I won a free photo session and 14 inch print of my choice for my dogs. I was fully prepared for an experience like a time share presentation. I am so happy to say that I was wrong! Everyone was lovely. Mellow music played in the waiting room while a welcome message appeared on a monitor. When it was our turn, we were led to another room for our photo shoot. The dogs were given time to sniff around before we began. Our photographer was professional and patient. When we were done, we went to another room where we were shown a slideshow of the photos, and from there I was able to narrow it down to my favorites. The employee helping me gave me an overview of packages and prices, but I never felt pressured to upgrade. Ultimately, I am on a budget so I chose my one photo for my free print and that was that. Now mind you I had a free portrait with my cat. But if they wanted to spend $11,000 on Porsches, they could've focus more on the humans in the pictures versus the cat. We got invited into a pet portrait photoshoot that we supposedly won, but I'm so glad we did because wow, these pics are amazing! Don't get me wrong, pricy!! But I'm blown away by the quality. What we "won" was $1000 off, but that's only if you buy the big stuff, that is around three grand and up. I never expected to have a family photo shoot with Biscotti other than Santa but we honestly enjoyed our experience. Corey was our photographer and was so good with our dog, and patient with us. Now don't get me wrong, if you want a cheap $200-500 photo session this is not your place! The package with 5 printed photos and digital copies was over $1000, but I regret nothing. I won a free session and they called me everyday to get my photos schedule. Once I set a time they said you have to leave $100 deposit which makes no sense, if I "won" this giveaway but they said it would be refunded once the photos where taken. A month pass and that's when my $100 deposit expired and it would go as credit to my photos. I wasn't aware the deposit would expire as nobody made that clear when I asked questions but they would go around the question. We had a great time during the photos, they sat us down for the presentation of the pictures and they pressure you to buy $5,400 worth for the photos when they don't make the prices clear. If you do not make your decision right there on the spot, the photos will be deleted forever which is not fair to pressure people in buying something they're not ready for. Scam !!! read more

We had the opportunity to have a free session with Townsley Portraits after my husband saw an ad for their free couples photoshoot on Instagram. There was a $100 scheduling deposit and we were told in advance that the photos would come out in black and white, so we dressed accordingly. We were both very cautious on our way to the shoot after reading these reviews, as thousands of dollars was definitely NOT in our budget should we end up liking any of the photos enough to purchase copies of. Getting started was very easy. Brittany, our photographer, and Akiera were absolute superstars during our photoshoot, which probably took no more than 10-15 minutes. They chatted while guiding us how to pose and smile. Brittany with all of her energy and enthusiasm was a total natural at getting us to feel comfortable since we are fairly camera shy people. After the shoot, they had us wait in a separate room with some free sodas and snacks while they prepared a digital slideshow of our photos. This took probably another 10-15 minutes. When they were ready, we were handed off to a different employee and brought to their viewing room -- essentially a dim room where we sat on a sofa and looked at each of our photos projected onto the wall one by one while listening to slow romantic music. There were probably 20-30 photos in total. After the presentation, the worker basically did his spiel on getting us to reminisce about our relationship and upselling more expensive photo packages. My husband and I actually really liked some of the shots (we've never had professional photos done before), but the price tags were simply insane for us at this stage in our lives. We were honest in that we just wanted the free 14 inch x 11 inch print copy of 1 photo of our choosing, but we did have to sit through a long back-and-forth since he was very much trying to get us to consider the large canvas packages closer to $3k-4k. Eventually, he realized we really weren't budging and then let us know that if we wanted a digital copy of the photo we chose, that would cost the $100 deposit which we were OK with. So yes if you want a completely 100% free photoshoot, you could get your deposit back if you're OK with only getting mailed one 14 inch x 11 inch print without the digital copy. A week or so after our shoot, we got a handwritten thank you card in the mail by Brittany Akiera which I thought was very sweet. For the actual 14 x 11 inch photo, it took about 3 weeks for it to arrive in the mail. I thought it was just a tad over-edited, but overall a very nice print! TLDR; I totally recommend the free photoshoot which comes with one 14 x 11 inch print copy of a photo of your choice. The photos come out really great. If you plan on spending nothing, you will still unfortunately have to sit through a viewing session and awkwardly decline the salesperson's multiple business tactics. I think it's at least worth it to let them keep the $100 deposit so you can get the digital version too. read more

