This is a good size Toys r'us but is also one of the busier toys r us. Well once in awhile I would walk inside. I find that the staff here are not that friendly and at times they are not helpful. Maybe they think I don't have the money to buy toys. LOL. Once came here and asked for Dutch Blitz card games and they checked and said oh we have a lot and the lady pointed the the corner. I came back told her there are none. Then she pointed to the same corner again. Then she ignores me. Yes she was very rude she thinks I didn't look. I later give up in getting it. My sister who is in University, one time went in and the lady accused her for making a mess at the Toys r us. She was there to get a gift and wasn't expected the lady wanted her to clean up. I went to Toys"R"Us at their new Station Square location. The store is easier to find now than their previous location inside Metrotown. Went looking for My Pal Violet and when I couldn't find it, I asked Eric and I received such excellent service from him! Eric was helping another customer but immediately came to us afterwards. There was no My Pal Violet on the shelf so he checked the computer; it indicated that there was a Violet in stock but only in French. Not giving up, Eric persevered and went to the stock room to check for himself. Lucky for us, there was an English-speaking Violet in stock. When he found out that Violet was to be gifted to a child in the UK, Eric went back to the stock room and found a newer box as the first one was a tiny bit damaged. I'd like to commend Eric for the excellent service I received; please pass along a HUGE thank you to Eric! He will be making a child VERY happy in the UK. read more

-the customer service at this location was horrible -Anna yelled at kids for taking toys from the shelf to check them out or trying on a bike before buying. understandably the latter poses risks to other customers but instead of yelling at the kids, she should approach the parents. after all, it's a kids store and anyone who have kids know sometimes it's not easy to monitor their behavior, especially when they are in a toys store! it appeared her service has always been bad (see Suji M's review). -when complaining Anna's yelling to the manager, Jayson, his attitude was indifferent. he did not once ask questions to understand the situation. read more

The WORST place ever. Please if you read this message dont buy anything from this store. If you need to buy expensive electronics go to WALLMART. ToysRus have the worst return policy ever. They dont accept boxes that have been opened. Its just a BIG joke. Their employees are incompetent and rude, that kid cashier charged me for a game without checking if they still had it, he called someone and goes " omg so sorry we dont gave this game anymore"... So i had to go through Cust Service for a refund. I waited 30 minutes like an idiot. Then i tried to return my nintendo switch lite that i bought yesterday to get the big one instead today. They didn't want to take it cause i opened the box ... WORST experience ever, this store should be out of Business. Please! if you need to buy electronics, go to Walmart. I had one of the worst shopping experiences at this store today. We took our one year old to pick up a bunch of outdoor toys for our backyard, and was looking forward to having fun picking out toys for our little guy. We asked a passing employee (who turned out to be the assistant manager) for help checking the availability of an item that was advertised but not on the floor. She said to ask the cashier. Odd because there was a line up of people at the checkout desk and only one employee. We stood in line, and asked. She was unfriendly and seemed stressed. She couldn't check, would have to call the warehouse to check. We then asked for the price of another item that didn't have a price posted. She went to write down the item number (as it was a bulky heavy item), but when she went to check realized she had written the number down incorrectly and asked my partner to go carry it to the till. Hmm. Anyway, we waited for over fifteen minutes, and our baby was starting to lose patience. I heard her speaking with someone on the phone about stock so then when she hung up and made no moves to update us, I approached her to ask if she had heard back. In the most patronizing tone ever, she very slowly enunciated that she called the warehouse, because that's what she had to do, and we just had to wait. I explained that I understood that, but was checking in because we had been waiting for a long time and wanted an update. She said my tone was impatient. Uh what?? When I started to respond, she said whatever, and went on serving the next customer. This stellar employee wasn't wearing a name tag but apparently is called "Yan Yan"? Appalling. In the meantime, my partner had flagged a nice helpful young man who apparently had only been working there a week, who was in fact able to look up the stock for the item quite easily. But by this time, I was so irritated that I couldn't spend any money there. We spoke to the unhelpful assistant manager from before who didn't seem to care in the least. So instead of spending the $300-400 we intended to on backyard toys, we left with nothing. Such an unnecessarily frustrating experience. read more

