The venue it self is actually really cool. If you can get there. We live in Philly so we left super early and thank goodness. We were able to get parking but it took us an hour sitting on the one road going to the venue but according to others who weren't even able to get in, we were lucky. It's a hike to the venue which we weren't prepared for but it was fine. The venue itself was cool. Open air, lots of food options. Most venders ran out of water before the show was over which kinda sucked. Then when we left we sat in our car for two and a half hours before our car was even able to leave our parking spot. They definitely need to get their parking situations handled before people stop coming all together. read more

The bands were phenomenal...at least what we got to see of them. We stayed at a local hotel, deciding to leave an hour and a half before the show started. Per an email sent to us, if you got preferred parking you were to arrive at a 'checkpoint' between 2:30 pm and- 7:30 pm to receive a special placard. When we got to this checkpoint we were told the checkpoint closed at 4:30...THREE HOURS EARLY! We had to wait along the driveway at PNC field and finally got the pass. We started up the mountain and it took TWO HOURS to go 3.8 miles. The people directing traffic were not qualified to handle the sheet amount of people going to the venue. Once we finally got up the mountain and into the "preferred" parking, we ended up in the very back of the parking lot and had to book it to the venue. We got there halfway through Three Days Grace's set and missed the entire opener. At least we were not the hundreds of people forced to TURN AROUND when the venue parking got to capacity. The employees at the venue were less than helpful, due to the fact they were extremely overwhelmed. Also, to charge $71 for two drinks and pretzels is WILD! I have been to nicer venues and not been charged such ridiculous prices. We ended up leaving the show three songs early just to beat the traffic. Seeing how the venue shuts off comment sections and deletes reviews, I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS VENUE NOR WILL I RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE! It seems Montage and Live Nation just want your money. They do not care to rectify the issues with the venue and their customers are just another dollar. If I could have rated them lower, I would have. read more

Went for a concert. We got there hours early but they were extremely unprepared for traffic and parking and it took over 3 hours to get in due to their lack of preparation and organization. They told us to park at the baseball field and we would get a shuttle with a police escort. There was no escort we just got back in the endless line on a school bus. Will never go back. read more

Worst venue ever! PLEASE READ! I don't know how this place is still allowed to have concerts. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get into the venue. It took us 2 whole hours to drive two miles. TWO MILES. There was nobody directing traffic. It was a mess. When we finally parked there were a few cops and venue workers. They were just hanging out chatting and directing nobody on where to park or how to walk into the venue. We paid all that money for our tickets just to miss both opening acts and creeds opening songs. When we got in there was no one directing us to our seats and there ended up being people sitting in our seats. It was so disorganized. There were people hopping the fence and going into the seated sections, making it overcrowded and unsafe. When leaving there were no lights on the walk path getting back to our cars, so unsafe. This venue and live nation should be ashamed of themselves. It was very upsetting to say the least, I will NEVER go back. read more

I've been here twice in 2021 for a Breaking Benjamin show and this year 2022 for the Trinity of Terror Tour part 2. We live about 3 hrs away so leaving early to get there is a must. I've never sat in traffic getting there, but we were there when the gates opened for both shows. Pros: * Sound system was great for both shows.. * Lot of food and drinks available * I've always enjoyed my seats, never have anything blocking my view. Con: for the Trinity of Terror Tour * The line getting in, security takes forever. They had 2 lines for people with bags and 1 line for those without bags. Get more lines, I was in the line without bags and it seemed to take longer then the one with bags. * The merchandise line, is right inside the ticket scanning gates, so you're running into it for both shows. They only have 1 merchandise booth, so we stood in line for 1 and 1/2 hours for the Trinity of Terror Tour. Got up to it and of course they didn't have one of the shirts in the size I wanted, well they did, but couldn't find it because they are in a tiny booth. There was a line the whole concert for merchandise and people still waiting when we left. Leaving traffic is backed up, but if you're all leaving at once it's kinda expected. Overall I'll come back for concerts. I love being outside for concerts and it's a nice venue. read more

