It is important for different cultures to have spaces where they they can go which represent their beliefs and their and their folks. I attend the Community House on a regular basis to participate in a woman's circle. The Ava Jo Gathering Space holds the vibration of love and feels very warm and cozy. The esthetic is a bright depiction of African and Black American cultures with lots of art, posters, and inscriptions on the walls. There are always various event flyers, business cards and leaflets to take. The community house includes a cyber cafe, and co-working options and is available for a variety of activities facilitated by different community groups, and businesses. The gathering space is also rented for baby showers, pop-ups, and other celebrations and meetings.

When I went to pick up the art that I'd paid for, I was greeted by an exhibition's closing complete with a cookout and talk from the artist. Youthville's offers programs for kids, developed by kids in such areas of art, education and computers. More specifically, they offer classes like So You Want To Be A DJ, which shows youth the basics of using turntables,a book club, archery, ceramics, and a graphic and animation class. Youthville is a decent, well supervised recreation center for teens. The classes are mostly good…read more(some are too superficial or unorganized) and the staff are all VERY nice. It's important to know that even though this is a recreation center for teens up to age 19, it is very heavily attended by middle school students. So older teens might not feel as comfortable. The kids seem to like the pool tables, snack bar and music production classes best. For adults who want to hang out and wait for their kid to finish class, there's a parent waiting room that's pretty nice.
