Once I set a time they said you have to leave $100 deposit which makes no sense, if I "won" this giveaway but they said it would be refunded once the photos where taken. A month pass and that's when my $100 deposit expired and it would go as credit to my photos. I wasn't aware the deposit would expire as nobody made that clear when I asked questions but they would go around the question. We had a great time during the photos, they sat us down for the presentation of the pictures and they pressure you to buy $5,400 worth for the photos when they don't make the prices clear. They talk very fast when viewing photos and only discuss the specifics on the price at the end of the session. I had a shady experience that didn't feel genuine here. It was supposed to be a fun giveaway but the company wasn't trying to be fun or celebratory in a genuine way. Such a beautiful process with my family. The photographers were very experienced and knowledgable with all the poses. They captured real family moments and the ambiance when reviewing the photos was soo relaxing and interesting! They set the mood and create a slideshow of your black and white photos so that it's easy to select your favorites. The studio was clean, with many props to use and there were so many photos we loved. It took about an hour and a half to shoot our photos and choose our package. What we "won" was $1000 off, but that's only if you buy the big stuff, that is around three grand and up. I never expected to have a family photo shoot with Biscotti other than Santa but we honestly enjoyed our experience. Corey was our photographer and was so good with our dog, and patient with us. Now don't get me wrong, if you want a cheap $200-500 photo session this is not your place! The package with 5 printed photos and digital copies was over $1000, but I regret nothing. We had the opportunity to have a free session with Townsley Portraits after my husband saw an ad for their free couples photoshoot on Instagram. There was a $100 scheduling deposit and we were told in advance that the photos would come out in black and white, so we dressed accordingly. We were both very cautious on our way to the shoot after reading these reviews, as thousands of dollars was definitely NOT in our budget should we end up liking any of the photos enough to purchase copies of. Getting started was very easy. Brittany, our photographer, and Akiera were absolute superstars during our photoshoot, which probably took no more than 10-15 minutes. They chatted while guiding us how to pose and smile. Brittany with all of her energy and enthusiasm was a total natural at getting us to feel comfortable since we are fairly camera shy people. After the shoot, they had us wait in a separate room with some free sodas and snacks while they prepared a digital slideshow of our photos. This took probably another 10-15 minutes. When they were ready, we were handed off to a different employee and brought to their viewing room -- essentially a dim room where we sat on a sofa and looked at each of our photos projected onto the wall one by one while listening to slow romantic music. There were probably 20-30 photos in total. After the presentation, the worker basically did his spiel on getting us to reminisce about our relationship and upselling more expensive photo packages. My husband and I actually really liked some of the shots (we've never had professional photos done before), but the price tags were simply insane for us at this stage in our lives. We were honest in that we just wanted the free 14 inch x 11 inch print copy of 1 photo of our choosing, but we did have to sit through a long back-and-forth since he was very much trying to get us to consider the large canvas packages closer to $3k-4k. Eventually, he realized we really weren't budging and then let us know that if we wanted a digital copy of the photo we chose, that would cost the $100 deposit which we were OK with. So yes if you want a completely 100% free photoshoot, you could get your deposit back if you're OK with only getting mailed one 14 inch x 11 inch print without the digital copy. A week or so after our shoot, we got a handwritten thank you card in the mail by Brittany Akiera which I thought was very sweet. For the actual 14 x 11 inch photo, it took about 3 weeks for it to arrive in the mail. I thought it was just a tad over-edited, but overall a very nice print! TLDR; I totally recommend the free photoshoot which comes with one 14 x 11 inch print copy of a photo of your choice. The photos come out really great. If you plan on spending nothing, you will still unfortunately have to sit through a viewing session and awkwardly decline the salesperson's multiple business tactics. I think it's at least worth it to let them keep the $100 deposit so you can get the digital version too. read more