Horrific. Extremely disorganized. Left our show 30 minutes early to try to beat some traffic and ended up waiting a total of 2.5 hr before they even opened the gates of our parking lot. Words can't describe how upsetting of an experience this venue was. It needs to be shut down. Witnessed multiple verbal and one physical altercation in the parking lot -- none of which were handled. Completely disorganized. One small road to get in/out. A trek through the woods, past rancid dumpsters to get to the gates. Endless bottlenecks. The only bathrooms seem to be porta johns. Poor sight lines with huge support columns obstructing the stage view. The parking situation is horrible. And there is no service to get you to the venue from the lot. If you have any trouble walking at all pay for vip parking. The seats are hard plastic and don't flip up like most stadium seats so getting past people is tough let's just say you get real close. Plan on using a porta potty there is not much in way of real bathrooms. The staff however was friendly and as helpful as they could be I'm giving directions and controlling crowd flow. Lots of food and drink choices with typical concert pricing. They do allow sealed water bottles in which is great. Changed from 3 stars to 2 getting out of parking lot was a nightmare. Attended Outlaw Music Festival yesterday, noon to midnight. Venue pros: Lawn seating was beautiful, with great acoustics, albeit not so great sight lines. Huge props on the availability and quality of food, from BBQ to falafel wraps to Caribbean (excellent Cuban sandwich!), including a great selection of beer and wine and pleasant staff, it really contributed to a positive fan experience. Cons: Gate security was really inconsistent. As we were approaching the gate, people were returning to their cars with refused lawn chairs, advising others "no lawn chairs" despite the venue website that stated lawn chairs were allowed. We had no trouble entering carrying a large canvas tote bag, but the person right behind us was told "no backpacks." Once inside, couldn't help but notice both lawn chairs and backpacks in abundance. Is the pavilion getting a little seedy? I appreciate the notices on the seat backs to text fan problems to facility management, but it didn't help me in row D, Section 206, which had apparently come mostly loose from its moorings. Every time anyone in the row got up, sat down or shifted position, everyone in the row got jolted. Over the space of several hours, this is more than annoying. Even worse for one patron in Row C when the entire back of his seat came unfastened, nearly dumping him backwards onto the cement. Also, is it really that hard to keep paper in the porta-potties, or to provide a portable washing-up station? Security was pretty good at policing folks who insisted on standing in the aisles, thus blocking the view of everyone behind them. Good until the main events hit the stage and it got dark, that is, at which point most of the red and black-shirted Live Nation folks seemed to disappear, coincidentally, as folks got drunker. I witnessed no random ticket checks inside the seated sections, so people were constantly "improving their seats." Glad it didn't rain, or we'd have no doubt had a "flood" of fans from the lawn. Ultimately, one can say the same thing about the Pavilion at Montage that can be said about any big venue in a fairly isolated area that draws big-name entertainment: The dressing rooms are more important than the fan seats. If they build it, people will come; even after they stop maintaining it. read more

Attended our first concert here on July 15th (Jason Aldean). Concert was great the venue is a shi.... Show. Traffic was dead stop from the 81 exit. After sitting in traffic for 45 min we got 3 miles from the venue and the police closed the road because the parking lots were full. It was a big crowd but not sold out. We had to walk over four miles to the venue (up hill). Once we got there a cluster going through security then another cluster through the main gate. Concert started at 7:30. I got off 81 at 7:15. Missed the three act got to see Gabby Barrett's final song the watched them flip the stag for Aldean for 45 mins with a crappy DJ. If you want to go and see a concert at the pavilion at montage stay home and watch a music video of the artist. read more

I've been to hundreds of concerts across the country and I'm attempting to write a review of every venue to assist my concert going troubadours. Outlaw Fest September - 18, 2016 Overall, an incredibly positive experience. It's a beautiful venue with great acoustics tucked in the scenic Montage Mountain. Most of all, the mountain folk that reside (and work) in this region were the friendliest I've ever meet. Ever. Everyone kept asking if I was having a good time (maybe I was a bit haggard from attending Farm Aid the night before in Virginia) and were more than willing to share their pot. They had a great varied selection of food (and food trucks) and beer that was reasonably priced. It would be 5 stars if not for the following: They ran out of beer, early - "Honey, we haven't had beer for half an hour.' For the lawn, they have two antiquated projector screens that are eye sores. They serve no functional purpose and it would be better if they just took them down. They ran out of paper towels and soap in the men's room (note: there are functional non-porta potties with running water left of stage, but the urinals are only 4 inches apart). This venue is currently running without a sponsor and I get the feeling they are operating check to check. Hopefully, they get sponsorship and address some of the minor issues that prevented a 5 star rating from me. read more

