The store was well organized with other patrons browsing the Pokémon offerings which were plentiful. Greeted by the sole employee, who directed me to the vintage sports card room. Instantly, I grabbed two packages of Fleer 90's baseball cards at only $2.00 each. Opened the packages in front of the employee in hopes of finding a valuable gem. Well, it was exciting and I found about four cards worth about a buck each. There were three wall displays of early 90's Matchbox diecast trucks complete sets for under $300.00 which brought back memories of my childhood. Not much other types of sports memorabilia such as jerseys, bats or helmets although an impressive inventory of cards.

As I peered to the center of the store, I noticed a Nouri's Fine Jewelry store, which I have never encountered inside of a Hallmark store. Still trying to find a jeweler to clean my vintage sapphire ring I took a chance asking the sole employee. She advised that due to the method involved in removing the stone for proper cleaning that the task would not be possible by Nouri's and I appreciate her honesty. Browsed through the iconic Hallmark cards which are pricey although good quality - compared to the Dollar Store - ranging from $3.49 to $6.49. A little Hallmark comedy gag gift with the oversized Hallmark cards 12' x 12' and envelope included. Not sure how many stamps required to send this through the mail for the holidays.

They have basically any calender design or idea you can possibly think of, like star wars but with cats instead, cluck off that is nothing but roosters and chicken, and just adorable pets or more adult geared calenders. They also have an amazing selection of puzzles that range from toddler to puzzles with over 1000 pieces! They have spongebob, disney, Harry Potter and even a funny face mask puzzle I would've gotten if not for the box being damaged. Only concern was we were not addressed once, when I walked in, the two workers just stopped talking, looked at me then began to talk to each other again without acknowledging me at all. They have a huge amount of space inside their store & they utilize every inch. I like how their sections are relatively organized by category, although it can get a bit overwhelming with just how much they have. Everywhere you look there's display cases loaded with figures & bookshelves filled out. They have the best selection of comic books in south Florida, by far. When it comes to quantity & variety they have a great offering. Horror, superheroes, sci-fi, anime; they have some of everything. They keep a nice stock in their weekly release section & carry a lot of sought-after series. While they don't carry every cover variant, they do a good job at having at least a couple for most issues. The workers are usually pretty friendly. They offer help looking for items in their massive store & will point you in the right direction if you have any questions. I've never once had a bad experience in all the years I've been visiting. As good as they are, I have 2 complaints. First off, they're sometimes a bit overpriced. Whether it be an action figure or certain comic, there's been times where I've found them pricing things $2-$15 over market value. While get it's a business, I hate finding something here only to realize I can get it online cheaper. I'm ALWAYS for supporting local businesses but unfortunately it dissuades that. Lastly, sometimes I'll look for a series to start & they'll only have issues #2 & on. While it's not that big of a problem, I always grab issue #1 before any others so this'll cause me to skip out. Usually, however, this doesn't happen often. Overall, Tate's is the place for all your comic & collectible needs. There's not much more to ask for considering their good service, up-to-date selections & large variety. Also, be sure to check out their art gallery upstairs. They carry tons of stickers, prints, originals & crafts from local artists!