I'm glad I did some research before booking a session. I got a phone call and a text saying that I won the photo contest. Well that's a scam because everybody who enters wins. Then i was told the prize is a free photo session with a picture that's worth $1000 but when I asked how big it is I was told it was only 14 inches. Then I looked at the other reviews and found out that they will pressure you into buying pictures that are thousands of dollars. Plus, in addition in order to book the session you have to put down a $99 deposit that they say is refundable but if you really won a contest, you shouldn't have to put anything down at all. Although our couple anniversary photos came out nice, I will say the method they use to get customers is scammy. I saw Townsley through an Instagram Ad- where it had you "put in your information for a chance to win a *FREE* couples photography session!" They called me up less than a week after, "congratulating me for winning" talking me through the whole process, getting to know me. It felt nice. Then, flash forward to the day of the session. We get there. It's nothing like they mentioned on the phone, they said there would be "nice drinks for us" that there will be props we could use to take pictures. The session is pretty quick. Photographers were nice but that's all it was. They then show us the pictures and leave the price all the way at the end. Heads up- you're looking to pay at least 3 thousand dollars if you want a decent amount of all the pictures you took. They reel you in with the "Free session and portraits up to 1,800 value!" not telling you what the actual cost of everything else is/to take the pictures home with you. I do love how the pictures came out. But really wish they were more honest with their clientele. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend unless you're going in knowing what you're going to pay. This place is a complete scam. I won a free photo session with $1000 of credits towards a package. Their packages are TRIPLED in price compared to any other photography company or person. The pictures come out great, however they only do black and white which is also kind of annoying. They don't even keep your photos for like 90 days. You have to decide on the spot that day if you want to buy them or they dispose of everything. It's a waste of time. It's a waste of energy. & it's false advertising. I won a free portrait and I loved it! The session was fun and the photos were fantastic However there is an issue that doesn't sit right with me. I keep seeing them advertising their free portraits and I want people to be aware what they're getting into. I bought matching outfits and dragged my family and 4 dogs into their studio and spent HOURS on my session. At the end they showed us a beautiful slide show of all the photos and allowed me to pick which one I wanted for my free print. At the end we got the opportunity to buy more photos, of course I wanted them! Tell me why they wanted six thousand dollars for a canvas print. Or 1500 for the digital copies. They deleted every photo we took cuz we obviously couldn't afford those prices. I felt crushed and like I had wasted so much time. Had I known how expensive it was I wouldn't have spent hours getting so many photos. The effort it took to wrangle 4 dogs just to waist everyone's time was so frustrating that now every time I see their ads for the last 2 years I get vehemently angry. My bf owns a marketing company. He says they are predatorily giving away free photos to waste your time and make you feel pressured into spending copious amounts of money on a black and white photo. At the time I had tried to look up pricing on their website and they didn't have it and now I understand why. Anyway the people were nice and the shoot was lovely but I did feel manipulated and tricked by the end of it which was not a nice feeling. They should be upfront about pricing so people know not to waste so much time in the studio, which would save them time and money as well. She says "yes its part of the package deal" So I asked if I got a package for $250 she then says I need to buy a full package for $4000-$7000 and they breakdown to $250 each. I said no thanks and they still keep calling daily. I even blocked the number and they call from other numbers. Plenty of great photographers on FB for an affordable rate. I told her in the last phone call I had with her to STOP texting and calling me and just email me because i'm tired of her "i didn't say that" "oh now i remember saying that" excuses. Not actually reading my emails and deflecting. She still continued to text and call me. I would post the number but my previous review got taken down for putting what I assume was girly pop's personal number lol. Got rid of the first portrait they sent wrong AFTER monica told me yes they messed up on their end and that I didn't need to bring in the one I received and that they'd just reprint, frame, and ship to me another one. Not her asking for it back after it was disposed of. Why was it disposed? Monica assured me they'd reprint and we didn't need a second portrait of the same picture. Crazy how they didn't want to spend more on their end to rectify the mistake and even crazier how rude they are once they're done snapping your pictures. We haven't hung up our portrait. It's sitting in the box it came in. Don't really want to hang up a picture that will remind us how we were scammed/manipulated. All that stress on a pregnant woman was a lot for me. If we decide to hang it up in the future, my partner and I said we'd cover up the "Townsley" watermark to lessen the PTSD. We don't want to see that name on our portrait and we definitely don't want family/friends/guests to see their name and get fucked over by them like we did. read more