This Toys R Us is located in metrotown mall. Smaller, but very busy of the times I've gone there, especially before Boxing Day. Very well staffed and they are helpful, so no real complaints. read more

I have come to this location several times and consistently have received excellent customer service, so quite surprised on some of the reviews. It is a huge store with a lot of selection and sales. If the item you want is not on sale at that time, just wait because most brands get rotated for sales. I love that Toys R Us does a lot of raising funds for good causes. Today was for Autism Speaks Canada and the last time I went was for Children's Hospital. I will always be coming back! read more

Most of the staff here are friendly and helpful. This comment is regarding one particular staff member. Courtney was rude to customers. She spoke loudly and slowly, like a stereotype of a racist person. When asked to clarify something she said, she yelled, "Like I just told you..." However, she was unclear in her first explanation (which is why she was asked to clarify), and yelled at a customer to cover up her own confusing answer. With customer service like this, I would choose other stores before returning to this one. read more

The staff there are usually ok (not the most helpful but they're decent), but today I didn't expect to get attitude from them. I went up to the lady behind the Baby Registry counter to ask if they have a specific baby car seat which is advertised as on sale on their flyers. The lady kind of looks at me with a sigh and asks whether it's the $200 one, and then she said that one's all out and she's been getting calls all morning about it. She looks like she was ready to move on with me. This is at 10:30am on a weekday. The store barely opened for 30 minutes and this lady looked exhausted and quite unwilling to help. No smiles from her, no "How are you?" or "How can I help you?" from her. I pressed on and told her the car seat I wanted is the one on the flyer. She just looks at me blankly again, although I gave her the name of the car seat. I'm not asking her to know all the car seats out there, but if I have given her the brand, the model, and the price, I would have expected her to help me find the car seat instead of just sitting there looking at me. So I ended up opening a flyer up (which was right in front of her), flipping to the page and pointing to the baby car seat that I wanted. FINALLY she gets off her seat, goes to the back and comes back with the car seat in the box. I asked if the price was as stated in the flyer, and she just quickly says "I need the beeper for that". After the price was verified, she asked whether I was taking the car seat with me (mind you, I was pushing my baby in the stroller), or to have me pick it up from the loading dock. I asked whether somebody can help me put it in my car, since I have never bought anything big from Toys R'us before and didn't know where the loading dock was. She rudely replies that they don't do that and that she'll have it be sent to the loading dock. Now I have no idea where this loading dock is, and she just said it's out at the back. No instructions were given to me at all. Metrotown is a fairly big mall, guys. It took me a good 30 minutes driving around on Kingsway (with a crying and hungry baby in the car to add to the stress) to find the loading dock. I ended up driving into a construction area and the construction workers were more helpful than the Toys R'us employee in pointing me to the right direction. I get that perhaps that lady had a rough day - a rough first 30 minutes of her work day from when the store opened. Yes, she did get the job done and got me the car seat I needed. But the attitude and her impatience was out of this world. I wasn't even trying to shop around and try out different car seats. I knew exactly what I wanted and yet I felt like this employee was in no mood to help me at all. Conclusion? I would not be shopping here again. read more

Nice size store. The lack of professionalism and basic customer service is what this location is lacking. I've never seen such incompetent people running a business!! I placed an online order and went to pick up the order after the 3 hour window they need in order to have the product ready. The manager told me they had not received the order after 3.5 hours. She further said that the 3 hour window does not actually mean anything. She further said that they look at online orders every 3 hours so if the order was place after that person had looked at the online order, I would have to wait 3 hours from the time they 'looked' at the order. What kind of business is that? The manager further went on to say that I could look in the store myself and find the products. Meanwhile I had a newborn who was just as done waiting as I was. That is their customer service. I was so annoyed and irritated by all of it I just got a refund. I did call in to make a complaint about how I was treated and never received a response back. I will never shop at this store again and am willing to pay a couple extra dollars to shop elsewhere. read more

