Liberty Playground in Elmwood Park is so nice for children! All was cleaned and there was only two…read moremissing items to utilize the park fully. People were socially distanced at the park. The bathrooms were available near by however we didn't use them. There is a bicycle park as well for children called safety town. There were various slides; zip line, rock climbing and swings!

Has been shut down due to health issues. So I called this center to see if my disabled daughter could use the walking lap , when the snow comes in, it's very difficult for her. I asked the receptionist, and she said 465 dollars a year. Than said hold on let me check, than put me on hold for 10 minutes . I hung up with much dismay. I wouldn't call this a community center, it's more like a recreation center that truly wants to keep non residents out. I would never take a disabled person to this center. Only for young or senior center more like it.

The DIS is a beautiful community center remodeled from a old grade school…read more The campus is nestled inside of a residential community on the west side of Detroit. The space is filled with nonprofit businesses offering much needed community resources. There is also a gym space, a renovated swimming pool area, which unfortunately no longer houses a pool, but it is now a cool rental space. There's also a convenience store, a Toarmina's Pizza, a community laundry space and a cool arcade inside. I've visited on a number of occasions as the agency I work for has remote offices in the space, offering various resources for the community. It's also a great place to network and meet other Detroiters. The parking lot is sizable and the building is managed by a great company and is secured with guards, inside and out.