I came here with friends for DMB on 5/29/13. While we ended up getting to the area a little late, the traffic was beyond what we expected. I can't believe they don't have more options for routes in and out of the venue area. They also weren't directing traffic very well. We ended up missing the opening act (MOE) because of the traffic and how far away they had us park! The drinks and food inside was far more overpriced than I've seen at other venues as well. Overall the sound and visibility during the show was decent. Not the best I've experienced, but not the worst either. Two of the biggest issues were the traffic and crowd control before and after the show, and the disturbing amount of trash that was left after the concert. I suppose the second issue is more of a reflection on the people attending the show, but I also can't say that I saw many trash cans or recycling bins anywhere! Either way the venue and those attending shows really need to get it together! There's no reason to throw your garbage all over the place! read more

Terrible venue. I went there months ago to see Dierks Bentley and what an experience. First we waited in traffic for about 2 hours just to park the car. Finally once parked, there was absolutely no signage telling you where to go. We followed the crowd and what a mistake that was. We came upon a very steep hill with no way to go around it so we pressed on down this hill. I lost my footing and went literally ass over teakettle down the hill and scratched my new $600 prescription eyeglasses and hurt myself. Once we FINALLY got to the venue I asked someone for an ice pack for my knee. She literally handed me a Walmart bag with a few ice cubes in it and wrote down my name. I was hurt but I also wanted to see the artist that I had gotten hurt just to see but she never asked for a phone number nor any other identifying information. Worst concert venue I've ever been to. We were staying 4 miles away..it took us 2.5 hours to get there, then to find parking which was a total s$it show. We also had figure out how to find the gates to scan in on our own because by this time the parking attendants were done with everything and everyone. We finally got in, got a drink and sat down just in time for Aldean to come on (we left the hotel at 5:25, it was now 9)..then had to leave before it was over to make the trek uphill in gravel, dirt and rocks back to the car so we didn't get caught in the same traffic. We left our hotel (normally 13 minutes away) at 5pm for the concert and did not get into the venue until 7:40 and missed the first 2 openers. We witnessed numerous physical altercations that were not handled properly. Finally, I've been to hundreds of country concerts at this point and I have never seen more drunk people in my entire life. I'm not sure what was going on but it was to the point where there were numerous lifeless limp bodies puking everywhere I had to step over them. I recently attended the Kid Rock concert at the Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain, and it was my first time at the venue. The concert was scheduled to start at 6:45 PM, so we arrived at 2 PM to tailgate, which is when the parking lot opened. To our surprise parking was free. Even though it was a horribly rainy day, there were still plenty of other people tailgating. We went into the concert at 8 PM, just in time to catch the end of the opener and grab a few beers. The venue is pretty cool, as you are surrounded by nature. Merchandise was avaliable when you first walked in, additionally there were numerous drink and food vendors. As usual, everything was a little over priced. The entire day and concert it poured rain, so the lawn was a little muddy. Additionally there were NO overhangs or areas for lawn tickets- so if it is raining wear a poncho and rainboots. The venue did have lawn seats for rent, and you can bring in your own. Getting out of the parking lot was a disaster. It took over an hour to go from our parking spot to the main road- brutal. read more