Although our couple anniversary photos came out nice, I will say the method they use to get customers is scammy. I saw Townsley through an Instagram Ad- where it had you "put in your information for a chance to win a *FREE* couples photography session!" They called me up less than a week after, "congratulating me for winning" talking me through the whole process, getting to know me. It felt nice. Then, flash forward to the day of the session. We get there. It's nothing like they mentioned on the phone, they said there would be "nice drinks for us" that there will be props we could use to take pictures. The session is pretty quick. Photographers were nice but that's all it was. They then show us the pictures and leave the price all the way at the end. Heads up- you're looking to pay at least 3 thousand dollars if you want a decent amount of all the pictures you took. They reel you in with the "Free session and portraits up to 1,800 value!" not telling you what the actual cost of everything else is/to take the pictures home with you. I do love how the pictures came out. But really wish they were more honest with their clientele. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend unless you're going in knowing what you're going to pay. Such a beautiful process with my family. The photographers were very experienced and knowledgable with all the poses. They captured real family moments and the ambiance when reviewing the photos was soo relaxing and interesting! They set the mood and create a slideshow of your black and white photos so that it's easy to select your favorites. The studio was clean, with many props to use and there were so many photos we loved. It took about an hour and a half to shoot our photos and choose our package. This place is a complete scam. I won a free photo session with $1000 of credits towards a package. Their packages are TRIPLED in price compared to any other photography company or person. The pictures come out great, however they only do black and white which is also kind of annoying. They don't even keep your photos for like 90 days. You have to decide on the spot that day if you want to buy them or they dispose of everything. It's a waste of time. It's a waste of energy. & it's false advertising. After you're done with your session they put this sappy music on and throw you in this room and try all the sales tactics they can to pressure you into buying these packages of photos which are priced from $1000-$5000 depending on what you're buying. The only issue I had was why I needed to pay $99 before like now to book an appointment then I would get refunded after the session she said . Wish me and my bf went through the comment section of social media first because we found out the hard way that these people are unscrupulous and they bait you first with the idea you won a shoot, worded it as though the shoot is valued at 1k and completely covered when truly it is 6x that, then corner you into making purchase as large as a few thousand dollars. They should very much disclose when someone wins, that the 1k will be applied to the many thousand dollars they will upsell you and see how many people are truly interested. Not just 1k off of 2k or 3k, but up to several thousand dollars which I've now seen that other people have also been baited into with a misleading promotion stating that they've won a free shoot, with a deposit of $99. Should've been my first red flag. For a person who hasn't experienced this kind of scam, it seems as though it's very easy to say no and walk out of the room. Maybe for some, yes. But clearly not for everyone since there are several stories like this if you look closely enough into their IG comments and what people truly have to say on the Better Business Bureau website. Who the f*** would ever think that their photoshoot would ever cost even anything more than $1,500?They must know the psychological play on emotions which the photos will probably make you love them, put you in a cozy room and review your photos. By the time you know it, you're in too deep and have wasted so much time out of your day when they abruptly drop the ball on you that the items you want are a few thousand dollars which they give you the option to finance with a third party bank in order to ensure you can purchase. If we had known from the jump that this would be how it played out, we'd have given it a hard pass. They know that people tend to feel excited when they win something that sounds nearly too good to be true, but the reason I didn't further question it is because it is a local business and never imagined they'd have the audacity to operate this way and essentially rob you in person. I hope this review can enlighten the next potential victim so that at least they know what to expect with these kind of people. Again, several stories from other customers are all over the Better Business Beaureu's page, and Instagram if you just take a closer look.
