It permeates the clothing and some of the accessories. I have bought clothing that I had to launder several times to alleviate the smell and it's still not completely gone, or dust down leather purses with baking soda and let sit outside. I can't imagine I'm the only one who does not like these scents. It is an assault on the senses and a hassle to get out of purchases.