I came here to find out a selection of children's DVDs for my toddler without going online and waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Toddlers cannot wait that long! The selection at Toys R Us is limited. I assume there are hundreds of other parents needing to keep their kids entertained for hours as well. I bought some Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse adventures for under 12 bucks each. There are several deals where you can buy 2 for $10 but the shows arent that great. Just thought I would share why I don't shop at Toys R Us anymore. My husband and I were walking through Toys R Us to find some bubbles and to look through their selections of board games. While looking through some games we noticed a board game called Ouija board. We didn't see any instructions on the board, however had some idea of what it was. I went home and looked into it and found that it was a form of "witch craft" that people use as intermediaries between the living and the dead. To me personally, this doesn't sound like a game that should be sold in a child store and with my concern I messaged Toys R Us who informed me that they had no plans on taking it off their selves. Very upset with this location... I went to their Baby section to buy a travel system (stroller/carseat) in which I had asked to pick up at the loading dock. The lady staff said not to worry. I asked if they will be able to assist me carry it to my car and was told no problem. The moment I got to the loading dock, a guy opened the door and I gave him my receipt. I then told him my car is just on the side of the loading dock and he told me he can't take it there... I am 9 months pregnant and the fact that the male staff told me he can't help me, left me flabbergasted.... apparently, they're not allowed to assist a consumer to take their big item purchase to their vehicle... very disappointing. read more

been coming to this toy r us for as long as i can remember. the staff in the baby section are very helpful, Edna most of all. if there was something i wanted that wasn't in stock, i can be sure she would be on top of it and help me order it. Edna is always very nice to me and my family and always makes us feel welcome every time we come into the store. I haven't bought anything from Toys R Us in a long time. I mostly buy things on ebay or amazon. I went in today 'cause my best friend informed me of a Boxing Day sale on Puzzles. Otherwise, I have no business being there during a busy boxing week or any other day for that matter. The puzzle was buy one and get the other of at 50% off (lesser value than the first puzzle). The rang up both puzzles at the til at full price. Having noticed this 10 minutes later I went back and instead of making the correction at the til I went through the first time I had to wait 25 minutes in the customer service line. The puzzle values were also mis advertised and they tried to blame some kid for moving stuff on the shelf around. I don't think a kid would be that crafty or bored to move 5 boxes of the same design into the cheaper section, especially since this specific puzzle had been in this mentioned section for 2 weeks (best friend was keeping on eye on specific food related puzzles for me fora while). The situation was resolved, however, was frustrated about having to wait for a correction in the long CS line up. read more

after a long day at a convention, me and a friend wanted to go to the mall, I was getting exhausted, after getting there, me and my friend went to the Disney store, No Beeping on stuff, then when we went to Toys R Us, the beeping started, one guy was very nice to me, he scanned my things and they didn't beep and he did the same for my friends as we were about to leave, before we left the lady with the long black hair, white skin accused me and my friend for stealing, and I don't steal, stupid lady now I don't want to go back after the convention.. I had the worst service ever. Tried to return a broken I Pod that I bought from this store. I even spent the extra money on the extended warranty. What a joke. Don't ever try. They don't stand behind their product. I went through 4 diferent people tellig my story 4 different times and each time it feel on deaf ears. They would not take it back. I had to fight and fight and fight. I was so upset. The I Pod was only 2 weeks old. I sent a complaint to the head office and I'm sure that to will fall on deaf ears. read more

I think the selection on most items is fine. Prices are OK - nothing great and typical of a Canadian store. Customer service is lacking for sure. Sometimes I'm surprised with the odd good service but usually they do not know how to interact with customers especially kids. There was this Filipinna in the baby section and she was scolding my son for being a kid - uhm, you working in a kids' store. You can face the product again when we have left. That is good customer service. You are a "server" and not a mother/father - remember that. Needed a gift for a child's birthday party. Found the product on their website, read all the reviews, decided to go buy it. Made it to the store, found the product on the shelf... only one box, strapped to shelf with zapstraps. Hm, must be high theft item, will ask for one from the back. Found the employee, explained what I wanted, walked over, showed the item, the price tag,n barcode, everything. Waited for 15 minutes... turns out they don't keep stock of all displayed merchandise and if I wanted to, they could order in or I could order it online, but I shouldn't worry because shipping would be free... I don't think they get it - only reason I go to brick and mortar stores, is because I want too buy something immediately. If I could wait and shop online, I would buy it on Amazon for 30% less. With free shipping. Either keep a stock of something, or take it off your shelves (and follow Zellers and Target). read more