Will never come here for a concert again. Traveled from New York to see a show here and I waited in traffic to PARK for well over an hour. Not to mention getting to the venue from the parking lot was a mess. My friend and I, as well as many others, had to walk down a very steep hill which is a major liability for this venue. Did Peach Fest again this year and the shuttle from the FREE parking was pretty smooth. Great food but like any venue most of it over priced like $5-7 for a bottle of water. So the venue has a huge pavilion lots of shade, but they still allowed people to set up shade Tents in the Lawn section. Well how would you feel if your sitting in the lawn on your blanket enjoying the show and someone walks up in front of your spot and sets up a tent right in your line of sight. I saw a concert here recently and from the beginning things were pretty terrible. Be prepared to come incredibly early for large concerts, as the steep uphill climb of poorly managed traffic that will go no faster than 5mph at best will be torture on your clutch or transmission. A buddy of mine had warnings of his transmission overheating several times going up the hill, and someone two cars ahead of me had to pull over because his clutch began smoking. We ran into someone else on the way in with a similar experience. The parking lot itself is awful and stretches the limits of what can be called a gravel lot, because these stones were enormous, and actually ended up causing some damage to my wheel and tire, which I am sure would not be compensated for at all. The traffic direction into the lot was fine. Going out was a different story. Zero staff at all in any of the lots directing anything left it a free-for-all with many not really knowing where to be going at all, and there was a singular person at the main thoroughfare directing 3 lanes of exit traffic down the only exit from the lot. The bonus here is that I learned my car has a feature where if it sits still while being on for too long, it automatically engages the parking brake, which is something I'd rather have not learned about the hard way. We moved roughly 10ft in 45 minutes before we were able to go around much of the traffic and skip ahead to a faster moving exit lane. The concert itself was good, but we had lawn tickets, which normally I have had pretty great experiences with. The tent was fairly low hanging though and it was rather difficult to see the stage. Most other venues specifically have monitors with cameras to give people in the back a close up, but Montage Mountain only used their monitors in the lawn area for advertising in between sets. I've been coming to the Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain for years and even saw my first concert here, Ozzy Osbourne, back when I was just a wee lad. More recently I've been there for the FuzzFest, where I saw The Dirty Heads and Robert DeLong. My favorite event I've ever attended would have to be the Van's Warped Tour. Thousands of people poured through the Toyota Pavilion gates for an all-day lineup featuring some of the hottest names in alternative music. I got to meet several of the bands that year including Simple Plan, Street Dogs, Motionless In White, D.R.U.G.S. and Enter Shikari - but the Van's Warped Tour had more to offer than just music. One of the most popular spots was the Slip N'Slide on the lawn right above the Nintendo DS stage. Another interesting stop was the giant skate ramp. There were a number of professional skaters traveling with Van's Warped Tour that showed off their impressive skills and performed tricks at every venue. There were also some important non-profits at the event, including the John Lennon educational tour bus, a mobile recording studio that allows students from all over the country to write and record their own music. I met a representative from To Write Love On Her Arms, a charity organization dedicated to helping people struggling through depression, addiction, and self-injury. I was also at Montage for the first (and last) Steamtown Beer and Music Festival. It was a horrible mess; poorly organized and scarcely attended. It's amazing to me that a festival about beer (which everyone likes) and music (which everyone also likes) can turn out so disastrous. Oh well, they can't all be winners. read more

Great venue; horrible parking. I came here for the Luke Bryan - Kick up the Dust tour. I'm not a big Country fan, the wife is, but they definitely put on a great show, but this review is for the venue. There's a long winding uphill road that leads to the venue on top. When you get to the top there's three parking lots. I noticed the lot closest to the venue was open so naturally we parked there. This was a big mistake, which I'll explain later on. After we went through the gates, I had to get a drink. There really isn't a whole lot for food and most of the drink stands have caned domestic beer. However, there is one stand that at the far corner closest to the tent that has cocktails and craft beer, make sure you go to this one; I ended up drinking Lagunitas IPA all night. The venue itself has a permanent open tent structure with seating and behind the tent is lawn seating. I don't do lawn seating, so when I purchased the tickets I paid extra for seating, which was a helava lot more comfortable than sitting on the ground. So here's where it all went downhill... (no pun intended) As soon as the concert was over, we left and went straight to our car. We pulled out of our parking spot drove maybe 50 feet and stayed in the same parking spot for two and a half hours, do you know what that's like sitting two and a half hours in your car not moving?? It sucks. If you go here do yourself a favor and park far as possible from the venue, getting out fast is worth the walk. They clearly need a better exit statagy for the lots. I don't see myself coming back here. read more

