I was excited to be going to a new comic shop with my husband. We have been collecting comics for…read moreyears and know how to handle them. Going inside for the first time, we were coldly greeted, as I replied and tried to make small talk, I was one worded. (Not very friendly) as we start to look around, I quickly noticed how careless they are with the comics. NONE of them had supporting backs so they didn't bend with pressure or ruin the spine and they were completely unorganized. There were comics laying around not in the proper places everywhere. I thought maybe they just got a shipment but no, the worker was sitting on his phone paying no mind to us, asking if we need help or the other gentleman who looked like he did. I got towards the back of the store and noticed a box that said "New arrivals" that was completely full with another very full box on top of the "new arrivals" box, bending the comics on bottom and I mean they were bent in half. Any collector knows you clearly do NOT treat comics that way as they are fragile, especially since they didn't put supporting backs in the sleeves. I started to look for a few comics I wanted to fill some gaps in and realized that there was no way I was going to find anything specific because of how unorganized they were. My husband was having to dig dig dig to find a comic that wasn't ruined. He was able to find some, but as we checked out, the guy again was cold and not friendly at all and was completely mishandling our comics to the point something had to be said. He actually bent one of the comics we purchased because of his carelessness. We take pride in taking care of our possessions, especially our comics. I am sad to say that I wouldn't recommend going to this place, and we definitely won't be returning. A disgusted collector.

The name doesn't really tell you they're a comics/collectibles store, and you sort of think it might be a video or music store. I'm glad we investigated and saw their actual genre, which was something we are super interested in - COMICS! The attendant we spoke with was very nice and helpful when we were trying to find certain issues (for our Wolverine collection). They had comics from many different era; new books. classic issues, graphic novels, and even a kids section. We definitely spent a long while thumbing through all the comic boxes and looking at the display walls. Stop here for sure, if you're a comic collector and happen to live near or be driving through Lincoln!

After multiple titles on my pull file were NOT pulled, I have called it quits with them. no problems like this at Krypton Comics. I do not play Pokemon or other games, but they are very active in this category too. Their vintage toys for sale make me want to be young again. why settle for less when everything is here!! There was a tournament going on in one of the back rooms, so it was a bit busy, but the folks working still helped us find certain things we asked about and were happy to do it. They have a ton of current comics, as well as lots of vintage comics, which was what we were on the hunt for (and found!) Aside from the main shop and the back room for games/tournaments, there's also a little side room that has toys, collectibles, and comic book sets (like all issues of a certain run, bundled together). Overall, I'd definitely recommend stopping here if you're on the hunt for a certain comic, figure, or game. It just felt like the people here enjoyed what they do and like helping collectors find what they're looking for, sincerely wanting you to have a good experience at their shop and come back (which we will!)

You may not be able to find it without help though so be sure to ask if there is something specific you want to find. So much fun to look around. Since another person and I, in a FB group, each ordered a copy of the Gospel Of John, illustrated…read moreby Rick Griffin, from Robert Beerbohm, the owner of BLBcomics, through the group because he offered these for sale on the group and Ebay. We didn't have Ebay, so we sent personal checks(at least I did) on April 1st. We didn't hear back from Robert and the other person contacted me through FB and I said to give him more time. Well, a month and 1/2 later, it finally shows up. It's just a 'Watchtower' type pamphlet. Not an illustrated book, like I was expecting. The Gospel of John tract by Chuck Smith, and illustrated by Rick Griffin that I wanted is an actual book. This had maybe 6 pages and was published by some church. I got charged $36.99 + $3.50 shipping for this. The hardcopy in NM condition of the actual tract cost me $18 plus shipping from Amazon. Plus, there are other copies of the same thing selling for 1/2 the price we got charged. When I complained to Robert, he said return it for a full refund. However, he won't refund my money even though I have a copy of the check he cashed, a receipt from the USPS receipt with PID showing delivery date, May 18th, 2015 of the return. To top it off, I know he received it in great condition because he's relisted it on Ebay later that night as New. Ebay listing # 231549168896. Now, he's saying weird stuff on FB to the other guy who still doesn't know when or if it showed up, saying blah, blah, blah and more excuses. I'll never do business with him again because he took advantage of both of us because we didn't go through Ebay and Paypal, so we have no recourse as buyers with the Paypal guarantee and can't leave negative feedback. Note: After doing some sleuthing, I came up with his actual address in Fremont, NE and his Paypal account info. I filed a complaint with the BBB in Omaha, NE that covers his area, Yelp! reviewed him in Fremont, NE and put a Paypal request for payment in after opening an account. Plus, I told this story on my seller's site on FB. A couple of months later, I received my refund in the form of a USPS money order(I guess he's afraid I'd steal his banking info, which I already had anyways as it was on the back of my check that he cashed.), no apology, nothing about being sorry for the whole thing, just some gobbledy gook about the Griffin family, etc. Then, at the very end, he says 'I should be ashamed of myself'. For what? Making him cough up the money he owed me? What a total douche...

They also feature readings by local authors as well as an area with local books. Visiting their website, they have what they are reading. There are also lots of cute gifts in the store as well. Definitely a plus for book lovers in the Omaha area!