Went with a group of friends to the Toyota Pavilion for Froggy Fest over the weekend. This is my 4th time watching a concert at this venue. So I felt I knew what to expect and haven't had any totally terrible experiences, until now. The concert was to feature Dierks Bentley, Chris Young, Chase Rice, John Pardy, Maggie Rose and a few other 'opening acts'. It was scheduled to start at 4:00pm but the radio (FROGGY) kept announcing the doors would open at 3:00. At 2:30, we began to drive up the hill towards the pavilion and were quickly directed to park at the Baseball Field instead of the usual parking by the venue. They were apparently busing people from the ball field up to the venue. However, they were only running 4 buses for thousands of people waiting in the blazing heat and long lines for a ride. Clearly someone didn't think this out. It was just before 4:00 when we were finally dropped off, about a half mile from the gate to even enter the venue. After waiting in more long lines for the restroom, we were nearly 30 minutes late. Luckily this disorganized mess still hadn't really kicked off. We arrived just in time to hear Maggie Rose's last song. Nearly 40 minutes later the next act went on. Between every act there was 30 minute-an hour wait!!! It was ridiculous. Not to mention you couldn't hear anything at all from the lawn. It just sounded like faint music in the background. That's not even the worst part. After paying $14:00-$15.00 for a few 20 oz beers during the concert... they eventually ran out of beer. I'm not joking. This venue ran out of beer by 8:00pm. Almost every stand in the place also sold out of water. This event was a crazy cluster. Borderline awful. We ended up leaving during Dierk's 2nd song. The whole reason I purchased tickets was obviously to hear the headliner. But, since this event was a on a Sunday and running so darn late we had to leave. Plus we had no idea where to catch the buses to get back to our vehicle. I won't be back here for a long time and I'm 99% sure you won't see me at another Froggy Fest for awhile. read more

I have seen over 20 concerts here over the years.... The venue has a lot of good about it and very little bad if you know some basics. 1. If you want to park close, get there EARLY. 2. If you don't want to wait in traffic after the show, leave at 10:45 instead of 11. 3. Security and cops won't harrass you if you are acting fine. 4. Buy your tickets at the box office as it is cheaper than online. Also, to the person who posted the picture of a rocky hill. They decided to walk that way. The venue has an entrance from both parking areas, but for some reason they decided to risk a fall. When parked at Gate 3 (where they were parked), you head east towards the ski area and there will be a safe entrance into the venue. read more

I have been to a lot of concerts and events, have never seen a cluster F like the parking at Montage Mountain. First off don't get suckered into buying the VIP parking. All that does is get you into a paved lot close to the venue. But when its time to leave you sit in you car for over an hour simple not moving! Once you do move the parking attendants are useless! Guys just standing there spinning his flashlight oblivious to the what is going on around them and not directing anyone! How it takes over an hour to go 2/10 of a mile is beyond me! Also the beer is ridiculously expensive! Beer is cheaper in Yankee Stadium $15 for a Tall Boy? what is that a 1000% Make up? I mean I am a capitalist but come on!!! read more

It's hard to know to whom I should be giving credit for the amazing time I had at the Peach Music Festival on Montage Mountain. This was an amazing festival, but with some serious issues thrown in to mix things up. We had to park about a mile away and lug all our stuff up a hill and across a rocky lot to the gate, where we were quickly checked through and loaded onto big tractor-pulled wagons. Those deposited us at the bottom of a ski slope, which we then had to climb to find a camping spot. But they also had golf cart-sized vehicles whipping around and helping poor souls like me up the mountain. Once we were settled in, though, I don't think I've ever had so much fun. The size of the crowd forced us into close quarters and quickly close relationships with our great neighbors. The absurdly priced alcohol inside the venue was overshadowed by our stealthiness in sneaking in water bottles of liquor. the music was great, and spread between the main stage and a second stage, set up at the base of the neighboring FULL-BLOWN WATER PARK. How much fun can possibly be packed into a single weekend? This place showed me. This was a music festival done right, so right that I forgive them for the back-breaking physical labor involved in setting up camp.
